Abstract

The research aimed to analyze the external factors influencing the production and income of lowland rice farmers in South Lampung Regency, Lampung Province. Using both qualitative and quantitative methods, the study followed four stages: data collection, input, analysis, and interpretation. The research involved 50 farmers from the Sidomulyo District, with data gathered through questionnaires and interviews. The study identified key external factors affecting production, including land area (X1), seeds (X2), fertilizer (X3), pesticides (X4), and labor (X5). The production function was modeled as Ln Y = Ln 9.111 + 1.010 Ln X1 + 0.072 Ln X2 – 0.137 Ln X3 + 0.023 Ln X4 + 0.012 Ln X5, showing an increasing return to scale with a significance value 0.05. This suggests that greater use of these production factors enhances rice production. The analysis revealed a good income of IDR 10,592,864.74, with R/C and B/C cash ratios exceeding 1, confirming that lowland rice farming in South Lampung Regency remains profitable. The study concludes that external factors significantly impact rice production and income, with potential for increased profitability through optimized resource use

Abstract

Rice prices in Indonesia rose significantly in early 2024, with premium-quality rice reaching IDR 16,410 per kilogram—a 21.3% increase compared to the previous year. These disparities stem from weaknesses in the agribusiness structure, poor market integration, and insufficient market information. This study aims to analyze rice market integration at the farmer-producer and consumer levels in Lampung Province. Secondary time-series data on grain prices at the producer level and retail rice prices at the consumer level from 2018 to 2023 were analyzed using price correlation, price transmission elasticity, and the IMC method. Results indicate a consistent upward trend in both retail rice and farmers’ grain prices, which are positively correlated. However, price transmission elasticity reveals that price changes at the farmer-producer level outpace those at the consumer level. The analysis concludes that rice market integration in Lampung is weak in the short term but demonstrates strong integration over the long term. These findings highlight the need for improved agribusiness structures and better market information systems to enhance market efficiency

Abstract

Rice is a food ingredient that is a top priority in government food policy.  Rice prices in Indonesia experienced an increase in the first quarter of 2024, rice prices jumped 21.3% compared to last year. The difference in rice prices occurs because of the weak agribusiness structure and market mechanisms that occur in Indonesia.  Market integration analysis can be carried out through several measurements, namely price correlation, price transmission, and Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) analysis. This research aims to analyze the relationship between rice prices at the farmer level, grain producers and consumers in Lampung Province, as well as analyzing the integration of the rice market at the farmer level, grain producers and rice consumers in Lampung Province. The data used is secondary data in the form of time series data, namely data on grain prices at the producer or farmer level and retail rice prices at the consumer level in Lampung Province from 2018 to 2023. The data analysis method uses price correlation analysis and the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM ) using Eviews.10 software. The research results show that the price of rice at both market levels, namely between the grain producer market and the rice consumer market in Lampung Province, is positively correlated.  Based on the results of the market integration analysis, it shows that the rice market in Lampung Province has not been fully integrated in the short term, while the results of the cointegration test show that in the long term the market at the grain producer and retailer level in Lampung Province is well integrated, so it can be concluded that the rice market in the Province In the short term, Lampung has not been well integrated, while in the long term the rice market in Lampung Province is integrated.

Abstract

This descriptive-qualitative study aims to discover factors that influence students' difficulties in solving non-routine problems. The researchers employed open-ended questions that had previously been developed by researchers, ensuring that they were valid, practical, and had potential effects. The researchers brought up this topic because non-routine questions can help students improve their mathematical skills. The study's approach consisted of three stages: preparation, implementation, and data analysis. The research subjects were 31 eighth-grade students from one of Belitang's junior high schools. Data was gathered through observation, interviews, and testing. Observation was utilized to collect data on the learning process, while interviews were used to understand more profoundly and directly about students' difficulties in addressing non-routine tasks. The test was then administered to assess students' ability to solve non-routine tasks. The data was evaluated qualitatively using descriptive analysis. Based on observation and interview data, several factors contributed to students' difficulty in solving non-routine problems, including the fact that students had never worked on non-routine problems during the learning process in class, and the teacher's book only contained routine problems. In relation to the foregoing, the exam results show that students' ability to solve non-routine problems remains poor, with as many as 58.07% receiving poor grades, 19.35% receiving moderate grades, and only 22.58% receiving good grades. With this research, it is envisaged that teachers will assign numerous non-routine tasks in class in the future, allowing students' mathematical abilities to be thoroughly developed.

This study aims to analyze the effect of Motor Vehicle Tax, Motor Vehicle Title Transfer Fee, and Surface Water Tax on the Regional Original Revenue of Lampung Province. The research employs a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. Secondary data were obtained from the Regional Revenue Agency of Lampung Province, covering all regencies and cities in Lampung Province during the period 2020–2023. A saturated sampling technique was applied, in which all members of the population were included as research samples. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression after the regression model satisfied the classical assumption tests. The study results indicate that Vehicle Tax, Vehicle Ownership Transfer Fee, and Surface Water Tax simultaneously have no significant effect on the Original Local Revenue of Lampung Province. Partially, Vehicle Tax and Vehicle Ownership Transfer Fee have a significant effect on the Original Local Revenue, while Surface Water Tax also shows an effect, albeit with a relatively smaller contribution. These findings emphasize the importance of optimizing local tax management as an effort to strengthen fiscal capacity and financial independence of the region. In practice, the regional government is advised to enhance supervision and services in the collection of Vehicle Tax and Vehicle Ownership Transfer Fee, as well as to utilize digital technology to increase public compliance, thereby maximizing the contribution of local taxes.
