Abstract

We created a program to develop students’ reading literacy by analyzing the intrinsic elements of short stories. The method used is giving a pre-test, then giving material in the form of videos and power points, and post-test using 10 questions to 10 students’ of Islamic junior high school. The results of the pre-test showed that most of the students’ had answered correctly, with a score of 60%. The results of the post-test of students’ experiencing development are indicated by the achievement of a score of 90%. Students’ experienced an increasing scores because they had received the intrinsic elements of the short story before doing the post-test. The age of students’ does not affect the level of development of students’ in understanding the intrinsic elements of short stories. It is concluded that students’ can improve reading literacy by knowing how to analyze the intrinsic elements of short stories. Students’ can enjoy literacy activities by reading short stories by looking for intrinsic elements in the short stories they read. This program helps students’ in providing information about how to analyze the intrinsic elements of short stories so that they can help students’ develop in reading literacy activities.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, education requires online learning. The online system is a solution for Education in teaching and learning practices. The purpose of this study was to determine the understanding of elementary school students about the implementation of time management in daily activities during the pandemic. The research method used is quantitative, with a sample of 16 respondents from a population of 33 students. The results of the study show that there are still not many students who understand time management. With the presentation of learning in the form of videos, students' understanding in listening and curiosity increases. The results obtained that the number of pre-tests was only 74.39%, after being given the material and post-test the questionnaire increased to 94.25%.

Abstract

Rhythm patterns are a regular flow of basic beats following several variations of melodic motion relating to the length of the short note and the lightweight of the accent (pressure) of the note. The study aimed to increase the knowledge of junior high school students in reading, writing, counting, and feeling the rhythm of a song using the Eurythmics Dalcroze learning method. The method used in this study is quantitative methods with data collection techniques. The result of this study is the Eurythmics Dalcroze method can increase students’ knowledge of rhythm patterns. The results showed an increase after students were given PowerPoint speakers and YouTube videos about rhythm patterns using the eurythmics Dalcroze method online through zoom with educators. Using the Dalcroze method, distance learning of rhythm patterns becomes easier to understand and becomes more enjoyable.

Abstract

The world is currently facing an energy crisis. This research was conducted to create alternative energy by utilizing abundant biomass in nature. The novelty of this study: (1) Use of soybean biomass with coconut water as an electrolyte paste, (2) Testing of bio-battery resistance to wall clocks, and (3) Comparison of the composition of the two materials. In this study, an electrolyte paste made from soybeans (SBs) and coconut water (CWs) with a ratio of 7/1, 6/2, 5/3, 4/4, 3/5, 2/6, and 1/7. To support the analysis, an electrical voltage test and a battery resistance test for wall clocks were carried out.  The experimental results show that the composition of coconut water increases the value of the electric voltage on the bio-battery. The composition of coconut water serves to activate the ions in the paste. Meanwhile, more soybean content will increase bio-battery life. It was found that the bio-battery with electrolyte paste of soybeans and coconut water can be used as alternative energy. The results of this research are expected to offer renewable alternative energy for world energy security.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to provide an overview to junior high school students regarding rhythmic sounds based on the number of notes through the Maestro application so that students more easily understand and can practice it directly. This research also guides students to be able to read and write rhythmically on musical notes. The focus of the problems studied includes the material being taught, the methods used, and the results obtained. The research method used is a case study through a qualitative approach. The method is used to describe and describe, as well as analyse the phenomenon of rhythmic learning. The learning method used is not only from one method, but there are several other methods such as using environmental media as material for practice and listening to music or songs. The variation of the method aims to make students not feel bored with the material being taught. The object of this research is 10 students from junior high school 22 Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. These results indicate that students' knowledge of music increased from the previous question in the pre-test, which was 7.46%, and after we explained and distributed the post-test questions, the result was 21.37%.

Abstract

The increasingly rapid era of globalization coupled with this pandemic situation, many negative influences received by elementary school students both from social media or the environment, coupled with the current pandemic situation which requires distance learning which has an impact on the absence of direct practice from teachers or instructors about character education, which causes school students to lack character, character, and spirit of nationalism. The aim of the research is for elementary school students to understand character education and be able to practice it in daily life. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach, namely by giving pretest-posttest questions to determine the level of understanding of character education. The results of this study are still many students who do not understand character education. This character education will provide learning for students to understand what character, virtuous character, and spirit of nationalism are and instill in their daily lives.

This study aims to determine the effect of social media on the learning motivation of junior high school students. In this study using a quantitative approach, quantitative research is research based on calculations using numbers starting from data collection, interpretation of the data, as well as appearance and results. The independent variable is social media and the dependent variable is student learning motivation. The subjects of this study were junior high school students who were taken at random totaling ten students. The data obtained from the google form questionnaire data, the analysis technique uses pre-test and post-test. The results showed that the influence of the use of social media by 66% on students' learning motivation and after the direction and instruction increased to 81%. Abstract

Financial literacy includes the human understanding of personal financial management. Financial literacy needs to be done from an early age. The purpose of this study was to determine how big the level of understanding of elementary school students towards financial literacy and how much motivation to save elementary school students. This research was conducted by a quantitative method by producing primary data. Primary data was obtained from the activities of filling out pre-test and post-test questions to elementary school students. The results of this study indicate that many students have made a habit of saving but their level of understanding of financial literacy is still low. The results of the research show that the average post-test score of students is 88.7%, which is greater than the average pre-test score of 81.3%, so there is an increase of 7.4%. Students' understanding of financial literacy increased by 7.4% after being given a learning video. Elementary school students should build the habit of saving from now on. Saving habits make elementary school students trained in managing their finances.

Abstract

At this time, many types of music emerged and exposure to them was helped by the rapid information received from social media. This research aims to determine whether different musical preferences affect the learning of basic music theory in junior high school students. This research method uses quantitative research. The result of this study is that there are differences in results between students with different musical preferences. Students with rock music preferences experienced a change in knowledge of musical elements from 10 to 70% and students with pop music preferences from 44 to 67%. Students with rock music preferences experienced bigger and more drastic changes, it was because the population with rock music preferences was less than pop music preferences.
