Abstract

This study aims to compare the proportion of MSME financing from total financing in commercial banking and Islamic banking in Indonesia in 2014- 2018. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach with the Mann Whitney test. This study used secondary data obtained from the Financial Services Authority’s (OJK) website. The study result showed a significance value (probability) that was smaller than 0.05, meaning that the proportion of MSME financing to total financing in Islamic banking in Indonesia was greater than the proportion of MSME credit to total credit. It shows that the presence of Islamic banking has had a positive impact on the growth of the real sector, especially MSME through mudharabah and musharakah schemes or direct investment schemes and profit sharing so that MSME can contribute to employment, domestic income, and resilience in dealing with economic shocks. Keywords: Banking, Credit, Financing, MSME

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the correlation between ZIS and the number of poor population in Indonesia, the correlation between DPK and the number of poor population in Indonesia, and the correlation between education fund and the number of poor population in Indonesia. The method used is a quantitative method, using a simple correlational approach namely Karl Pearson correlation. The data used is quantitative and includes secondary data taken from the official website of BAZNAS, Ministry of Finance and BPS. This research data includes ZIS in Billion Rupiahs, DPK in Trillion Rupiahs, education fund in Trillion Rupiahs, and poverty rate data in million people. All data is in the period 2002-2019. The results of this study stated that each of the ZIS, DPK, and education fund are closely and significantly related to the negative direction of the number of poor population in Indonesia period time 2002-2019. The results of the correlation coefficient (r) are respectively -0.834, -0.828, and -0.933. The results of the three relationships have a significance probability of 0,000 that is smaller than alpha 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the ZIS, DPK, and education fund have an inverse relationship with the number of poor population in Indonesia. In other words, if the ZIS, DPK and education fund increase, the number of poor population in Indonesia will decrease.Keyword: ZIS, Poverty Prevented Fund, Education Fund, and Poverty

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the level of efficiency of zakat institutions in Indonesia between 2014 and 2018. Zakat institutions are divided into three clusters based on the organisation's nomenclature: the government, public, and private groups. The division of these clusters aims to see differences in the management of zakat funds between each group. This study uses a quantitative research approach through the Free Disposal Hull (FDH) method to produce a more comprehensive average efficiency estimation than the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The sampling technique is purposive, and there are fourteen research objects observed. The government cluster is the cluster with the highest efficiency value. The private set comes in second, and the public group comes in third ranking. The high score that the government cluster earns is due to their primary business purpose, which focuses on managing zakat funds. The results of this study can be used as references for the policy establishment of zakat institutions in Indonesia.
