This study evaluates the impact of two Indonesian government economic stimulus packages on the performance of Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) in the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) financing sector. It compares the NPLs in conventional and rural banks with Non-Performing Financing (NPF) in Islamic commercial and rural banks, before and after the stimulus, during the COVID-19 crisis period. The two policies are in the form of interest/margin subsidies and credit/financing restructuring for debtors in the SMEs sector. The approach used is a quantitative approach with three analytical methods consisting of ANOVA, MANOVA and DiD (Difference in Difference). The secondary data in this study were sourced from official publications of government institutions such as the Financial Services Authority and the Ministry of Finance. The results showed that there were significant differences in the performance of NPL/F of Conventional banks, Islamic Commercial Banks, Conventional Rural banks, and Islamic Rural banks before and after the government's economic stimulus policy was determined.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of board characteristics and firm-specific variables on the capital structure of Sharia-compliant companies in Indonesia’s basic materials sector. Utilizing data from 26 non-financial firms between 2007 and 2020, the research applies the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) to analyze the relationships between board size, independent directors, board of commissioners, and capital structure decisions. The findings reveal that board size has a significant positive impact on leverage, while the presence of independent directors negatively affects debt usage, reflecting their role in promoting prudent financial practices in line with Sharia principles. The board of commissioners also exhibits a negative correlation with leverage, indicating that stronger supervision reduces reliance on debt. Additionally, firm-specific variables such as growth opportunities and non-debt tax shields significantly affect leverage decisions. This study contributes to the literature by offering insights into how governance practices and firm characteristics influence capital structure in Sharia-compliant firms, with implications for both corporate governance and financial management in the basic materials sector.

Abstract

The Covid 19 pandemic which has spread throughout the world has had a very bad impact on the national economy, including the rural economy. Because economic activity in urban areas has stopped, production demand in rural areas has also been affected. By using ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development) approach, the objective of this community service is to increase the productivity and economy of Sugihwaras village residents by using several methods. The first is to increase the diversification of existing products while increasing the value of goods sold by the community. Second, increase citizens' marketing level to the next level by providing an understanding of online marketing. The third is to increase the community's basic financial understanding with financial management and basic accounting counseling. The results of the community service program showed that there was a very significant increase in the understanding of the participants on the materials that had been taught.

Abstract

This community service program was conducted to enhance the welfare of the residents in Sumber Sawit Village, Sidorejo District, Magetan Regency, through training in livestock management, financial literacy, and the development of Islamic cooperatives. The village faced key challenges, including limited technical knowledge in livestock management, restricted access to capital, and low financial literacy. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach was employed to actively involve the community in problem identification, training sessions, and program evaluation. The results indicated significant improvements in the community’s capabilities, including more efficient livestock management, enhanced financial literacy, and the utilization of Islamic cooperatives as an alternative community-based financing option. This program received high appreciation from the community and village leaders for its success in creating an inclusive, equitable, and sustainable local economic ecosystem. These findings highlight the effectiveness of a holistic approach that integrates technical training, financial literacy, and cooperative development as a model for empowering communities to support sustainable local economic development.

Abstract

The productivity of dairy cows in Sendang Village, Tulungagung Regency, remains below optimal potential, averaging only 4–10 liters per head per day, due to limited access to quality feed and suboptimal livestock health management. This community service program aims to enhance productivity through two feed innovations: nanotechnology-based Phyllanthus niruri extract to improve livestock health and metabolic efficiency, and silage feed to ensure the year-round availability of nutritious feed. The methods employed include socialization, technical training, and distribution of both products to 20 dairy farmers who are members of KPUD Tani Wilis. The application of these two technologies has the potential to increase both the quantity and quality of milk production, while also supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Responsible Consumption and Production, and Climate Action).
