Abstract

Salah satu kemampuan yang diharapkan dimiliki siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran matematika adalah penalaran. Penalaran dapat membantu siswa dalam mengambil sebuah kesimpulan dari permasalahan yang dihadapi. Berdasarkan nilai UAS di salah satu sekolah (SMA N 8 Tidore Kepulauan, banyak siswa yang belum memenuhi KKM. Didukung oleh hasil keterangan guru di sekolah tersebut bahwa sebagian besar siswa mengalami kesulitan belajar matematika, tidak mampu membuat manipulasi matematika, keliru dalam menyimpulkan masalah matematika. Selain itu, sebagian siswa belum memiliki keyakinan untuk dapat menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan guru, hal ini dapat dilihat ketika guru menunjuk siswa tertentu untuk menyelesaikan soal di depan kelas, namun siswa tersebut menunjuk teman lain untuk mengerjakan soal tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh langsung locus of control terhadap penalaran matematis siswa kelas XI SMA/SMK se-Kecamatan Oba Utara. Tempat Penelitian ini adalah SMA/SMK se-Kecamatan Oba Utara. Waktu Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 3 bulan yakni bulan Agustus s.d bulan November 2021, dimulai dari persiapan penelitian sampai pada tahap publikasi jurnal ilmiah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian survey kausal. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMA/SMK se-Kecamatan Oba Utara yang berjumlah 763 orang, diperoleh sampel sebanyak 88 orang dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode tes dan angket. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif, uji persyaratan dan uji hipotesis yang meliputi analisis regresi linier. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa locus of control berpengaruh langsung secara positif dan signifikan terhadap penalaran matematis siswa SMA/SMK se-Kecamatan Oba Utara Kota Tidore Kepulauan. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin baik locus of control seseorang semakin tinggi kemampuan penalaran matematisnya.Kata Kunci: Penalaran Matematis, Locus of Control, Siswa SMA/SMK.

Abstract

This study aims to explored the students’ obstacle in learning translation, increasing the students’ acticity in Translation learning, enhancing lecturer creativity in handle translation study to applied an approppriate method in teaching translation. The method of this study is qualitative which involved 12 respondents of English Department students Bumi Hijrah Tidore. Data was collected by doing observation and interview. It’s found that there are three important points become obstacles for students in learning translation, namely: 1). Student focus on learning is ignored. 2). Fearlessness in questioning in the class when confused with the material. Thus, when lecturers provide excersices, most of them are not able to finished well. 3). Involved in group activities are also still minimal, both group presentation tasks that take place in class or doing assignment. These obstacles were influenced by personality, Learning Motivation, Students’ Acticity in Learning Translation, and Supporting Media in understanding the translation theory such as still depended on google translation. The conclusion of this study is the students should learn and dare to questioning in a team. The lecturer also needed to adapt the method of teaching to please the learners.

Abstract

This study aims to identify what obstacles are encountered by students in speaking, especially in speaking subjects. The type of this research is qualitative research. The subject of this research is students in semester 3 (three) of English Education Study Program, Bumi Hijrah University, Maluku Uatara. This type of research is qualitative research. Where data is obtained through observation and interviews. The results of this study indicate that students of the English language education study program have obstacles in learning. These obstacles are in the form of 1. internal barriers which include: linguistic components (mental / fear, sentence composition, description / pronunciation and intonation, word selection, vocabulary / vocabulary). Content component (content relationship with topic). 2. External Barriers which include: Room conditions and knowledge of listeners. 3. Learning which includes: Learning methods and motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent of the implementation of portfolio assessment in public and private schools, the difficulty of implementing portfolio assessment based on the teacher's perspective. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach. The data collection process was carried out in three stages, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, at the data analysis stage, the researcher utilized data from the results of observation, interviews, and documentation, and then followed up with 3 stages, namely; data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The informants of this study were 3 teachers at each SMA N 5 City of Tidore Islands, YASMU High School, and SMA 8 City Tidore Islands. The results showed that there were differences in the implementation of portfolio assessment between schools with state status and schools with private status. In public schools, the implementation of portfolio assessment is more effective and programmed so that the learning outcomes and talents of students are more easily recognized and guided on an ongoing basis, while in private schools it is not. Difficulties in implementation are more likely in private schools caused by external and internal factors.

Abstract

The implementation of character education in higher education has a great impact on the achievement of graduates. In addition to soft skills, it also has an impact on hard skills. Efforts to cultivate student attitudes and politeness are very necessary. This study is carried out to answer why it is necessary to form student attitudes and politeness and how to instill student attitudes and politeness. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method through analyzing the result of observation, interview, and documentation from WhatsApp or SMS from the students. This study presents qualitative data that most of the students whose attitudes and politeness are formed in the Research on Language Teaching and Introduction to Linguistics courses, Giving assignments (project) that are considered as a way to observe students' attitudes and politeness. The results show that students' respect and politeness towards lecturers and assignments can encourage each student's awareness of learning to improve their good character and also their academic field.
