Abstract

Hyperuricemia and hypercholesterolemia’s cases are increasing. Noninvasive early detection method should be develope. Development of smart sanitary napkins based on paper chip biosensors using “Whatman” filter paper through screen printing and immobilized with pH 6 citrate buffer and iron (III)-actress- (1,10-phenanthroline) complex reagent for detection of uric acid and cholesterol oxidase enzymes and reagent 2,2'-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS)) for cholesterol detection. The analysis of the paper chip biosensor has a response time of 10 minutes for uric acid detection and 25 minutes for cholesterol detection. Uric acid linearity 2 - 20 mg / dL and cholesterol 50 - 500 mg / dL. The LOD and LOQ detection areas for uric acid were 0.322 mg / dL and 0.965 mg / dL, respectively, while the cholesterol detection areas were 8.740 mg / dL and 26.221 mg / dL, respectively. NaCl interference interfering with the detection of uric acid and cholesterol was 5.746% and 6.388%, respectively and creatinine interference interfering with the detection of uric acid and cholesterol was 5.868% and 5.583%, respectively. The precision for uric acid detection was 1.252% (RSD <3.7%) and cholesterol detection was 0.059% (RSD <2.7%). The accuracy (% recovery) for uric acid detection was 100.333% and for cholesterol, the detection was 100.016%. Smart bandages can be used to analyze the initial conditions of hyperuricemia and hypercholesterolemia.

Abstract

Abstrak DD Orchid Nursery  merupakan salah satu nursery anggrek besar yang berlokasi di Desa Dadaprejo, Kecamatan Junrejo, Kota Batu-Malang. Produk anggrek dari DD Orchid Nursery  telah dikenal luas oleh masyarakat pecinta anggrek di Indonesia bahkan hingga internasional. Tingginya permintaan masyarakat terhadap tanaman hias anggrek yang memiliki karakter sama dengan induk perlu diimbangi dengan penerapan teknologi produksi terutama untuk perbanyakan anggrek klonal. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk mendiseminasikan teknologi inovasi bioreaktor termodifikasi dengan sistem kincir sederhana guna meningkatkan produksi perbanyakan anggrek secara klonal kepada masyarakat sekitar dan petani plasma DD Orchid Nursery. Sasaran kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di tempat mitra DD Orchid Nursery  yakni karyawan bagian produksi laboratorium yang memegang kendali terhadap kualitas bibit yang dihasilkan. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian berupa sosialiasi transfer teknologi bioreactor dan diseminasi dan praktik uji teknologi bioreactor. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dilakukan yakni adanya peningkatan transfer of knowledge dan transfer of skill yang diberikan oleh tim kepada masyarakat maupun petani plasma. Selain bertujuan untuk mengenalkan inovasi bioreaktor termodifikasi dan memberikan materi serta cara kerja bioreact, kegiatan ini juga diharapkan bisa memberikan sebuah inovasi baru kepada DD Orchid Nursery  berupa bioreaktor yang telah dimodifikasi dengan harapan nantinya nursery ini dapat mengembangkan teknologi tersebut agar dapat memenuhi kebutuhan konsumen dan bisa memproduksi anggrek klonal secara masal.Kata kunci: anggrek; bioreaktor termodifikasi; klonal; PLB (Protocorm Like Body)  Abstract DD Orchid Nursery is one of the big orchid nurseries located in Dadaprejo Village, Junrejo District, Batu City-Malang. Orchid products of DD Orchid Nursery have been popular in the national and international orchid communities. The high demand of identic orchid production in the market requires the implementation of technology to produce orchid seedlings using clonal propagation. This activity aimed to disseminate innovation of modified bioreactor technology using a simple pinwheel to increase clonal production of orchids for plasma farmers of DD Orchid and society. The target of community service activities at the DD Orchid Nursery partner site were employees of the laboratory production department who control the quality of the seedlings produced. Methods used in this activity were the socialization of bioreactor technology transfer and dissemination of bioreactor technology testing. The results of this activity contributed to the increased transfer of knowledge and skills for plasma farmers and society. In addition, this activity was conducted to introduce detailed information about modified bioreactor innovations, materials, and how bioreactors work. This activity was expected to provide DD Orchid Nursery and society innovation in orchid production. DD Orchid Nursery could increase orchid clonal seedling production to fulfill consumer demand by implementing this innovation. Keywords: orchid; modified bioreactor; clonal; PLB (Protocorm Like Body)

Abstract

The caffeine assay can be developed by using sensitive reagents for caffeine detection, such as sodium periodate (NaIO4), acetic acid (CH3COOH), and 3-methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrazone (MBTH) inside 96-microwell plate. The addition of caffeine solution could change the color of the reagent from white to deep blue which can be then scanned and quantified by a flatbed scanner and the color image analysis program, known as the scanometric method. Analytical characterization such as linearity, LOD, LOQ, precision, accuracy, and stability of the developed method was established by using caffeine standard. The result of caffeine analysis using the developed method agreed with that of the spectrophotometric method, suggesting that the developed method can be used as an alternative method for caffeine assay in pharmaceutical preparations.

Abstract

The level of health significantly influences the quality of human resources. The family, being the most basic unit of society, has a significant impact on enhancing health outcomes. A mother is suitable for this role, as she is responsible for caring for the entire family. Kader PKK (members of the Family Welfare Movement, a community-based women's organization in Indonesia) of RW 04 in Badean Village, Bondowoso District, Bondowoso Regency has an opportunity to enhance their potential through women's empowerment. The distribution of educational and economic levels among people in RW 04, Badean Subdistrict, is uneven, resulting in a disparity in their health status as well. This service activity focuses on empowering women through the implementation of the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method. The aim is to enhance the quality of community health by conducting counseling and training on preparing nutritious food using Moringa leaves, which are readily accessible to the population. This service activity has enhanced the knowledge and skills of Kader PKK of RW 04 in processing nutritious meals. They can also disseminate the knowledge they have acquired to mothers in their surroundings, thus improving the effectiveness of initiatives to empower women in the healthcare sector.     Keywords: Counseling and training; nutritious meals; kader PKK Abstrak: Salah faktor yang berperan besar terhadap kualitas sumber daya manusia adalah tingkat kesehatan. Keluarga sebagai kelompok sosial terkecil dalam masyarakat memegang peran penting dalam perbaikan status kesehatan. Peran ini dapat dipegang oleh seorang ibu karena ibulah yang bertugas merawat seluruh keluarga. Salah satu kelompok yang berpeluang dikembangkan potensinya melalui pemberdayaan wanita adalah kader PKK (Pembinaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga) RW 04 Kelurahan Badean Kecamatan Bondowoso Kabupaten Bondowoso. Tingkat pendidikan dan perekonomian warga di lingkungan RW 04 Kelurahan Badean tidak merata, sehingga status kesehatannya juga belum merata. Pada kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan upaya pemberdayaan perempuan menggunakan metode PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) berupa upaya peningkatan kualitas kesehatan masyarakat melalui kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan pembuatan makanan bergizi berbasis daun kelor yang mudah didapat di sekitar lingkungan warga. Dengan adanya kegiatan pengabdian ini pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader PKK RW 04 mengenai pengolahan makanan bergizi menjadi meningkat. Para kader juga dapat menyampaikan ilmu yang diperolehnya kepada para ibu di lingkungannya, sehingga upaya pemberdayaan perempuan dalam bidang kesehatan menjadi lebih optimal.Kata kunci: Penyuluhan dan pelatihan; makanan bergizi; kader PKK
