Abstract

Using masks has become popular as an effort to prevent COVID-19. This increased the public consumption of masks. But in practice, this effort might cause other problems. The survey arranged to observe the potential contamination form from using masks. Specifically, the inappropriate procedure to use and remove the used one. This descriptive study is a cross-sectional study. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire filled in by 152 respondents aged ≥15-years-old who lived in the Jabodetabek area through a link shared online on various social media. Worked at the healthcare facility was the exclusion criteria for the participants. Fabric masks were the most commonly used. The majority replaced mask with the new or clean one once a day. Touched outer side of masks was the habit of most participants with lack of hand-hygiene practice. Potential self-contamination from inhaling pathogens, direct or indirect, released by the infected person when coughing, sneezing, even when talking, sourced themselves or others. Environmental contamination could occur due to lack of hand hygiene practice before wear masks, and after-touch while in use and after-remove it. Hence, educate the community for proper procedure use of masks and hand hygiene practice is necessary to prevent contamination and spread of diseases.

Abstract

Introduction: Online motorcycle taxi drivers spend most of their time outside as either driving or waiting for their customers. Therefore, chances of exposure to various air pollutants are higher and may cause various health problems, especially the respiratory problems. Methods: This is a descriptive study that used the Environmental Health Risk Analysis method to estimate the Risk Quotient (RQ) from exposure to PM10, SO2, CO, O3, and NO2 in drivers. The RQ was calculated based on exposure concentrations from the Special Capital Region of Jakarta Environment Agency; daily working hours, working days in a year, and working period obtained from interviews; additionally, body weight measurement, reference concentration (RfC), and the default value of inhalation intake were also collected. The population of this study was adult online motorcycle taxi drivers who operate around areas which become the air quality measurement stations in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta with a total sample of 81 people. Results and Discussion: The RQ for all minimum, average, and maximum concentrations of SO2, CO, and NO2 were <1. While for the average and maximum concentrations of PM10 and the maximum concentration of O3, the RQ was >1. The safe concentrations, work duration, and the number of working days also surpassed the maximum safety limit levels. Conclusion: PM10 and O3 ambient exposures are categorized unsafe for drivers. Environmental health efforts are necessary to reduce the concentration of air pollutants, and the guidelines to reduce pollutants exposure should be provided for drivers.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Edukasi, Etika Batuk, CTPS, Covid-19 ABSTRACT Implementation of limited face-to-face learning during the Covid-19 pandemic has been controversial. It is because school is one of the places can transmit of covid-19. Many research revealed increasing covid-19 cases in students and staff after reopening schools. It is necessary to take preventive measures so that transmission does not occur. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge related to preventing the spread of COVID-19, such as coughing/sneezing etiquette and washing hands with soap. This education is conducted online using lectures, audio-visuals, and handwashing with soap video playback. This activity is also carried out pre-test and post-test to measure students' knowledge. Pre and Post-test were given before and after the education was carried out by giving five-question through the questionnaire. The result of pre and post-test performed that students knew that the sufferers transmitted to healthy people is Sars Cov-2 virus (from 21.7% to 43.6%) and covering with the palm when cough/ sneeze is not adequate to prevent the transmission of covid-19 (from 47.8% to 82.6%). It also showed that coughing/sneezing etiquette helps keep fluids/droplets out of the mouth and nose (from 82.6% to 87%), and hand sanitizer is ineffective in preventing the transmission of covid-19 compared to hand wash with soap (from 56.5% to 78.3%). The conclusion is increased students' knowledge regarding cough/sneeze etiquette and handwashing with soap.  Keywords: Education, Cough Etiquette, Washing Hands With Soap, Covid-19

Abstract

Patients who self-quarantine were carried out to break the chain from the spread of the COVID-19 virus, but a new problem arose: solid medical B3 waste originating from these patients. If this B3 medical waste is not managed properly, it can potentially transmit and be contaminated by infectious substances. Management of infectious waste from self-quarantine patients was minimal because most people did not know about it, and there was a lack of infrastructure from the government. Therefore the researchers were interested in researching the management of B3 waste, substantial B3 waste, from people who carried out Covid-19 self-quarantine. This study aimed to determine the community's effectiveness in managing solid medical B3 waste from COVID-19 self-quarantine activities. Using the snowball sampling method and cross-sectional design, the results showed that there was a significant relationship between Attitude (P Value = 0.000), Knowledge (P value = 0.006), Age (P Value = 0.019), Gender (P value = 0.000), Occupation (P value = 0.000) and Education (P value = 0.04) on community behavior in managing B3 medical waste during the Covid-19 self-quarantine period. Management of Solid B3 Medical Waste from self-quarantine has not been effective since its application is still low, and local drop boxes were not available as temporary shelters for B3 waste.
