Abstract

Abstract: Uric acid is the final substance of purine breakdown which is assisted by guanase and xanthine oxidase enzymes. Excess blood uric acid levels are called hyperurosemia. Treatment is usually using synthetic drugs such as allopurinol which has side effects for the body, so it is necessary to take herbal remedies such as Syzygium polyanthum Wight which contains active ingredients such as flavonoids as an inhibitor of the xanthine oxidase enzyme. This study aims to determine the effect of giving Salam Leaf Decoction to the Decrease in Blood Uric Acid Levels. This study uses a completely randomized design study (CRD) with 5 repetitions. This study uses One Way Anova data analysis and continued with Duncan's Test. From the results of the study, at a dose of P1 (0.2 ml / 20 g WB), P2 (0.4 ml / 20 g WB) and P3 (0.8 ml / 20 g BB), a percentage of uric acid levels decreased 40.45% in group P1; 48.19% in the P2 group; 53.53% in the P3 group; 60.35% in the K + group; and -30.73% in the K-group. Of the 5 doses, the most effective dose to reduce uric acid levels in the blood is P2 dose (0.4 ml / 20g WB). KeyWords: Salam Leaf; Hyperurosemia Reduction;uric.

Abstract

Abstract: Critical thinking skills are included in high-level thinking skills that train students to think logically, scientifically, and are relevant in solving problems. These skills need to be applied in the learning of the modern era today, one of which is PBL-based TPS learning that has the thinking syntax of thinking, grouping, and sharing opinions, combined with a problem-based approach. This study aims to determine the effect of Think Pair Share (TPS) learning models based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach to critical thinking skills and students' biology learning outcomes. The population in this study were students of class XI MIPA at Balung Jember High School in the academic year 2017/2018. The research sample was class XI MIPA 2 as the experimental class and class XI MIPA 1 as the control class. The results showed that the Think Pair Share learning model based on the Problem Based Learning approach had a significant effect on critical thinking skills with a significance of (p = 0,000) and was also able to improve students' biology learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains. Abstract

The curriculum in Philippines different with the curriculum in Indonesia. This make the learning process and the problems faced by students in Indonesia and Philippines different. One of the problems experienced by students is caused by the lack of variation in strategies in the teaching and learning process. The instructional model used by the teacher is to upgrade student learning outcomes, especially on high-level cognitive, in this research especially problem solving abilities. Instructional method used by researchers is Problem Based Learning (PBL) with a pretest posttest design. Data of this research obtained quantitatively and using the mean before and after the test. This study used control class and experimental class on material cells to organism. The results show that the experimental class has a higher average value of 88.6 compared to the control class, 81.9. These results indicate that PBL successfully increases learning activities and students can follow the learning model using PBL.

Abstract

One of the requirements for the process of conducting education can take place effectively, namely the enforcement of student discipline both in attendance and participation in the education process, namely the application of punishment. The aim of this study is to determine the impact of punishment on students, the method is descriptive method, because the descriptive method intends to solve the problem of describing something state / subject based objects on what it is. The form of research is an interrelationship study, namely by conducting data collection. The result of this study is percentage that has a comparative analysis of mild and severe penalties in the form of a ratio. Respondents clearly stated that physical punishment had an effect on students' academic / career achievements (65%) while mild physical punishment had an adverse negative impact (35%). Looking further at the effects of physical punishment, it was observed that severe and severe penalties prevented class participation, reduced attendance and increased the dropout rate shown by respondents as wise. According to the explanation above, it can be concluded that the application of penalties, especially physical punishment to students will make students feel depressed and afraid that will have an impact on student psychology.

Abstract

The main problem in learning science which until now has not yet been completely solved is by the assumption in students that this lesson is difficult to understand and understand. The main factor of this reality seems to be due to the lack of connection in learning science with everyday life. The Project-Based Learning model with the STEM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is very suitable to overcome these problems because the learning process involves students working collaboratively by combining two or more disciplines. This research is a quasi-experimental which aims to determine the effect of the Project-Based Learning learning model with the STEM approach to collaborative skills and student learning outcomes. Assessment of students' collaborative skills is obtained when students work on assignments in groups with the guidelines for the collaborative skills rubric. Student learning outcomes are obtained from pre-test and post-test scores.

Abstract

Teaching and learning process can be combined with the existence of skills. There are 4 types of skills that can be needed in the 21st century era. One such skill is the Communicative skill. Communicative skills are learning that emphasizes aspects of communication, interaction, and developing linguistic competencies, as well as language skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking) as a goal to recognize that there is a connection with communication activities in daily life. The learning process can also use a learning approach that is relevant for students so that students can improve student learning outcomes at school. One learning approach that fits the 2013 curriculum is the STEM approach is a learning approach that combines two or more fields of science contained in STEM, namely science, technology, engineering or engineering, and mathematics. Through the STEM approach students are expected to have 2 skills of learning and innovation which include critical thinking, creative, innovative, and able to communicate and collaborate. Thus, learning must be embedded in basic concepts to the development of science and thinking skills.

Abstract

In the 21st century, students are required to have scientific skills that are used to face globalization with advances in technology and knowledge. One of the skills that must be possessed by students is scientific literacy skills. Scientific literacy is very important to be owned and understood by students because students can analyze and understand the relationship between scientific concepts and problems that exist in the environment around students. This study analyzes profil of scientific literacy in class XI students in several high schools in Jember Regency. Scientific literacy indicators include explaining scientific phenomena, analyzing and interpreting data to draw conclusions, as well as evaluating and designing. This type of research is descriptive research with data collection by google form. Based on the google form, shows that 58% of indicators explain scientific phenomena with low category, for indicators to analyze and interpret data to draw conclusions to get 48% data in the very low category, while evaluating and designing indicators get 59% in the low category. Based on these data, it shows that the scientific literacy skills of class XI students in Jember City is still low.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the characteristics of STEM-based teaching materials and to find out the increase in scientific literacy skills of junior high school students. The method used in this research is research and development. The design of this study uses the ADDIE model, with the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The trial design used the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The test subjects were class VII SMP Walisongo Mayang. The characteristics of this integrated STEM-based textbook and local potential contain material on temperature and heat, complemented by student environmental events as well as practicum procedures and project creation related to STEM aspects for students. The results of the validity of the textbooks developed by the validator show very valid criteria, with the results of the feasibility test using a student response questionnaire showing textbooks included in the practical category and good for students. As well as the results of the effectiveness of textbooks show that they can improve students' scientific literacy skills which are marked by an increase in pretest to posttest scores (t-test value 25,668 and n-gain 0.77). Developing textbooks for students makes it possible to develop them more broadly with STEM development as well as the problems and challenges faced by students in the surrounding environment.

Abstract

This study delves into the pressing requirement for employing Nearpod-supported daily digital assessments to boost students' creative thinking abilities and metacognitive skills. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using the Daily Assessment digital learning media assisted by Nearpod in improving junior high school biology science students' creative thinking abilities and metacognitive skills. This is a quasi-experimental research. The research participants consisted of two classes of science students at junior high school who were chosen randomly. The experimental class consisted of 27 students, while the control group consisted of 24 students. Data collection tools include validated tests of creative thinking abilities and metacognitive skills. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques using the ANCOVA test. The research results show that using the Daily Assessment digital learning media assisted by Nearpod significantly improves students' creative thinking abilities and metacognitive skills compared to conventional learning methods. Students demonstrate an increased capacity to generate new ideas, make connections between subtopics, and solve problems creatively. This research proves that the Daily Assessment digital learning media assisted by Nearpod effectively improves students' creative thinking abilities and metacognitive skills.Abstrak Studi ini menggali kebutuhan mendesak untuk menerapkan penilaian digital harian yang didukung Nearpod untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan keterampilan metakognitif siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas penggunaan media pembelajaran digital Daily Assessment berbantuan Nearpod dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan keterampilan metakognitif siswa sains biologi Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP). Ini adalah penelitian kuasi eksperimen. Partisipan penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas siswa sains di SMP yang dipilih secara acak. Kelas eksperimen terdiri dari 27 siswa, sementara kelompok kontrol terdiri dari 24 siswa. Alat pengumpulan data meliputi tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan keterampilan metakognitif yang telah divalidasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif dan inferensial dengan menggunakan uji ancova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan media pembelajaran digital Daily Assessment berbantuan Nearpod secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan keterampilan metakognitif siswa dibandingkan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Siswa menunjukkan peningkatan dalam kapasitas mereka untuk menghasilkan ide-ide baru, menjalin hubungan antar subtopik, dan memecahkan masalah secara kreatif. Penelitian ini membuktikan media pembelajaran digital Daily Assessment berbantuan Nearpod efektif mening-katkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan keterampilan metakognitif siswa.
