Abstract

Abstract.This study’s objective was to investigate the income and R / C of sheep business. This research was conducted on Cilawan Village,Pantai Cermin Sub District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, Sumatera Utara Province for 2 months starting from September until November 2017. The study was a survey which used Determination Method. Number of samples were 30% of total number of breeder in research area; there were 8 respondents whose intensive breeders and 30 respondents whose semi intensive breeders. The data used in this research were primary data and secondary data. Primary data were the result of interviews with respondents and secondary data were obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics. The results showed that intensive breeder earned income smaller compared to semi intensive breeder. Income on every sheep sale was Rp 3.468.241,-on intensive and Rp 5.794.982,- on semi intensive breeder and the value of R/C was 0.144. The conclusion of this study that sheep breeding system in Celawan Village Regency consisted of two maintenance system, intensive and semi intensive system which gave different effect to farmer's income. This was because intensive maintenance systems required more costs for feed and labor costs compared to semi intensive system.Keywords: income, sheep,intensive breeder and semi intensive breeder

Abstract

ABSTRACT. This study aims to determine the effect of price level on egg demand  and to analyze factors affecting egg demand price in North Tapanuli regency. In addition, this study also to investigate how big the elasticity of egg demand  and to know marketing channel eggs in North Tapanuli Regency. This research use survey method with consumer respondent unit and egg consumer. The sample was obtained by accidental sampling method and obtained 48 traders and 90 consumers. Data analysis was done descriptively and statistically. The results showed that the ras chicken egg and buras chicken egg are elastic while the duck eggs are inelastic. The demand for ras chicken eggs is significantly influenced by the number of dependents and substitute goods (tofu). Demand for duck eggs and buras chicken eggs is significantly influenced by the number of dependents. The more the number of family dependents then the number of egg demand will be higher. Influence of a good from the price of other goods because each item has a mutual relationship replace the function of usability, and also complement each other.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the reproduction and morphological performance of the stallion in Humbang Hasundutan Regency. This research was conducted in Humbang Hasundutan Regency and cement test at Livestock Breeding and Animal Feed Siborong-borong on July - August 2017. This research was conducted on 15 adult stallion. Then by using Ms Excel data application in input to know total, mean, standard deviation, coefficient of diversity. The results showed that in the macroscopic test the cement volume has a coefficient of 7.74% diversity. The color obtained is white gray. 75% viscous viscosity, 26% dilute. pH diversity coefficient 6.79%. In the microscopic test that motility has a coefficient of 9.91% diversity. The concentration has a diversity coefficient of 7.74%. 90% Abnormalities Normal, 10% abnormal. Measurements of morphology include coefficient of diversity of head length2,71, head width 4.54%, length of neck 5.04% height of shoulder1,89% of circumference of chest 3.40%, depth of breasts 6.84%, length of body3,765%, height of hip 2.16 %, Hole width3,14%, Scrotum diameter 9.45%. The coefficient of data obtained shows the number below 10 which means the sample data is taken to show a uniform value. The uniforms obtained indicate good quality score values ​​for breeding.

Abstract

Abstract. The development of the society resulting for animal protein needed such as chicken egg’s increased and affect the demand for eggs in Medan. Therefore, it is necessary to do research to know the factors that influence the demand of chicken egg in traditional market of Medan city at consumer level by using Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method or least squares method with SPSS 22.0 tool. This study was conducted from May to June 2017. This study used primary data obtained from observations and interviews of respondents. The location of the research is determined purposively and the respondent determination by accidental method. Primary data was obtained from 90 consumers of chicken eggs and added with secondary data from government agencies. Then it was analyzed by multiple linear analysis with 5 demand variables namely, the number of dependents, education, income, egg price of chicken, and age. The results showed that all variables simultaneously had a significant effect on demand. Partially only variable of dependent which have real effect to demand of chicken egg of race. So it can be concluded that the demand for eggs in Medan is only influenced by the number of dependents.

Abstract

ABSTRACT.The purpose of this research were to know the magnitude and affect of marketing margin cost on the selling price of chicken eggs and how the systematics of chicken egg distribution from producers to final consumers. This research was conducted at 7 markets that have been chosen by way of deliberate from 21 districts located in Medan City: Setia Budi Market, Sei Kambing Market, Sambu Market (sentral), Aksara Market, Pringgan Market, Simpang Limun Market, and Kampung Lalang Market. This research was conducted from October to November 2016. This study used primary data obtained from observation and interviews of respondents. Determination of respondents by accidental sampling metohd. The parameters studied were channel and agency marketing, marketing margin, farmer share and marketing efficiency.The result of this study indicated that the marketing institution involved were collecting traders, big traders and small traders. Marketing channels had four channels. The marketing efficiency on channel I is 2,16%, channel II is 1,14%, Channel III was 2,13% and channel IV was 1,72%. Farmer share channel I was 80,14%, channel II was 81,52%, channel III was 76,21% and channel was 81,15%. The conclusion of this research was that  the marketing of chicken eggs in Medan City of North Sumatera has been efficient.

Abstract

Abstract. RAYSWE DUMARIS SIHOMBING, 2018: ''Reproductive Behavior and Morphology in Horses (Equus Caballus) Males in North Tapanuli District ''. Guided by HAMDAN and TRI HESTI WAHYUNI. This study aimed to see reproduction and morphological performance of the stallion in North Tapanuli Regency. This research was conducted in North Tapanuli regency, Silait-lait Village, Hutajulu Village and Siaro Village and Superior Breeding Cattle Hall and Animal Feed (BPTU-HPT) from June to August 2017. The analysis used in this research is quantitative data analysis which includes average, standard deviation and coefficient of diversity.The variable that distinguishes the horse is the part of reproduction which is divided into two, namely the exterior, which includes the diameter of the scrotum and the interior includes the quality of sperm that are tested miscroscopically and macroscopically. Macroscopic tests include volume measurement, viscosity, color, pH. Microscopic tests of motility, concentration, and abnormality. Morphology, including head length, head width, neck length, shoulder height, chest circumference, chest depth, body length, hip width, hip height.The results showed that stallion in North Tapanuli Regency had good sperm quality with gray white color, low concentration level, pH 6.67, motility 80%, concentration 13,76 x 10 ^ 7ml / ejakulat, and abnormality 16, 6% and morphological appearance have mean, standard deviation and high diversity coefficient with head length 62,30 cm, shoulder height 158,84 cm, chest circumference 174,26 cm, chest depth 78,20 cm, body length 169,86 cm , hip height 167.12 cm and hip width 40.01 cm. In conclusion of this study, the morphology and reproduction of horses in North Tapanuli Regency has good weight and posture and good sperm quality used as males in developing horse cattle. Abstract

Abstract.The experiment aimed to find effect of cassava peel (manihot utilisima) which fermented on performance of local sheep male. The research was conducted at Jl. Bunga Rinte, Simpang Selayang, Medan, in October - December 2017 using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The experiment used 20 of local sheep male weaning with initial body weight of 10.18 ± 1kg. The treatment provided is P0 (Fermented Cassava peel 0%), P1 (Fermented Cassava peel 20%), P2 (Fermented Cassava peel 40%), and P3 (Fermented Cassava peel 60%). The observed of parameters are feed comsumption, average daily gain, feed vonversion (FCR) and income over feed cost (IOFC). The result of this research indicated that utilization of cassava peel (Manihot utiliima)fermented on performance of local sheep with the average consumption of sheep feed (g/head/day) are: 330.01; 364.99; 391.76; and 402.92, average daily gain (g/head/day): 52.86; 71.88; 84.36; and 101.80 and ration conversion: 6.42; 5.17; 4.78; dan 4.04. The conclusion of this research is the higher use of fermented cassava peel the better also the effect on improve of body weight, feed consumption and conversion of local males feed. The highest IOFC value is found in P3 with an average of Rp.276.656,01 during the research.

Abstract

Abstrak.This study aims to determine the provision of gambir solution (Uncaria gambir Roxb) to the number of E. coli colonies in broiler chickens. The research method used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments consists of P0A= Control without infection; P0B = (0%), P1=(2%), P2 = (4%), P3 = (6%), P4 = Tetracycline antibiotics (0.05%). The results showed addition of gambir solution (Uncaria gambir Roxb) gave significant effect (P<0,05) to amount of E. coli colony in broiler chicken.    E. coli colonies total in the treatment phase given average for treatment P0A, P0B, P1, P2, P3, P4, sequentially 6.97, 7.80, 6.88, 6.69, 6.34, 6.91 (CFU Log / g). Addition dose with 2-6% of gambir solution effectively reduced the number of    E. coli colonies in broiler chickens. The addition dose of gambir solution 2% was able to compensate tetracycline antibiotics to controlling E. coli in broiler chickens.

Abstract

Abstract. The Utilization of Planting White Oyster Mushroom Media Wastes (Pleurotus ostreatus) fermented by Starbio on Local Sheep male Performances. White osyter mushroom media waste is one of agricultural waste can be utilized sheep.The research have been conducting for 3 month ago. The purpose of this research is to find  out and learn the influence of the use of white osyter mushroom media waste in fermentation with starbio performances on male local sheep. This study used 20 male local sheep. The method used was a complete randomized design which consist of four treatments and five replications. The treatment consists of 4 types with utilization of planting white oyster mushroom media wastes different P0, P1, P2, and P3 are 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% respectively.The result of this reseacrh showed that P0, P1, P2, and P3 treatment were significanly differences (P≤0,01) in feed consumption, average daily gain but had no significanly (P≥0,05) in feed convertion ration ration. Based on this research can be concluded that the utilization of media wastes planted white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) fermented by Starbio on 10% level increase feed consumption, average daily gain and income over feed cost local sheep male.

Abstract

RINDU AWALIA, 2018: “Forage Substitution with Waste Media for White Oyster Mushroom Planting Fermentation on Percentage of Carcass at Local Sheep”. Supervised by TRI HESTI WAHYUNI and HAMDAN. The study aimed to determine the percentage of carcass in local sheep given the waste of fermented white oyster mushroom growing media as an alternative feed, carried out in NamoTrasi Village, Pasar VIII, October - December 2017. Using local sheep the average initial weight was 9 ± 0.25 kg. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications namely P0 = grass 60% + concentrate 40%. P1, P2, and P3 respectively are 45%, 30%, 15% grass, and fermented white oyster mushroom planting media waste 15%, 30%, 45% and 40% Concentrate. The results showed that the slaughter weight (kg / head) was: 13.67; 13,92; 13,81; and 13.78. Empty body weight (kg / tail): 8.98; 9,16; 9,10; and 9.01. Carcass weight (kg / head): 5.23; 5.40; 5,34; and 5.17. In the percentage of carcass (%): 58.12; 58.97; 58.52; and 57.33. So it can be concluded that the waste of fermented white oyster mushroom growing media can substitute forage as a feed for local sheep but cannot increase the percentage of carcass component.
