Abstract

ABSTRACT Fitase enzyme is one way to overcome high phytic acid in ration, because fitase enzyme has ability to hydrolyze phytic acid contained in feed material into inositol and glucose compound and organic phosphorus compound. This study aims to examine the effect of the addition of fitase enzyme in conventional diet on carcass broiler chickens. This research used complete randomized design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments fitase enzyme (FTU/kg) consist of  level 0 FTU (P0), 500 FTU (P1), 1000 FTU (P2), 1500 FTU (P3) and 2000 FTU (P4). Variable were observed final weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, abdomenal fat and relative weight of organ. The results showed that the treatment did not give significant (P>0,05) effect on final weight, carcass weight, carcass persentase, abdominal fat and relatife organ weight of broiler chickens. It is concluded that addition fitse enzyme on conventional diet have no effect on carcass of broiler chicken. Keywords: carcass, broiler chicken, fitase enzyme.

Abstract

The study was conducted to identify rearing management so that there is an increased risk of gastrointestinal nematode infestations in cattle in different areas. Pidie Jaya Regency represents the lowlands and Bener Meriah Regency represents the highlands. The number of samples of respondents is 52 people, consisting of 28 respondents in the lowlands and 24 respondents in the highlands who were given a questionnaire related to the production mechanism, health and environmental management of cattle. Formulation of the data is done by the Odds Ratio (OR) test, followed by the Chi-square and P-value tests. The results of the assessment of the production mechanism showed that cattle were more at risk of infesting in the lowlands (Pidie Jaya) than in the highlands (Bener Meriah) and there was a significant difference (P0.05). For health management, it can be seen that the behavior of respondents in handling health is worse in the lowlands (Pidie Jaya) than in the highlands (Bener Meriah) and there is a significant difference (P0.05). For environmental knowledge that affects the high gastrointestinal nematode infestation in cattle, it can be seen that between the lowland region (Pidie Jaya) and the highland region (Bener Meriah) there is no significant difference (P0.05) both are still low in knowledge. With appropriate maintenance management (production, health and environment), it is very supportive for the sustainability of production and productivity of a farm, including the raising of cattle.

Abstract

Efficiency is a measurement scale of a business or company in carrying out production activities. Tebing Tinggi City is one area that has potential in developing KUB Chicken cultivation. The purpose of this research was to analyze the level of technical, allocative and economic efficiency of KUB chicken farming activities in Tebing Tinggi City. Factors that affect production are as follows: DOC, Cage Area, Feed intake, OVK, Labor, while the dummy variables are the number of depletion and the quality of feed. Based on the research results, breeders in Tebing Tinggi City can be categorized as inefficient breeders In measuring the value of technical efficiency using Frontier 4.1 software where the results show have not been maximized where the overall average value of technical efficiency is 0.89, this means that all sample breeders are categorized as not being technically efficient because the efficiency value is still low. below the standard technical efficiency value of 1The same thing happened with the allocative and economic efficiency values of 0.17 and 0.19, this means that all sample farmers have not been categorized as allocative and economically efficient breeders where the allocative and economic efficiency standard value is 1. This condition can illustrate that there are still opportunities to increase production.

Abstract

The aims of this study was to look at infrared thermography images and rectal temperature of ewes during estrus that were given multinutrient block supplementation. This study used 16 ewes that had given birth at least once, were in healthy condition, and had a normal reproductive cycle. The feed ingredients used are forage, MNB I (basic MNB), MNB II (MNB I added with Moringa leaves), and MNB III (MNB II plus the mineral Zn). The parameters observed were rectal temperature, microclimate temperature conditions, and infrared thermography images taken. The data from the analysis were tested for significance using ANOVA. Providing multinutrient block feed (MNB) supplementation to sheep based on vulva temperature parameters taken from a thermal camera showed a faster estrous response compared to sheep that were not given MNB. From the results of the three types of MNB, there was no significant difference in the duration of estrus symptoms. Infrared thermography can be used to strengthen the determination of the estrus phase in ewes.
