Abstract

The research objective: to describe the influence of variation of pH and boiling time on the activities of digestive enzymes. This research used Post Test only Control Group Design, which observed variables were the enzymes activities of amylase, protease, and lipase both in duodenum and pancreas. In vivo study using 54 Rattus norvegicus, Wistar strain. The treatment animals were divided into 8 groups treatment feeding and 1 group standard feeding. The treatment feeding was a diet with high fiber of long yard beans with variation of pH (3 and 7) and boiling time (0, 5, 20, 35 min). After the treatment period of 48 days, data were analyzed through inferential statistics ( = 0.05). Results showed that pH and boiling time affect on the enzymes activities of amylase, protease, and lipase both in duodenum and pancreas. At high fiber dietary of long yard beans, increasing pH and boiling time treatments, resulting the lowest decreasing digestive enzymes activities. All feeding treatments yielded the lower enzymes activities compare with the standard diet, except the activity of the pancreatic amylase on the treatment of pH 7 – 20 min or 35 min, and duodenum lipase on pH 3- 35 min of boiling time. The highest enzymes activities in the duodenum and pancreas were on the pH 7 - 35 min of boiling time treatment.

Abstract

Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui keterlaksanaan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, kompetensi psikomotorik, dan afektif siswa melalui pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dengan melatihkan keterampilan proses yang dirancang mengikuti pola pengintegrasian kurikulum nested. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, dilaksanakan dalam tiga kali pertemuan dan melibatkan siswa kelas XI IPA 5 dan XI IPA 6 SMA Negeri 2 Surabaya. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi: lembar pengamatan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, kompetensi psikomotorik, dan afektif siswa. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pembelajaran sesuai dengan sintaks pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing mendapat kategori penilaian baik. Kompetensi psikomotorik siswa secara umum berkategori baik, kompetensi yang dominan adalah bekerjasama dan keterampilan dalam mengukur suhu dengan termometer. Kompetensi afektif siswa secara umum berkategori baik, meliputi berpendapat, jujur, dan kerjasama.

Abstract

Abstract: Result of a preliminary study showed that in general the collaborative problem solving skills, science process skills, and confidence of students of SMA Negeri 19 Surabaya, SMAN 1 Tegaldlimo, MA Roudlotun Nasyin Mojokerto are still low. Therefore, researchers developed a model instructional group science learning to enhance collaborative problem solving skills, science process skills, and confidence. The purpose of this research is to get validity of Group Science Learning (GSL) developed to improve collaborative problem solving skills, science process skills, and confidence. Methods of data collection validation using Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Group science learning model developed needs to be validated by experts through Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Group science learning model assessed the validity of the learning model based on content validity and construct validity. Results of the validation by experts through focus group discussions indicate that group science learning model to improve the collaborative problem solving skills, science process skills, and confidence in this study are included in the category of very valid. This group science learning model can be implemented in learning to improve the collaborative problem solving skills, science process skills, and confidence. Keywords:  content validity, construct validity,  and group science learning model  Abstrak: Hasil studi awal menunjukkan bahwa secara umum keterampilan pemecahan masalah kolaboratif, keterampilan proses sains, dan kepercayaan diri siswa SMA Negeri 19 Surabaya, SMA Negeri 1 Tegaldlimo, MA Roudlotun Nasyin Mojokerto masih rendah. Oleh karena itu peneliti bermaksud mengembangkan model group science learning. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan validitas model Group Science Learning  yang dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah kolaboratif, keterampilan proses sains, dan kepercayaan diri. Metode pengumpulan data validasi menggunakan Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Validitas model pembelajaran Group Science Learning dinilai berdasarkan validitas isi dan validitas konstruk. Hasil validasi oleh pakar melalui FGD menunjukkan bahwa model Group Science Learning untuk meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah kolaboratif, keterampilan proses sains, dan kepercayaan diri dalam penelitian ini termasuk dalam kategori sangat valid. Model Group Science Learning dapat diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah kolaboratif, keterampilan proses sains, dan kepercayaan diri.Kata Kunci: Validitas isi, validitas konstruk,  dan group science learning model

Abstract

Abstract. Responsibility as life skills and career 21st century. There is still limited knowledge and have not been integrated in a comprehensive manner. The goal of this study is to identify student’s responsibility Department PMIPA of Lambung Mangkurat University in learning Physics. This study used a qualitative approach with survey method. Subjects were 156 students of biology education; chemistry education, physical education, and science education are a program fundamental physics course. Data collected from questionnaires, observations, and interviews. Data were analized by descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The results of questionnaire showed that most students feel responsible for participating, respect for others, teamwork, leadership, and expression with the criteria of good/excellent, but the observations and interviews show that  a lot of student are difficulties in leading and expression, as well as some students still deficient/sufficient in participating, respect for others, and team work. Keywords: Responsibility, Fundamental Physics Abstrak.  Tanggung jawab sebagai keterampilan hidup dan berkarir abad 21 ternyata masih diajarkan sebatas pengetahuan dan belum diintegrasikan secara komprehensif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi tanggung jawab mahasiswa Jurusan PMIPA Universitas Lambung Mangkurat dalam pembelajaran fisika. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode survey. Subyek penelitian adalah 156 mahasiswa pendidikan biologi, pendidikan kimia, pendidikan fisika, dan pendidikan sains yang memprogram mata kuliah fisika dasar. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, pengamatan, dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil angket menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa merasa bertanggung jawab dalam berpartisipasi, menghormati orang lain, kerja sama, memimpin, dan menyampaikan pendapat dengan kriteria baik/sangat baik, tetapi hasil pengamatan maupun wawancara menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa kesulitan dalam memimpin dan menyampaikan pendapat, serta beberapa mahasiswa masih kurang/cukup dalam berpartisipasi, menghormati orang lain, dan kerja sama. Kata kunci: Tanggung Jawab, Fisika Dasar

Abstract

The aim of the research was to describe the interaction mechanism of Fe with yard long bean dietary fiber macromolecules at gastrointestinal system in-vitro, through the combination of acidity and boiling time. The research based on the factorial experimental design, with two independent variables, i.e. acidity medium (pH 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)and boiling time (0/raw, 5, 20, 35 minutes). Dependent variables were iron binding percentage, effective stability constants (Keff), and adsorption constants (Kads). Scatchard and Langmuir graph methods through Keff and Kads were then applied to determine the mechanism of iron interaction. The results of the research showed that the highest binding Fe by dietary fiber at pH 7- raw, and lowest at pH 3- boiling time 35 minutes. The iron binding pattern by dietary fiber at gastrointestinal system is through formation of complex compound that more prominent than physically adsorption, and involved two types of specific binding sites, one of which showed a higher affinity than the other.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to describe the changes of sacharide monomer and functional groups of Fe-dietary fiber complex at boiling with acidic medium. The research was designed as the Pre test-Post test Control Group, the treatment of variation pH (pH 3 and 7) and boiling time (raw and 35 minutes). The dependent variables were sacharide monomer of dietary fiber and functional groups of Fe-dietary fiber complex. FeSO4. 7 H2O was added as source of mineral Fe. The results of the study showed: 1) At pH 3-boiling time 35’ treatment, no changes to kinds of dietary fiber sacharide monomer, however changes of monomer content. 2) At pH 3-35’ treatment, the Fe binding both to lignin and cellulose at –OH groups, but it was not able to bind hemicellulose. At raw-pH 7, the Fe binding to lignin at –OH, -COOH groups; to cellulose at –OH, -CH2-O-CH2-, -COO groups; while to hemicellulose at –OH groups.

Abstract

Abstrak. Yakon merupakan tanaman asli dari dataran tinggi Andes di Amerika Selatan yang selama berabad-abad telah digunakan untuk makanan maupun obat tradisional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas antibakteri dan kadar fenolik total ekstrak daun yakon dengan variasi daerah budidaya tanam dan lama waktu ekstraksi. Daun yakon diperoleh dari daerah Magetan (900 mdpl) dan Wonosobo (1200 mdpl). Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan adalah metode dekoksi selama 0, 5, 10, 15 dan 20 menit. Penentuan kadar fenolik total menggunakan metode Folin-Ciocalteu dengan spektrofotometer UVVis pada 785 nm. Uji efektivitas antibakteri menggunakan metode difusi cakram dengan konsentrasi 200, 400, 600, 800, dan 1000 ppm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar fenolik total tertinggi terdapat pada sampel Magetan dan pada waktu ekstraksi 0 menit yaitu sebesar 158.45 mg CAE/g ekstrak. Aktivitas antibakteri tertinggi ditunjukkan oleh sampel Magetan dengan konsentrasi 1000 ppm yaitu sebesar 7.3 mm dan tergolong antibakteri yang sedang. Data dianalisis melalui Anova one way dan Kruskal-wallis. Data statistik sampel Magetan yang diperoleh dengan uji post-hoc LSD menunjukkan bahwa kadar fenolik total yang dihasilkan pada menit ke-0 hingga menit ke-20 waktu ekstraksi mengalami penurunan secara signifikan. Untuk data statistik sampel Wonosobo yang diperoleh dengan uji post-hoc Mann-Whitney menunjukkan bahwa kadar fenolik total yang dihasilkan pada menit ke-0 hingga menit ke-5 ekstraksimengalami penurunan secara signifikan namun tidak berbeda nyata sampai menit ke-20 waktu ekstraksi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tempat tumbuh daun yakon paling optimum adalah di Magetan dengan kadar fenolik total paling efektif sebesar 158.45 mg CAE/g ekstrak dan menunjukkan aktivitas antibakteri tertinggi konsentrasi 1000 ppm yaitu sebesar 7.3 mm.Kata Kunci: Daun yakon, ketinggian tempat tumbuh, lama ekstraksi. Abstract. Yacon is native plant of the Andes in South America for centuries have been used for food and traditional medicines. Research is aimed to determine the effectiveness of antibacterial and total phenolic content from yacon extract leaves with the variation of cultivation area and length of time the extraction.Yacon leaves obtained from Magetan (900 masl) and Wonosobo (1200 masl). Decoction used for method of extraction with 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes. Determination of total phenolic levels using the FolinCiocalteu method with UV-Vis spectrophotometer at 785 nm. Diffusion of discs used for antibacterial test by concentration 200, 400, 600, 800, and 1000 ppm. The results showed the highest total phenolic content in the Magetan sample and at the time of extraction of 0 minutes that is equal to 158.45 mg CAE/g extract. The highest antibacterial activity in the Magetan sample with a concentration of 1000 ppm is 7.3 mm and was classified as medium. One way Anova and Kruskal-wallis were used for statistical tests. The statistical data of the Magetan sample obtained by the LSD post-hoc test showed that the total phenolic content produced in the 0 to 20 minute extraction time decreased significantly. Mann-Whitney post-hoc test on Wonosobo samples showed that the total phenolic levels produced in the 0 to 5 minutes of fermentation decreased significantly but not significantly different until 20 minute extraction time. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the most optimum place to grow yakon leaves is in Magetan with the most effective total phenolic content of 158.45 mg CAE / g extract and shows the highest antibacterial activity concentration of 1000 ppm that is equal to 7.3 mm. Abstract

Yacon roots syrup is a processed product with high FOS content. FOS is a prebiotic compound that can increase the production of SCFA. SCFA can cause the pH in the colon to decrease which results in the bioavailability of Fe. The purpose of this research were to determine the effect of Yakon roots syrup supplementation on the bioavailability of Fe and the relationship between SCFA and Fe bioavailability. There were 43 R. norvegicus that divided into 3 treatment groups, namely the intake of yacon roots syrup supplements, commercial FOS, and water with a treatment duration of 48 days. The feces from each group were dry digested and then tested using SSA to determine the Fe content. Data were analyzed through the Aova one way, post hoc, and Pearson product moment correlation with a significance degree of 5%. The results showed that the significance value of Yakon roots syrup on Fe bioavailability was 0.034 and SCFA for Fe bioavailability had a coefficient correlation of 0.834. This can be interpreted yacon roots syrup supplementation could increase and significantly affect the bioavailability of Fe and there is a strong relationship between total SCFA levels and the average percentage of Fe bioavailability. The higher the SCFA levels in the colon, the higher the bioavailability of Fe. Key words : Fe bioavailability, FOS, yacon roots, SCFA

Abstract

Prebiotics are compounds that cannot be digested by digestive enzymes and can stimulate the growth of probiotics. Fructooligosaccharides are the most commonly used prebiotics. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving prebiotic syrup of yakon tuber to the activity of amylase, protease, and lipase enzymes in the duodenum of Rattus norvegicus. The samples of this research were yakon tubers from the Wonosobo area and the experimental animal Rattus norvegicus. Experimental animals were divided into 4 groups. The group that was fed with water supplements (P0 = negative control), prebiotic syrup of yakon tuber S0 (P1), prebiotic syrup of yakon tuber S1 (P2), and commercial FOS (P3). Determination of enzyme activity of amylase, lipase, and protease using UV-Vis spectrophotometer instrument. Statistical analysis used was ANOVA and Post Hoc = LSD. The results showed that the administration of prebiotic syrup of yakon tubers S1 could significantly increase the activity of amylase, lipase and protease enzymes (P < 0.05). In the provision of prebiotic syrup of yacon tubers S0 can increase the activity of amylase and protease enzymes, while the lipase enzyme has no significant effect. Abstract

The research objectives were to determine: 1) the effect of yacon tuber syrup supplementation on on rat bone calcium levels 2) the correlation of the total amount of short chain fatty acids (ALRP) to the calcium levels of the femur. The experimental animal used was 36 Rattus norvegicus. Were divided into 3 groups of supplement treatment: 1) aquadest, 2) yacon tubers syrup, 3) commercial FOS. After 48 days of treatment, the femur bone was analyzed for calcium levels by the digestion method. The instruments used were HPLC to test ALRP levels, GC to test FOS levels, and AAS to test calcium levels. Data analysis was done through the One Way Anova test (α = 0.05), the Post Hoc LSD, and the product moment correlation. The results of the analysis showed 1) The increase in average calcium levels from the K(-) group to P1 was 1.211 mg/mL and the post hoc statistical test between the K(-) and P1 (p>0.05) groups showed no significant difference between yacon tuber syrup supplementation on calcium levels. mouse bones. 2) Correlation analysis shows the correlation coefficient of r = 0.394 so that there is a low relationship between the total amount of ALRP and calcium levels in the femur bones of experimental animals.
