Abstract

Learning achievements of X TKR1 SMK Negeri Semarang 7 is low, especially on science lesson with an average value of the school year repetition scieence lesson 2010/2011 is 60 (before remidial) with the percentage of students who graduated only 44% percent when passing grade of science lesson is 75. This is certainly a concern to researchers as a science teacher because SMK Negeri 7 Semarang having a good reputation well known in Central Java. This is because the characteristics of a class X TKR1 like to play, and the attitude of solidarity of the group must be upheld, even for things that are less good. It certainly is disturbing the learning process. In an effort to overcome these problems a teacher as a researcher, trying to apply the methods of the game in groups, with the hope that the game will make learning a fun atmosphere, as claimed by Taufan Surana (2008:1) that a pleasant atmosphere is a necessary prerequisite to children love to learn. The purpose of this study were (a) To improve science learning outcomes in class X TKR 1 (b) To determine a significant improvement in student learning outcomes. Research subject is X TKR1 SMK N 7 Semarang, which is located in Lima Jl.Simpang Semarang. Research will be conducted in May to June. The analysis performed is descriptive analysis, the credibility test using the method of triangulation of data sources. The results of application of joyful learning model using games guess my word is as follows: (a) a large increase in the average classical is 10.4 (Classical 83.4 average at cycle 1 to 93.9), (b) a large increase in the number of students who qualify for passing gradeis 20% from 77% in cycle 1 to 97% in cycle 2. Teachers are expected to be able to apply the learning model “Joyful learning” in schools so that learning becomes more enjoyable. The school should be supported by improving facilities and pre facilities, in order to create a fun learning atmosphere for students (Joyful Learning).

Abstract

Performance assessment instruments so far were still general, not specifically assessing expected performance in each practicum. This study was aimed to develop instruments to assess generic science skills in basic chemistry practicum. ADDIE development model was used as a methodology in this research with data collection methods through observation and questionnaires. The subjects of this study were 3rd-semester students taking basic chemistry practicum courses at the University. Instrument validation was done by content analysis and reliability test between the rater as the methods to reliability test of the rubrics. The results of validity and reliability tests showed that the instruments meet valid and reliable criteria for the assessment instruments of generic science skills, especially direct observation skills, symbolic language, and logic inference in basic chemistry practicum. The reliability test showed the average value of interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) in the redox and electrochemical practicum was 0.780; in chemical kinetics practicum 0.660; and in the functional group introduction practicum 0.639. The results of the feasibility test showed that the percentage of positive responses was 92.08% and negative responses were 7.92%, so it can be stated that the product received a positive response. Based on the results of the study, the assessment instruments developed were declared to be suitable as assessment instruments.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antimkroba dari ekstrak daun sirsak terhadap Bacillus subtilis dan Esherichia coli. Ekstrak daun sirsak diperoleh dengan cara ekstraksi menggunakan metode Soxhletasi dengan pelarut n-heksana dan metanol. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah ekstrak daun sirsak. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode soxletasi dengan 8 sirkulasi. Identifikasi senyawa antimikroba menggunakan metode cakram/ paper disc. Dari hasil penelitian ekstraksi daun sirsak tersebut membuktikan bahwa ekstrak daun sirsak mempunyai aktivitas antimikroba terhadap Bacillus subtillis dan Eschericia coli.

Abstract

Peningkatan akan kebutuhan energi terus meningkat seiring berjalannya waktu, namun peningkatan kebutuhan energy yang terjadi menimbulkan dampak semakin menipisnya pasokan ketersediaan bahan bakar fosil yang notabene merupakan sumber daya alam yang tak terbarui, disisi lain banyak limbah buah nangka (Artocarpus heterophyllus) yang sebenarnya berpotensi untuk diolah sebagai biofuel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan alkohol dari limbah nangka (Artocarpus heterophyllus) melalui proses fermentasi menggunakan saccharomyces cereviseae. Limbah buah nangka dimanfaatkan sebagai campuran bahan bakar minyak berbasis bahan dari biomassa (biofuel). Proses pembuatan alcohol dari limbah buah nangka diawali dengan pembuatan starter, medium fermentasi, proses fermentasi hingga mendapatkan alkohol dilanjutkan dengan proses pemurnian dengan cara destilasi. Analisis kadar alkohol dilakukan dengan metode berat jenis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alkohol yang dihasilkan dari limbah buah nangka (Artocarpus heterophyllus) adalah 20 % dengan waktu fermentasi 12 hari.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran SiMaYang Tipe II terhadap penguasaan konsep dan attitudes toward chemistry, serta respon peserta didik terhadap model pembelajaran SiMaYang Tipe II pada materi larutan penyangga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Berdasarkan hasil     uji-t pada penguasaan konsep, diperoleh bahwa thitung = 2,481 dan ttabel = 1,668, sehingga thitung > ttabel. Di sisi lain, hasil uji-t pada attitudes toward chemistry menunjukkan bahwa thitung = 0,327 dan ttabel = 1,668, sehingga thitung  ttabel. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran SiMaYang Tipe II efektif terhadap penguasaan konsep dan tidak efektif terhadap attitudes toward chemistry pada materi larutan penyangga. Di sisi lain, persentase respon peserta didik terhadap model pembelajaran SiMaYang Tipe II adalah 64,11% dengan kategori “baik”.

Abstract

Nabeez dates water is one of the fruits that is used as infused water. Dates contain flavonoids, phenols, alkaloids, and beta D-glucans which have anticancer and anti-tumor activity. Ajwa Dates have a higher phenol content than Sukkari Dates and Khalas Dates. Cancer is the number 5 deadliest disease in Indonesia and number 2 in the world after cardiovascular disease. The use of natural ingredients is an alternative for the treatment of this disease. One of the natural ingredients can be used is ajwa dates. The method of testing for anti-tumor and anti-cancer activity uses the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method with shrimp larvae of Artemia salina leach as animals for testing. The results showed that the water of ajwa nabeez dates immersion for 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours has the potential as anti-tumor and anti-cancer because it has an LC50 value of 676.39 ppm; 720.84 ppm; and 903.20 ppm. Phytochemical test results have shown positive samples containing tannins, phenolics, flavonoids, saponins, and alkaloids. The test results of FTIR spectophotometry resulted in the appearance of wave numbers indicating the presence of functional groups -OH, C-H, C = O, C-C (sp3), and C-O.©2020 JNSMR UIN Walisongo. Abstract

Scientific literacy is an ability that must be had by pre-service teachers. This research aimed to find out the scientific literacy's ability of pre-service teachers in chemistry education. This research was descriptive with quantitative approach. Participants were taken by simple random sampling techniques, the participants are chemistry education students. The data source comes from scientific literacy tests with socio-scientific issues and open-ended question description tests. The validity of the data was tested using a data triangulation technique, in which researchers compare data obtained through test instruments and interview results. The results of the data analysis showed the scientific literacy of chemistry education students was dominant in the nominal and functional categories with a percentage of 33.2% and 24.2%, conceptual and multidimensional categories 13.7%; 4.4%; and 24.5% of students did not give answers the tests.

Abstract

ICT learning media mostly emphasize students content and motivation. The emphasis on protecting the environment as a form of development of sustainable living awareness is often considered not significant. Accordingly, many youth students begin to lose development of sustainable living awareness. This study aimed to produce and evaluate a learning media based on games in Android mobile learning- Chemsdro (Chemistry in Android) oriented to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) on the topic rate of reaction. Characteristic  of Chemsdro Learning Media was the topic of rate of reaction created in the form of games that embedded in android mobile phones with game characters who have a mission to protect the environment. This learning tool was designed to give motivation for students to care about the environment. This research was Research and Development model, it was adopted the steps from Thiagarajaan including define, design, develop, and dissemination steps. The subjects of this study were students grade XI of SMA 1 Kendal. The product validation showed that the Chemsdro learning media was a very appropriate category to use with the Aiken V coefficient of 0.9. Student assessment of Chemsdro learning media also showed a good category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi polimer kelas XII SMK Ma’arif NU 1 Sumpiuh. Model pengembangan 4D dari Thiagarajan yaitu Define, Design, Develop dan Disseminate digunakan dalam penelitian. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XII SMK Ma’arif NU 1 Sumpiuh. Hasil validasi modul oleh keseluruhan ahli memperoleh skor rata-rata sebesar 89,81% yang mana masuk pada kategori sangat layak. Hasil penilaian peserta didik terhadap modul menunjukkan persentase rata-rata sebesar 86,57% (sangat layak), sementara keseluruhan persentase skor rata-rata sebesar 89% dengan kategori sangat layak.
