Abstract

This study focuses on student problems related to limited ability to communicate in English in class VII-A Pamekasan Middle School. The Free Story method is used in this study, along with picture card media. This study used a classroom action research design which was carried out in two cycles. The results showed that in cycle I, 18 students (66.67%) had the same or higher speaking ability score than the KKM, while nine students (33.33%) had lower scores than the KKM. Because these results did not meet the success criteria, namely at least 85% of students had scores equal to or above the KKM, the research would continue in the next cycle by first revising some of the results. Abstract

The educational values that will be discussed in Agus Sunyoto Jendra Hayuningrat Pangruwating Diyu's novel are values that embody the greatness of humanity and are composed in customs, religion, culture, and local wisdom, etc. This study examines 4 (four) values of character education using the literary novel Jendra Hayuningrat Pangruwating Diyu by Agus Sunyoto as a research object. The data collection process consists of identifying, classifying, and qualitatively characterizing the data. The research data is presented as quotations of words, phrases, sentences, clauses, or discourse from the novel Agus Sunyoto Sastra Jendra Hayuningrat Pangruwating Diyu. The data is then identified, classified according to the character education environment, and given an interpretive explanation based on the theory used in this study. This research focuses on character education in the form of: 1) religion, 2) friendly/communicative, 3) scientific spirit, and 4) responsibility. In the literary novel Jendra Hayuningrat Pangruwating diyu, character education takes the form of: 1) faith which is reflected in the behavior of the character Sudrun who always tries to open the secret walls of divinity to get closer to God Almighty. 2) Sociable or communicative, shown by Sudrun's personality in building communication with everyone he meets, including teachers, friends, and people who are his students. 3). The character Sudrun shows his love for science by looking for useful information in books, holy books and ancient fairy tales. 4) Sudrun's character shows responsibility by helping individuals in trouble, caring for foundlings, and rescuing dogs that are near death. Abstract

The character and morality of students must be maximally cultivated so that they are not only superior in the academic field but also in the non-academic field to support their identity in the midst of globalization. Therefore, instilling noble character in Indonesian students is the most urgent matter that needs immediate attention. Through this study, it is believed that concepts or tactics for fostering noble character among Indonesian students can be found. This research was carried out using a literature review, which requires the collection and assessment of sources and facts from published works such as books, journals, papers, and theses. Data collection uses semantic and symbolic reading techniques. Based on the research findings, character education must still be carried out in higher education in order to improve and cultivate noble character among students. Teachers are responsible for fostering student character and morals. Through outstanding lecturer lessons in an academic setting, students will emulate lecturers and look up to them as role models.

Abstract

This research examines a critical analysis of the formation of media narratives and student perspectives around the 2024 Presidential Election using a case study at Madura University. In a dynamic democratic framework, the media significantly influences public opinion through framing and agenda setting. This research employs a qualitative methodology using in-depth interviews to investigate students' impressions of existing media narratives. The results showed that print and digital media frame political topics in ways that can influence students' political perspectives. Although some students understand the influence of these narratives, different levels of media literacy affect their susceptibility to deception. This study underlines the importance of higher education in improving political awareness and media literacy among young people. Consequences of this study include contributions to political and communication theory, as well as recommendations for improving media literacy in educational institutions. The constraints of this study, including the limited sample coverage, underscore the need for further research to understand the influence of media narratives on different groups of society. This research aims to provide insights to policymakers and academics regarding political and media education.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the speaking skills learning strategies applied by teachers at the Al Fatah Education Foundation in the context of learning English as a foreign language (EFL). Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study involved EFL students and English teachers at the foundation as research subjects. Data was collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and questionnaires that were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results showed that teachers used various learning strategies, such as role plays, group discussions, presentations, and information gap activities to improve students' speaking skills. These strategies have proven to be effective in creating an interactive learning environment and supporting the development of students' speaking skills in a more authentic context. In addition, constructive feedback from teachers and the use of learning technology also contribute to the improvement of students' speaking skills. This study provides important insights into the application of speaking learning strategies in EFL and suggests that educators should pay attention to the diversity of techniques that can increase student participation as well as their motivation in speaking English. These findings are also expected to be a reference for curriculum development and further research in the field of foreign language teaching.

Abstract

Branta Pesisisr, Kecamatan Tlanakan, Provinsi Pamekasan, untuk mewujudkan masyarakat pesisir yang sejahtera diperlukan kreativitas dan inovasi untuk mendorong dan menjaga ketahanan pangan guna memberikan solusi yang efektif untuk pengentasan kemiskinan.Menurut temuan peneliti dan peserta KKN Unira di desa pesisir Branta, masih terdapat kendala yang harus diatasi, antara lain sebagai berikut: sistem ekonomi masyarakat masih bergantung pada alam, hasil olahan masih tradisional, dan pemasaran produk masih dilakukan. manual karena keterbatasan modal dan perizinan. Metode yang digunakan merupakan perpaduan antara pengetahuan peserta KKN dan DPL. Serta pendekatan berdasarkan prinsip bahwa pengetahuan, teknologi, dan inovasi yang diterima masyarakat desa Branta Pesisir harus melalui proses mendengarkan, memahami, mencoba, mengevaluasi, menerima, dan menerapkan. Hasil pelaksanaan PKM in menunjukkan masyarakat Desa Branta Pesisir mampu merencanakan dan menganalisis pengembangan produk unggulan, serta mengembangkan inovasi baik dalam proses produksi maupun produk akhir.

Abstract

The Mind Mapping method is a creative way for each student to generate ideas, record what is learned, or plan new assignments. Based on this background, the researchers are interested in taking the title " improvement " ability write pantun with use mind mapping method on student class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Pegantenan " . This research is in the form of classroom action research. The research process was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of; planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data was collected by means of observation, giving lift, and tests. Based on The results of the analysis concluded as follows: (1) The activities of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Pegantenan Pamekasan in writing rhymes with the Mind Mapping method experienced an increase in activity, namely the first cycle of 31 activities, and the second cycle of 46 activities consisting of enthusiastically making concept maps in accordance with the researcher's instructions, asking questions with the researcher to perfect the concept map, and doing the task according to the researcher's instructions. (2) Student responses to the use of the Mind Mapping method in order to increase the ability to write rhymes experienced a positive increase, based on the results of the analysis of student responses to the application of the Mind Mapping method in the first cycle and 48% in the second cycle. This percentage is an accumulation of the results of student responses and is described in chapter IV. (3) Test results In increasing the ability to write rhymes with the Mind Mapping method , the average value increase is positive, namely in the first cycle, the score is 69 and the second cycle is 71. Abstract

Character building is very important for us to review, because character building is one form of the government's efforts to develop the next generation of young people with character. To make this happen, support from all parties is needed, one of which is the educational forum. Education can be used as one of the perfect solutions to shape and develop the personality of students. Even so, there needs to be extra effort from educators so that this can be done. Within the scope of character education can be made through personal learning that is also not exclusive and is carried out continuously so that students can know and practice it in everyday life. Abstract

Vocabulary mastery is very crucial in the process of learning a language, such as English. to help students increase the dominance of this vocabulary, there are various methods that can be done. one of which means using Working with Words through the Game Category. Vocabulary learning by applying the Working with Words method through Category Games showed the results: 11 students with a level of vocabulary dominance increased to 65% to 79%, with relative predicates; 7 students used the higher level of vocabulary dominance to 80% to 89%, with a Good predicate; and five students used vocabulary dominance increased to 90% to 100%, using the Very Good predicate.
