Abstract

Covid-19 is a virus that has spread to almost all parts of the world. This virus was confirmed to have entered Indonesian territory in March 2020. The spread of this virus caused losses not only in the economic field but also in the education sector. In the field of education, Covid-19 overhauled the Indonesian learning system, all learning activities that were originally face-to-face directly are now carried out online starting from elementary school to tertiary level. This research is a research that shows the impact of online learning activities at IAIN Metro Lampung. The data in this study are in the form of questionnaires that are distributed through Google forms links and are described qualitatively. The negative impact of Covid-19 students' understanding of the material is deemed to be less than optimal and lecturers are less able to conduct a comprehensive assessment of students so learning is less effective. The positive impact of Covid-19 students can master the online learning platform used by lecturers so that they are ready to become teachers who are able to face the demands of the industrial era 4.0. The subjects consisted of all Tadris Mathematics students at IAIN Metro Lampung.

Abstract

This research was a quasi experiment is aimed to know about the influence of cooperative learning method application to cooperative script method about understanding of student is mathematical concept.  The research design was pos-tes only.  Research population was the whole of eight-class student in second semester of metro three state Junior High Schoolin academic year of 2012/2013 by the samples VIII A and VIII B that were chosen from six classes by cluster random sampling method.  The data of research was student’s mathematical concept understanding and character.  According to the data analyisis result, it was obtained that the average of student’s mathematical concept understanding, and the achievement of behavior character and student’s social skill in cooperative learning model to cooperative script method were better than conventional learning.  The conclusion of research is the cooperative learning model with cooperative script method are better applied to the understanding of student’s mathematical concept.Keyword: Cooperative Script, mathematical concept

Abstract

The aim of this dedication is that it is expected that the community learning grade 4 elementary schools around the area will no longer find it difficult to understand mathematics after the introduction of learning that links mathematics with everyday life (Realistic Mathematics). This dedication uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The props used in this service are traditional snacks in the form of triangles and tempeh. Dedication was carried out for 4 meetings with 20 students. The results of the evaluation of the implementation of community service: 1) The community learns at the elementary school level (SD) get new knowledge and learning experiences in mathematics by using Realistic Mathematics (MR). 2) Learning using Realistic Mathematics (MR) increases students' interest and curiosity about mathematics. 3) By using Realistic Mathematics (MR) learning, students' understanding of mathematics becomes easier, so mathematics is no longer considered difficult. 4) The learning process becomes more colorful and meaningful with the use of Realistic Mathematics (MR) learning. 5) People learn to feel mathematics is a pleasant lesson seen from their enthusiasm when the learning process is ongoing.

Abstract

In the term scaffolding itself can be interpreted that the word "scaffold" which is often used in building work, which is one of the temporary structures that help a job that can complete the work that is experiencing difficulties, so it cannot be done in the job. In this case scaffolding can help the achievement that cannot be solved individually. Then we can develop the term so that it can be said that one of the formation provided by the teacher or peer group, even his parents in supporting learning, in this case has a high ability factor that is owned by someone. In scaffolding the teacher is able to complete tasks or concepts in terms of learning that can be managed individually. In this case educators only provide skills in innovation or new knowledge from those who have been given assignments that are outside the area within the limits of students' learning abilities. In scaffolding mathematics learning in this case hopefully can make the formation of traits in learning better, so that in the process of building students can carry out their own, even have their own knowledge in learning. In this matter discussed are the notions of scaffolding, cognitive learning theory, the strengths and weaknesses of scaffolding, the learning method, the steps of the learning method and even the application of problem solving to mathematics. So that there is an alternative strategy implementation in the application of scaffolding which includes stages such as exploitation, reviewing, restructuring, and developing conceptual thinking. Therefore, this journal will discuss it all. Hopefully it can make the development of changes that support the process of learning mathematics at this time.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar berupa E-LKPD berbasis pendekatan open-ended berbantuan aplikasi flipbook dalam memahami konsep lingkaran yang valid dan praktis. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian pengembangan Research and Development (R&D). Penelitian menghasilkan produk E-LKPD berbasis pendekatan open-ended pada materi lingkaran. Prosedur penelitian yang digunakan yaitu model pengembangan Borg and Gall yang terdiri dari potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi desain, uji coba produk, dan revisi produk. Tahap uji coba produk dilakukan kepada 30 peserta didik kelas VIII D MTs Ma'arif 02 Kota Gajah. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi ahli materi, lembar validasi ahli media, dan angket respon peserta didik. Hasil penilaian dari validasi ahli materi dan ahli media menghasilkan nilai rata-rata persentase 93,05% dengan kriteria validasi yaitu “Sangat Valid”. Hasil analisis dari angket respon peserta didik pada tahap uji coba terbatas memperoleh rata-rata persentase sebesar 85,55% dengan kriteria kepraktisan “Sangat Praktis”. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Pengembangan E-LKPD Matematika Berbasis Open-Ended valid dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to produce teaching materials in the form of ethnomathematics-based worksheets on Lampung batik motifs in understanding valid and practical geometric transformation concepts. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D). This research produced a product in the form of ethnomathematics-based worksheets on transformation material at SMP PGRI Kesumadadi. The research procedure used is the Borg and Gall development model which goes through several stages including: potentials and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product testing, and product revision. In the product trial stage, a limited trial was carried out involving 15 class IX students at SMP PGRI Kesumadadi. The research instruments used were material expert validation sheets, media expert validation sheets, and student response questionnaires. The results of this development research show that the assessment of the material expert validation obtained an average validation result of 88.12% with the validation criterion of "Very Valid". Furthermore, the results of the validation of media experts obtained an average validation result of 91.66% with the validation criterion of "Very Valid". The results of the analysis of the student response questionnaire at the limited trial stage obtained a percentage of 92.6% with the practicality criterion "Very Practical".

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kendala yang dihadapi siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika dan mengidentifikasi jenis kesalahan yang sering terjadi. Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif, penelitian ini melibatkan 29 siswa sebagai subjek, dengan enam siswa terpilih mewakili berbagai jenis kesalahan berdasarkan nilai tes mereka. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan terbesar yang dilakukan siswa adalah pada tahap penulisan jawaban akhir (35,9%), disebabkan oleh ketidakpahaman terhadap perintah soal dan kesalahan pada tahap sebelumnya. Kesalahan kedua adalah kesalahan keterampilan proses (27,6%), yang terjadi akibat kurangnya ketelitian dan terburu-buru dalam perhitungan. Kesalahan ketiga adalah transformasi (20,7%), yang disebabkan oleh ketidakmahiran dalam mengubah bahasa soal menjadi model matematika dan kurangnya pemahaman metode penyelesaian. Kesalahan terakhir adalah dalam memahami masalah (15,9%), yang dipengaruhi oleh ketidakpahaman terhadap perintah soal dan kelalaian dalam menulis informasi yang diberikan. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan yang lebih dalam mengenai kesalahan yang sering dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika sehingga dapat digunakan untuk merancang strategi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif guna meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita dan mengasah keterampilan berpikir kritis mereka.

Abstract

Mathematical communication skills are essential for students to develop in mathematics learning. These skills involve expressing ideas, explaining problem-solving procedures, and constructing logical arguments systematically. However, observations and interviews at SMP Negeri 9 Metro revealed that students' mathematical communication skills remain low. They struggle to write mathematical models, represent problems visually, and convert contextual situations into appropriate mathematical symbols or notations. This condition is further aggravated by teacher-centered learning and using less engaging and contextual media. This study examines the effectiveness of Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in improving students' mathematical communication skills. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a post-test only control group design. The sample consisted of two eighth-grade classes selected through purposive random sampling: class VIII F, which used the LKPD before revision, and class VIII D, which used the LKPD after revision. The research instrument was a mathematical communication test, while the data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test. The results showed no significant difference in students' mathematical communication skills between the classes before and after the revision of the PBL-based LKPD, with a significance value of 0.876 (> 0.05). These findings indicate that the revised LKPD has not yet fully incorporated elements that support communication skills, such as tasks promoting discussion, written and oral expression, and adequate visual representation. Therefore, future development of LKPD should integrate real-life contexts, engaging visualization, and collaborative activities to enhance students' ability to communicate mathematical ideas. Keterampilan komunikasi matematis merupakan kompetensi penting yang harus dimiliki peserta didik dalam pembelajaran matematika. Keterampilan ini mencakup kemampuan mengungkapkan ide, menjelaskan prosedur pemecahan masalah, serta menyusun argumen logis secara sistematis. Namun, hasil observasi dan wawancara di SMP Negeri 9 Metro menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik masih rendah. Mereka mengalami kesulitan dalam menuliskan model matematika, merepresentasikan masalah secara visual, serta mengubah situasi kontekstual menjadi simbol atau notasi yang sesuai. Kondisi ini diperburuk oleh pembelajaran yang berpusat pada guru serta penggunaan media yang kurang menarik dan kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji efektivitas Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain post-test only control group. Sampel terdiri dari dua kelas VIII yang dipilih melalui purposive random sampling, yakni kelas VIII F sebagai kelompok yang menggunakan LKPD sebelum revisi dan kelas VIII D sebagai kelompok yang menggunakan LKPD setelah revisi. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis, dengan analisis data menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik pada kelas sebelum dan sesudah revisi LKPD berbasis PBL, dengan nilai signifikansi 0,876 (> 0,05). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa revisi LKPD belum optimal dalam memuat unsur yang mendukung pengembangan komunikasi matematis, seperti penugasan diskusi, penyampaian ide secara tertulis maupun lisan, dan representasi visual. Oleh karena itu, pengembangan LKPD selanjutnya perlu mempertimbangkan integrasi konteks nyata, visualisasi menarik, serta aktivitas kolaboratif agar peserta didik dapat berlatih mengomunikasikan ide matematika secara efektif.
