Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of learning process while improving learning outcomes and students’ responses using a guided inquiry-based learning model on heat and transfer. This research method uses pre-experimental research with a research design of one group pretest and posttest with a research target of 22 students of class VII SMP Semen Gresik. The techniques of collecting data were observation, tests, and questionnaire and then was analyzed quantitatively and descriptively. The results that were obtained showed that the mode value of the results of the implementation of learning activities at the first and second meetings was included in the criteria for implementing very good learning, while the results of the students’ responses showed a positive response with the acquisition of very good criteria. The result of N-Gain test analysis acquire in the medium category so that students learning outcomes experienced a significant increase. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that there is an effect of guided inquiry-based learning in improving the learning outcomes of Class VII Junior High School students in the matter of heat and its transfer.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the improvement of students' science process skills by applying a guided inquiry learning model assisted by PhET interactive simulations in one of public Junior High School in Sidoarjo. This study used pre-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design. This study involved 17 students of class VII D in the Academic Year 2021/2022. Data collection methods through a observation, questionnaire, and test. The instrument of this study used observation sheets of learning implementation, science process skills tests (pretest and posttest), and student response questionnaires. The results of this study showed that the learning implementation had been carried out very well at each meeting. The learning outcomes of students’ science process skills increased significantly, based on the analysis of the average N-gain score in the medium criteria. Students gave positive responses to the learning that has been done with very good criteria. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that the learning used a guided inquiry model assisted by PhET interactive simulations was able to improve students’ science process skills.

Abstract

This study was aimed to describe the result of virtual discovery learning model implementation in improving learning outcomes of Junior High School students on magnetism. The study involved 30 students of 9th grade at one of Public Junior High School in Probolinggo City. This study used One Group Pretest-Posttest Design as a research model. The analytical technique was analyzation of learning outcomes by using N-Gain. This study’s impact was the improvement of student learning outcomes that indicated through the result of N-Gain after analyzing pretest and posttest scores. The posttest score gained average score that higher than pretest average score, so that, the average of N-gain class gained high category. Based on the impact, it can be concluded that the implementation of virtual discovery learning model improved junior high school student learning outcomes on magnetism.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of contextual learning using guided inquiry to increase prospective physics teachers' scientific literacy skills. This study used the One Group Pretest-Postest design. Students in the physics education undergraduate program at Universitas Negeri Surabaya who took thermodynamics courses were the research subjects. The results showed that students' scientific literacy abilities before participating in the learning were already in a reasonably good category, and these students scientific literacy abilities experienced an increase after participating in contextual learning with a guided inquiry approach. The evaluation results of the n-gain test based on the pretest and posttest scores obtained an n-gain score of 0.64 or 64%. Accordingly, it can be concluded that contextual learning combined with the guided inquiry approach can effectively increase prospective teacher students' scientific literacy skills based on the evaluation results of the n-gain test

Abstract

Perkembangan abad ke-21 menghadirkan beberapa tantangan yang harus dikuasai oleh siswa. Model yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran harus bersifat student centered agar siswa mampu mencapai tantangan yang dibutuhkan di abad ke-21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran guided inquiry berbantuan media audiovisual pada materi getaran dan gelombang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental design dengan rancangan penelitian one groups pretest-posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII UPT SMPN 9 Gresik dengan sampel kelas VIII-G. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran terlaksana sangat baik dengan persentase rata-rata 93%. Rata-rata skor peningkatan hasil belajar dari pretest ke posttest adalah 0,65 yang tergolong ke dalam kategori sedang. Sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa model guided inquiry berbantuan media audiovisual dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil belajar, keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, dan respon peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament dengan menggunakan media monopoli IPA. Model yang digunakan yaitu model pre-experimental design dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest design. Penelitian ini melibatkan 32 peserta didik kelas VIII-D di SMPN 15 Gresik. Teknik pengempulan data menggunakan tes, observasi, dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi sistem ekskresi dengan skor N-gain 0,63 yang menunjukkan kategori sedang. Hasil uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji t berpasangan dengan ? = 0,05 diperoleh nilai thitung > ttabel (17,031 > 2,0395), sehingga dalam penelitian ini H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima, yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai hasil belajar yang signifikan sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan. Adapun keterlaksanaan pembelajaran pada setiap pertemuan mendapatkan hasil yang sangat baik dengan persentase pertemuan 1 sebesar 81,6%, pertemuan 2 sebesar 97,6% dan pertemuan 3 mendapatkan 100%. Hasil dari angket respon peserta didik mendapatkan respon positif terhadap pembelajaran TGT dengan media monopoli IPA. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament dengan menggunakan media monopoli IPA dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi sistem ekskresi manusia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan hasil belajar dan respon peserta didik setelah penerapan media pembelajaran Kahoot! di kelas VIII pada pokok bahasan getaran dan gelombang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pra-eksperimen dan menggunakan desain one group pretest-posttest design dengan subjek penelitian peserta didik kelas VIII G SMP Negeri 30 Surabaya. Teknik analisis data dengan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil data yang diperoleh dianalisis dari segi hasil belajar peserta didik dan respon peserta didik. Peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik dapat diketahui dengan menggunakan analisis N-gain dari sampel yang sesuai. Peningkatan hasil belajar dapat diidentifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan N-Gain, persentase peserta didik yang memperoleh skor N-Gain dengan kategori tinggi sebesar 67%, kategori sedang sebesar 33%, dan kategori rendah sebesar 0%. Secara keseluruhan, respon peserta didik mendapatkan persentase sebesar 83% respon yang dikategorikan sangat baik pada pernyataan positif dan mendapatkan persentase sebesar 37% respon yang dikategorikan kurang pada pernyataan negatif. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media Kahoot! pada pokok bahasan getaran dan gelombang pada peserta didik kelas VIII G SMP Negeri 30 Surabaya dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

Learners' science literacy skills in science learning activities become an important ability for learners to face the times. The ability of learners to respond to contextual topics can show the qualifications of their science literacy skills. The research conducted aims to describe the science literacy skills of students at the Islamic Junior High School  level on environmental issues that occur around them. Through descriptive quantitative method, the researcher presents the results of students' science literacy ability in working on contextual questions based on environmental issues along with supporting and inhibiting factors in supporting learning activities. The study involved 25 students at one of the Islamic Junior High School  in Jombang. Based on the analysis of the profile of students' science literacy skills at one of the Islamic Junior High School  in Jombang, it was found that the general average score of science literacy skills of grade 7 students was 44.72 in the low category. Abstract

This research aimed at improving students' conceptual understanding of the excretory system through index card match learning model (ICMLM) integrated with the flipped classroom. This study conducted a pre-experimental with One Group Pre-test-Post-test Design involving 16 students of Junior High School Muhammadiyah 7 Gresik grade VIII within a-twice meeting during limited face-to-face learning. The instruments consisted of pre-test and post-test, learning observation sheets, and questionnaires for student responses. Data collection used test and questionnaire method. Cognitive data analysis of concept understanding using t-test and N Gain. The t-test result obtained a score of 0.000. Besides, the N-Gain test revealed an average score of 0.75, characterized in the high category. This test showed that students' understanding of concepts in detail is increased, namely, 7 students in the medium category and 9 students in the high category.
