Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh penggunaan formalin dan periode simpan terhadap viabilitas dan pertumbuhan awal benih kelengkeng. Rancangan percobaan berdasarkan rancangan acak lengkap faktorial dengan 4 ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah formalin (0%, 0,5%, 1% dan 2%). Faktor kedua adalah periode simpan dengan 3 taraf (tanpa penyimpanan, 15 dan 30 hari). Parameter yang diamati adalah daya kecambah, kecepatan berkecambah, Jumlah daun dan tinggi bibit kelengkeng. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis ragam taraf 5% dan apabila berpengaruh nyata (p<0,05), dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan (DMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meningkatnya kadar formalin, nyata menurunkan daya kecambah dan kecepatan berkecambah, sedangkan kadar formalin 0,5% dengan 30 hari periode simpan optimal meningkatkan jumlah daun dan tinggi tanaman. Kata kunci : kelengkeng, formalin, periode simpan, viabilitas, pertumbuhan awal

Abstract

Fertilization is one of the factors that influence the growth and production of sticky maize. This study examined the effect of organic-NP enriched manure on the growth and yield of sticky maize. The study used a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replicates. The treatments are P0 (ZA + TSP), P1 (cow manure + ZA + TSP), P2 (goat manure + ZA + TSP), P3 (poultry manure+ ZA + TSP), P4 (cow manure + Gliricidia sepium + BP), P5 (goat manure + Gliricidia sepium + BP), P6 (poultry manure + Gliricidia sepium + BP). The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, chlorophyll content, cobs length, and cobs diameter. The results showed that the number of leaves, chlorophyll content in the generative phase, and cobs diameter in treatment P1 (cow manure + ZA + TSP) is equivalent to P4 (cow manure + Gliricidia sepium + BP), P2 (goat manure + ZA + TSP) is equivalent to P5 (goat manure + Gliricidia sepium + BP), and P3 (poultry manure+ ZA + TSP) is equivalent to P6 (poultry manure + Gliricidia sepium + BP). The cobs length in treatment P3 is significantly higher compared to P6. All treatments have no effect on plant height and chlorophyll content in the vegetative phase.

Abstract

Increasing the growth and production of waxy corn can be done by fertilizing. This study examined the effect of N-Leucaena leucocephala and P-rock phosphate enriched manure that was called manure plus, on the growth and production of waxy corn. The study used a randomized block design (RBD) with five treatments and six replicated namely T0 (urea + TSP), T1 (cow manure + urea + TSP), T2 (goat manure + urea + TSP), T3 (cow manure plus), and T4 (goat manure plus) with five treatments and six replicates. Parameters measured were plant height, leaves number, stem diameter, chlorophyll levels, waxy corn production, and dry matter production of stover. The results showed that stem diameter, chlorophyll, waxy corn production, and dry matter production of stover in cow manure plus and goat manure plus was equivalent to cow manure + urea + TSP and goat manure + urea + TSP, respectively. The number of leaves in the goat manure + urea + TSP treatment is higher compared to goat manure plus. However, plant height was not significantly affected by the treatments.

Abstract

Manure plus is manure’s nutrition improvement by the addition of organic N from (L. leucocephala) and nature P from (rock phosphate). The aim of this research are to evaluate the effect of  ‘manure plus’ on growth and production of sweet corn. The method used was Randomized Block Design with seven treatments and four replications. The treatments were P0 (ZA + TSP), P1 (Cattle manure + ZA + TSP), P2 (Goat manure + ZA + TSP), P3 (Poultry manure + ZA + TSP), P4 (Cattle manure + RP + + Leucaena leucocephala), P5 (Goat manure + RP+ Leucaena leucocephala), P6 (Poultry manure + RP + Leucaena leucocephala). KCl gave to all plots (150 kg K2O/ha). The parameters were plant height, leaf’s number, cob length, cob diameter, sum of seed row, and production of sweet corn. Data subjected to analysis of variance and followed DMRT at α = 5%. The result showed that cob diameter and sum of seed row of P4 had no significantly different compared to P1, P5 had no significantly different compared to P2, P6 had no significantly different compared to P3. The leaf’s number of P4 had no significantly different compared to P1, P5 had no significantly different compared to P2, whereas P3 had leaf’s number more than P6. All treatments had no significant effect towards plant height, cob length and production of sweet corn. Based on the research, manure plus can be used to substitute the role of manure + ZA + TSP.

Abstract

The growth and yield of waxy corn are determined by organic and inorganic fertilizers. The addition of organic-N (N-Leucaena leucocephala) and nature-P (P-rock phosphate) can be used as a substitute for inorganic fertilizers (urea and TSP). The present study investigated the effects of N-leucaena leucocephala and P-rock phosphate enriched manure (manure plus) on the growth and yield of waxy corn. The experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design with seven treatments and four replicates: T0 (urea + TSP), T1 (urea+TSP + cattle manure), T2 (urea+TSP + goat manure), T3 (urea+TSP + poultry manure), T4 (N-L. leucocephala+ P-rock phosphate + goat manure), T6 (N-L. leucocephala+ rock phosphate + poultryobserved were plant height, chlorophyll content, cob weight with cornhusk and without cornhusk, and cob length with cornhusk and without cornhusk. The data was analyzed using analysis of variance, followed by Duncan's multiple range tests.The results showed that manure plus had a significant effect (P<0.05) on cob weight with cornhusk and without cornhusk and cob length without cornhusk. The parameters of plant height, leaf chlorophyll content, and cob length with cornhusk were similar in all treatments. Based on the research results, it may be concluded that the addition of Leucaena leucocephala and rock phosphate to manure can improve the quality of the organic fertilizer and can replace inorganic fertilizer.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the equivalence of production value between the elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum Scumach & Thonn) which was fertilized by an inorganic fertilizer (urea = P1) and the organic fertilizer (manure = P2 and bokashi = P3) were combined by inoculation an effective microorganisms EM4 = E. The study used the experimental design of split-plot on the basis of a randomized complete design consisting 3 replications. The main plot was 8 treatment combinations while the subplot was 3 defoliation periods (1, 2 and 3). Eight treatment combinations were: E0P0 (no EM4, no fertilizers); E1P0 (EM4, no fertilizers); E0P1 (no EM4, urea); E1P1 (EM4, urea); E0P2 (no EM4, manure); E1P2 (EM4, manure); E0P3 (no EM4, bokashi); and E1P3 (EM4, bokashi). The interaction effect fertilization and defoliation treatments was significant (P < 0.05) on the grass height, fresh forage production and nitrogen (N) production. This interaction effect was not significant (P > 0.05) on the number of tillers, dry matter (DM) production, digestibility of organic matter (OM) and digestibility of DM over the defoliation periods but the main effect in the form of defoliation periods was significant (P < 0.05) to the number of tillers and DM production. Number of tillers increased significantly (P < 0.05) throughout the defoliation periods whereas DM production increased significantly (P < 0.05) from the 1st defoliation to the 2nd defoliation and then decreased significantly (P < 0.05) in the 3rd defoliation. Fertilization of elephant grass used manure or bokashi which was inoculated by EM4 able to produce the number of tillers, grass height, fresh forage production and DM production which were equivalent of elephant grass which was fertilized by urea (without inoculation of EM4) but the N production was lower. This fertilization was only able to produce the number of tillers and DM production which were equivalent of elephant grass which was fertilized by urea (with inoculation of EM4) but grass height, fresh forage production and the N production were lower. Fertilization of elephant grass used manure, bokashi or urea (with or without inoculation of EM4) did not affect the elephant grass digestibility of DM and OM. Keywords: Bokashi,defoliation of elephant grass, elephant grass, EM4, manure,  urea.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemupukan pukan diperkaya N-legum dan P-alam terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman kacang tanah. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret – Oktober 2021 di Universitas Diponegoro, Kecamatan Tembalang, Kota Semarang, Jawa Tengah. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) monofaktor dengan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan berupa pemupukan, yaitu P0 (urea + SP-36), P1 (pukan sapi + urea + SP-36), P2 (pukan kambing + urea + SP-36), P3 (pukan ayam + urea + SP-36), P4 (pukan sapi + N lamtoro + P-BP), P5 (pukan kambing + N lamtoro + P-BP), P6 (pukan ayam + N lamtoro + P-BP). Parameter yang diamati adalah kadar klorofil daun, tinggi ginofor, jumlah daun, produksi segar jerami, produksi bahan kering jerami, produksi polong (polong isi dan polong kosong), produksi biji kacang tanah, serapan N jerami, dan serapan P jerami. Data yang diperoleh lalu dianalisis ragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pupuk pada semua parameter yang diamati memiliki hasil yang sama secara statistik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh pupuk kandang diperkaya dengan P-batuan fosfat (pukan plus) terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman kacang tanah varietas kancil. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada April 2021 – Oktober 2021 di Lahan Penelitian Agrotechno Park Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan percobaan monofaktor dengan dasar rancangan acak kelompok dengan 7 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Pupuk fosfat yang diberikan untuk tanaman kacang tanah sebanyak 36 kg P2O5/ha (78,26 kg TSP/ha dan 900  kg BP/ha). Perlakuan pupuk kandang menggunakan dosis 15 ton/ha. Perlakuan pemupukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu P0 (TSP), P1 (Pukan sapi + TSP), P2 (Pukan ayam + TSP), P3 (Pukan kambing + TSP),  P4 (Pukan sapi plus), P5 (Pukan ayam plus), dan P6 (Pukan kambing plus). Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, kadar klorofil, produksi polong, produksi biji, jumlah polong, produksi segar jerami, produksi bahan kering jerami, dan serapan P jerami. Data semua parameter dianalisis ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan DMRT pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pukan plus hanya berpengaruh pada parameter kadar klorofil 45 HST dan produksi polong kosong. Pemberian pukan plus tidak memberikan pengaruh pada parameter tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, produksi polong (isi dan total), produksi biji, produksi segar Jerami, produksi bahan kering Jerami, dan serapan P Jerami. Disimpulkan bahwa pemberian perlakuan pukan plus memberikan hasil pertumbuhan dan produksi kacang tanah yang setara dengan perlakuan pukan + TSP dan kontrol (TSP). Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pupuk kandang diperkaya batuan fosfat dapat menggantikan peran pupuk fosfat anorganik.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of the combination of doses of NPK fertilizer and coconut organic liquid fertilizer on the growth and production of tomato plants. The field experiment was carried out on October 7–December 30, 2021 at the Greenhouse Block C, and Ecology and Plant Production Laboratory, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Diponegoro University, Semarang Central Java. The study used a 4 x 3 factorial experiment on the basis of a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 replications, so there were 36 experimental units. The first factor is the dose of NPK fertilizer with 4 treatment levels, namely NPK 375 kg/ha equivalent to 60 kg N/ha (according to the recommended dose equivalent to 7.5 g/plant = N1), NPK 281.25 kg/ha (75% recommended dose equivalent to 5.63 g/plant = N2), NPK 187.5 kg/ha (50% recommended dose equivalent to 3.75 g/plant = N3), and NPK 93.75 kg/ha (25% dose recommendation equivalent to 1.88 g/plant = N4). The second factor was the dose of coconut coir POC treatment with 3 levels, namely a dose of 300 ml of coconut fiber POC (K1), 500 ml of coconut fiber POC (K2) and 700 ml of coconut fiber POC (K3). Plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, stem diameter, flowering age, number of bunches per plant, number of fruits per bunch, number of fruits per plant, fruit diameter, fruit weight harvested, fruit weight per plant, and fruit quality were observed. The dataset obtained was analyzed for variance and further tested with Duncan's multiple distance test at the 5% level. The results showed that the dose of NPK fertilizer increased the number of branches, the number of bunches per plant, the number of fruits per bunch and the number of fruits per plant. Keywords: Coconut Organic Liquid Fertilizer, NPK, Tomat.Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh kombinasi antara dosis pupuk NPK dan POC sabut kelapa terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman tomat. Penelitian menggunakan percobaan faktorial 4 x 3 dengan dasar rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) sebanyak 3 kali ulangan, sehingga terdapat 36 satuan unit percobaan. Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the effect of humic acid, N, P, and K fertilizer and the interaction of the two treatments on the growth and production of sweet corn. The field experiment was carried out on August 02 – October 12, 2021 in Tembalang Sub-district, Semarang City and at the Ecology and Plant Production Laboratory, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Diponegoro University, Semarang (7o03’17” S dan 110o26’28” E). The factorial experiment with a 3 x 3 randomized block design with 3 replications was used in the study. The first factor was consisted of 20, 25, and 30 kg of humic acid/ha, respectively for M1, M2 and M3.The second factor was the dose of fertilizer N, P, and K which consisted of 100%, 75%; and 50% of the recommended dose, for P1, P2 and P3 respectively.The 100% of recommended dose was200 kg N/ha, 154 kg P2O5/ha, 125 kg K2O/ha. Parameters observed consisted of plant height, number of leaves, number of cobs, and weight of cobs. The data obtained were analyzed by using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan's test at 5% was used for further analysis. The results showed that the dose of humic acid had a significant effect on the parameters of plant height and number of leaves.  Keywords: dose, humic acid, sweet corn
