Abstract

Desa Bintang Mas merupakan salah satu desa yang mempunyai potensi tumbuhan asam jawa, dimana masyarakatnya belum mengetahui pembuatan sirup asam jawa yang merupakan salah satu minuman kesehatan yang berpeluang ekonomi jika di buat dalam bentuk minuman. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra untuk saat ini adalah kurangnya diversifikasi produk dari buah asam jawa yang banyak terdapat di desa mereka. Selama ini buah asam jawa hanya digunakan untuk memasak dan kelebihan produksi hanya di jual dalam bentuk segar saja. Mitra belum mengetahui khasiat minuman segar asam jawa dan asam jawa bisa dibuat sirup, dan jika dijual dalam bentuk sirup selain dapat meningkatkan harga jual juga bisa meningkatkan sumber pendapatan keluarga jika bisnis sirup asam jawa ini di tekuni. Target luaran yang diharapkan di akhir program adalah masyarakat dapat membuat sirup asam jawa dengan kemasan botol yang tersterilisasi dan label yang menarik. Sirup asam jawa dapat menjadi minuman kesehatan keluarga dan jika dijual dapat meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga mitra.

Abstract

AbstractThis study is intended to focus on the concentration of natual citric acid and density including physical and mechanical properties and durability of particleboards towards C. curvignathus Holmgren. This research is lifted because research on the use of citric acid as an adhesive is relatively limited.The research’s material was taken from waste dreg of Sago and citric acid. The research was carried out in wood workshops, wood processing technology laboratories and forest product technology laboratories, Tanjungpura University Forestry Faculty along with laboratories PT Duta Pertiwi Nusantara. The factors which was used in this study was the concentration of 20% - 30% with a density of 0,6 g/cm3 and 0,7 g/cm3 , based on the weight of the airborne particle, the temperature of pressurization used 180ºC with pressures of 25 kg/cm2. Physical and mechanical properties were tested based on JIS A 5908-2003 type 8. Testing of soil termites was carried out by calculating the value of weight reduction and mortality of termiste after 21 days. In this study, The optimum conditions were particle board density 0,7 g/cm3 and concentration 20%, with qualities that can fulfill several standards of JIS A 5908-2003 type 8, with a density of 0,7 g/cm3 consentrations 30%, resulting in termite mortality values of 100% and loss16,92% of weight.Keywords : Citric acid, concentration, density, termite, sago.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the physical and mechanical properties of cement boards from sawing waste based on raw material composition and particle size, as well  to get the best sawing waste particle size and raw material composition according to JIS A5417-1992 standard. The research was carried out at the Wood Workshop Laboratory, Wood Technology Laboratory, Wood Processing Laboratory and PT Duta Pertiwi Nusantara Pontianak. This study uses a completely randomized factorial design (CRD) with two factors, namely factor A (Particle Size) and factor B (composition of cement). The results showed the average value of density ranged from 0.6878 to 0.8094 gr / cm3, moisture content value ranged from 6.7057 to 10.0246%, thickess swelling value ranged from 0.3996 to 0.8773%, water absorption value ranged from 27.8949 - 49.0375%, MOE ranged from 412.6563-1411.7847 kg / cm2 and MOR value ranged from 2.1529-4.5909 kg / cm2. The particle size that affects the physical properties is the value of water absorption, while the composition of the material that affects the physical properties is the density, water content, thickness development and water absorption capacity. The particle size and composition of the material which influence the mechanical properties, namely the value of the flexural firmness and fracture firmness. Based on the results of cement board testing with particle composition and cement (1:2) with particle size passing 10 mesh restrained 20 mesh yields the best physical properties of cement board that meet the standards of JIS A 5417: 1992, while none of the cement boards MOE and MOR meet the testing standards mechanical properties according to JIS A 5417: 1992.Keywords: Cement board, composition of cement, particle size, sawing waste

Abstract

Gastropod is one the mollusk phylum that can adapted at the mangrove ecosystem. Gastropod are organisms that have an ecological role as forming detritus. The study aimed to examine species diversity of gastropods in the mangrove forest ecosystem of Sebubus Village, Paloh District, Sambas Regency. The study was conducted in April 2019, using the survey method. Observations found 6 families and 16 species of gastropods in the mangrove ecosystem. Gastropods species are Chicoreus capucinus, Nerita balteata, Neritina cornucopia, Nerita violacea, Cerithideopsilla alata, Cerithidiopsis quoyii, Cerithidea obtusa, Littoraria scabra, Littoraria undulata, Littoraria carinifera, Nassarius dorsatus, Cassarius dorsatus, Cassidula aurisfelis, Ellobium aurisjudae, Cassidula nucleus, Pythia plicata, and Ellobium gangeticum. Species diversity index of gastropod in zone 1 = 0.83, zone 2 = 0.73 and zone 3 = 0.79 in the low category. Species abundance index of gastropod in zone 1 = 15.3, zone 2 = 10.5, zone 3 = 15.8.  Species evenness index of gastropod in zone 1 = 0.32, zone 2 = 0.30 and zone 3 = 0.30 categorized as low. Species dominance index of gastropod in zone 1 = 0.20, zone 2 = 0.28 and zone 3 = 0.25 are categorized as low. Species similiarity index of gastropod in zone 1 and 2 = 91.67%, zone 2 and 3 = 80.00%, zone 1 and 3 = 81.48 are categorized very high.Keywords: Diversity, Gastropods, Mangrove Ecosystems

Abstract

The area of Solang Cascade need to be conserved and in managedbecause in addition being a nature tourism forest andan area for flora and fauna to thrive, it also serves as economic income for the communities around the area. Therefore, there is a need to cooperateamong members of the community and assistance from government such as the Ministry of Forestry or Ministry of Tourism. This research was carried out in SenakinVillage,Subdistrict of Sengah Temila,Landak Regency, West Kalimantan Province.The research aims to find outthe Senakin villagers’ perception of Solang cascade management as Nature Tourism and to identify the factorsthat affect such perception. The research is expected to provide input as reference material or consideration formaking management strategies. The method used was a survey method which was descriptive and associative in nature with questionnaires and interviews where samples / respondents wereselected through pusposive sampling technique under certain consideration.The number of samples taken as respondents was 100 households. The calculation of Chi Square resulted in the value of 42.98 and the table value at the significant level (0.05) was 5.591. Since the value of X2count>the value ofX2table​​(0.05) then the descriptive hypothesis was accepted. This indicates that the frequency of the villagers’ perception of the management Solang Cascadein Senakin Village tends to be different. Keywords : Nature Tourism. Abstract

This research is aimed to know the effect composition of raw materials and concentration adhesives of urea formaldehyde to physical and mechanical properties composite board. Composite board made from the bakau bark, polypropylene plastic waste, and urea formaldehyde adhesive.  Variation ratio of bakau bark and polypropylene plastic were 60 : 40, 50 : 50, 40 : 60. The level of urea formaldehyde used thewere 10%, 12% and 14% of the total weigh of the composite board. Particle board is made with size 30 cm x 30 cm x 1 cm with target density of 0,7 g/cm3 at a specific pressure of 25 kg/cm2 and temperature of 220ºC for 10 minutes. Evaluation of the physical properties and mechanical properties was conducted according to JIS A 5908-2003. The results of this research showed the average value based the density is around 0,68 g/cm3 – 0,79 g/cm3, the moisture content is around 5,02 % -  6,84 %, thickness swelling is around 2,95 % - 4,18 %, water absorption is around 10,21 % - 19,22 %, modulus of elasticity is around 4990,46 kg/cm2 – 5780,79 kg/cm2, modulus of repture is around 104,73 kg/cm2 - 140,55 kg/cm2 , the internal bonding strength is around 7,53 kg/cm2 – 9,03 kg/cm2, and the screws holding strength is around 70,27 kg - 82,28 kg. The best treatment for the physical and mechanical of composite board made from ratio bakau bark and polypropylene plastic 40 : 60 and urea formaldehyde concentration 14%.Keyword: Bakau Bark, composite board, physical and mechanical properties, polypropylene plastic, urea formaldehyde

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know the effect of raw material type and composition on physical and mechanical properties of Orient Strand Board of Avicennia marina and Bambusa vulgaris, to know the type and composition of the best materials that meet JIS A 5908 - 2003. The materials used in this research are Avicennia marina and Bambusa vulgaris, phenol formladehida (PF) adhesives and liquid paraffin. The treatment in this research is raw material consisting of Avicennia marina/Bambusa vulgaris, Bambusa vulgaris/Avicennia marina, Avicennia marina and Bambusa vulgaris, with raw material composition 50/50%, 60/40% and 70/30%. OSB boards are made measuring 30 cm x 30 cm x 1 cm with a target density of 0,75 gr/cm3 forged hot with a temperature of 160 º C for 7 minutes. The parameters tested in this study include physical properties (density test, moisture content, swelling in thickness and water absorption), mechanical properties (modulus of elasticity, modulus of rupture, internal bonding and screw holding power) and retention strength. The results showed that the type of raw material had an effect on the moisture content, MOE, MOR, IB and screw holding power, but did not affect the density, water absorption and , swelling in thickness. Treatment of raw material composition influenced moisture, MOE and MOR, but did not affect the density, water absorption, swelling in thickness, IB and screw holding power. The interaction of both factor and raw material composition influenced the value of water content, water absorption, swelling in thickness, MOE and MOR, but did not affect the density, IB and screw holding power. Based on the results of the research can be seen that the mixture Bambusa vulgaris/Avicennia marina with 70/30% composition is the best OSB and meets the standard JIS A 5908-2003 Base Particleboard Type 24-10. Abstract

Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren is an urban pest which builds carton nests in dark places. This termite is difficult to control due to difficulties of direct spraying to entire colony. The new methods for control subterranean termites such as used the essentials oil is a prospective study. This study aims to determine the bioactivity of essential oil of orange peel Citrus nobilis var .microcarpa and to determine the optimal level of inhibiting termites C. curvignathus. Essential oil made from peel of C. nobilis orange which macerated with methanol for 24 hours. Essential oil obtained was dissolved on filter paper at a dose of 0.1 ml; 0.2 ml; 0.3 ml; and 0.4 ml. Then this filter paper used to biossay to determine the effectiveness of essential oil to inhibited subterranean termites C. curvignathus. This process was conducted in three days. The results showed that the highest activity which caused 100% mortality of termite was obtained at dose 0.4 ml. The greater dose of essential oils of orange peel resulted in the highest mortality of termites and vice versa resulted the lowest percentage of paper weight loss. The optimal dose in the use of essential oils of orange peel of C. nobilis to inhibited the termites C. curvignathus was 0.2 ml. Abstract

The objectives of the research were to analyze the effect of strand length difference, adhesive level and its interaction on physical and mechanical properties of wood rubber OSB board. As well as to analyze the length of the strand and the adhesive level that produces the physical and mechanical properties of the best rubber wood OSB board. The research was conducted at Wood Workshop Laboratory, Wood Processing Laboratory, Faculty of Forestry, University of Tanjungpura and Laboratory of PT. Duta Pertiwi Nusantara Pontianak. The materials used are rubber wood, phenol formaldehyde adhesive (PF) and liquid paraffin. The treatments in this study were strand length was 5 cm, 10 cm and 15 cm, and adhesive content was of 5%, 7%, 9%. OSB boards were made measuring 30 cm x 30 cm x 1cm with a target density of 0.7 gr / cm3. Forged hot with temperature of 160 ºC for 7 minutes. The results showed that all of the strand length and adhesive treatments resulted in OSB complying with JIS A 5908-2003 (Base Particleboard Type 24-10) standard, except for water content test in A3B2 treatment and MOE test on treatment A1B1, A1B2. Based on best OSB scoring calculation is rubber wood with strand length 15 cm with 9% adhesive level.Keywords: Adhesive Content, Oriented Strand Board, Quality, Strand Length

Abstract

In the middle of  rate deforestation, The ecotourism appears as one of alternative economic opportunities for communities around the forest. Sedahan Jaya village is one of the villages in Kayong Utara Regency that has an excellent natural potentials, such as panoramic landscapes, as well as the region's forests and mountains. However, the utilization of natural resources in the village has not been optimally realized. Based on this condition, needed to do research about the perception of Society Against the potential of  Ecotourism in Sedahan Jaya to know the level of participation and support from the local community. This research uses descriptive survey method that is with interview techniques and tools in the form of a detailed questionnaire form with the number of samples as much as 87 KK. Sampling purposive sampling done by the respondent. The results showed that people in the village of sedahan jaya have a very positive perception against the potential of ecotourism in Sedahan Jaya village following its development. This is because most of the people in the village of sedahan jaya has felt the positive impact of this ecotourism activities to their lives, both in terms of the economy as well as socio-cultural area.Keywords : ecotoutism, public perception, Sedahan Jaya.
