Abstract

In globalization era with its free market, to run a business successfully is very hard. Life is very competitive. And a business man, as the owner of the capital, will do everything for the success of his business. Employing women in many sectors of businesses can be a fruitful way. In this case, women have been exploited fully to follow what the business man wants. But they, the women, can’t refuse it. Clearly, capitalism has created two classes in society: the capitalist group (capital owner) and the worker  group (non capital owner). basically exploitation of women in various of businesses is only one of the ways done by the capitalist to show individualism, to win competition, and to get as many benefits as possible in business.  Above all, exploiting women is just one of the ways taken by the capitalist to survive in this competitive-free market. And as far as the capitalist still hold the economic system of the world, women exploitation will never end.

Violence on women will never stop! This statement could be right looking at the recent condition experienced by women. There are at least two factors causing women always become the victim of many violence and are always marginalized. The first factor because of the patriarchy culture system and the second one, because of the inappropriate interpretation of Koran verses.  Those two factors really have placed women to be weak in many aspects of life. Moreover, they only have low education. They become passive and dependent. They are even as weak as their physic compared with men. That’s why, they are easy to become the victim of many violence. Danger is always staying in front of them. But, knowing about this, can’t women free themselves from this bad condition? The answer is clear; Yes, they can! But what to do? There is only one thing that can help women free from being colonialized. What’s that? “Super Women” ! Abstract

“Tawur” (quarrel) is very popular recently. Its popularity is getting more and more in line with its publication in some mass media as newspapers, magazines, televisions, and internet. Many groups of society such as Junior and Senior High School students, university students, lecturers, private or government officials, football supporters, and others have done it. They do it in many places like schools, streets, markets, offices, football stadium, etc. In general, it could be classified into two types; physical and spiritual tawur. The physical type is usually done by breaking, burning, torturing, and even killing, while the latter is usually a kind of killing of individual characteristic. So, both have caused many disadvantages either for the Indonesian society or government. Therefore, we must omit tawur that has become part of our culture. Then, we can change it with a culture that is constructive and beneficial in all aspects of Indonesian life.

Abstract

This qualitative case study aimed to explore fillers usage to address speaking challenges related to the improvement of self-confidence and motivation in speaking practices done by two English foreign language (EFL) learners of the English department of one of the Islamic Universities in Malang, Indonesia. Data were collected through observations and in-depth interviews to two students employing filler strategies to address speaking challenges related to the improvement of self-confidence and motivation during their speaking exercises. The research revealed that both learners used fillers to address speaking challenges during the conversation due to their linguistic components’ shortage such as a limited mastery of vocabularies and having a little understanding on grammar. Fillers might bring them to have more self-confidence in speaking practices shown by not being afraid of making mistakes when they practice speaking with their speaking partners. Fillers might bring them to have more motivation in speaking shown by their enthusiasm to get involved in the discussion whether in group or class discussions. Thus, fillers usage is prominent due to its potential to address speaking challenges, enhance self-confidence and motivation, eventually contributing to an overall improvement in language proficiency particularly in speaking skill.

Abstract

The Indonesian government has launched the National Action Plan program for handling stunting at the national level with the theme "National Action Plan Program for handling stunting at the national level" in 2023 which is focused on regions, especially villages in Indonesia. One part of the program is the prevention of stunting that occurs in the community. Because most people do not understand properly about stunting, and think that stunting or dwarfism, the term commonly used in society, is a hereditary factor. This community service activity is carried out to increase knowledge and understanding as well as community participation in the prevention and early detection program for stunting in toddlers which is expected to directly motivate the community to participate in paying attention to the growth and development of their children so that their growth and development can be optimal. The method used was to assess community knowledge and the problems faced regarding prevention and how to assess/early detect stunting in toddlers in Katulisan Village, Cikeusal District, Serang Banten. Mother's knowledge was measured using a pre-test before the activity and a post-test after being given the knowledge.
