Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of YouTube media with the observation method and self-confidence on learning outcomes of Heavy Equipment Technology. The population in this study were students in 2019 in the Automotive Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Padang with a sample of 32 students in the experimental group and 32 students in the control group. Samples were taken by cluster sampling technique. Data were collected through validated tests. The data analysis technique used the two-way variance test (ANOVA) and Tukey test. Before testing the hypothesis, the normality test and homogeneity test were carried out first. The results of data analysis showed that YouTube learning media and confidence in learning outcomes in the Heavy Equipment Technology course obtained a higher interaction with the results of the analysis of variance for the calculated F value = 4.24> F table = 3.97 at a significant level = 0.05. Thus, YouTube learning accompanied by high self-confidence obtains better learning outcomes compared to learning the observation method.

Abstract

Effect of the precision of smoke of diesel motor vehicles by utilizing used oil mixed with diesel fuel. The purpose of this study is to know the mix up to what percentage of used oil that can be used as fuel to the precision of diesel motor fume in accordance with the limits of regulation of the Ministry of Environment No. 05 of 2016. For testing of Smoke thickness using gauge opacity smokemeter, used is used oil 5% mixed with solar 95%, used oil 10% mixed diesel 90%, used oil 15% mixed with diesel 85%, used oil 20% mixed 80% solar, used oil 40% mixed diesel 60%, oil used 60% mixed 40% solar, 80% used oil mixed with 20% diesel, and 100% used oil. at acceleration engine speed Acceleration is done three times on each sample and then compare for each samples tested. From result of research can be concluded that semekin big percentage of mixing of used oil hence influence to smoke thickness in Isuzu Panther diesel motor. The used oil mixture of 5% to 40% of the resulting smoke thickness is still within the threshold of the exhaust emissions in accordance with Regulation of the Ministry of Environment No. 5 of 2006 which is smoke thickness below 70%.

Abstract

This consider points to examine the adequacy of the project-based learning show on learning results. This consider employments a meta-analysis strategy with auxiliary information sorts. The information were gotten within the frame of post test comes about for the control lessen and the exploratory class from inquire about articles employing a venture based learning show for learning results. A add up to of 27 investigate articles were dismembered and the information gotten were calculated utilizing the impact estimate (ES) equation. The calculation results show that the project-based learning show includes a moderate effect on learning results. Hence, the project-based learning show is successful and can be utilized within the learning handle.

Abstract

The dream of a 'link and match' between schools and industry to become a reality is a big target to be achieved by the government. For that we need the support of superior human resources (HR) so that development can run well. One of the concepts of the learning approach carried out by the Ministry of Education and Culture is for schools to produce superior human resources in accordance with the needs of the industrial world through the teaching factory (TEFA) program. Recent research has demonstrated an urgent need for future engineers. This research is a continuous experimental study for 2 semesters by applying it to all samples, to see if there is a significant effect on TEFA. Research that uses the Ex-Post Facto approach. The population in this study were students of the Heavy Equipment Engineering Department at SMK Negeri 1 Guguak. The sample is class XI students of the Heavy Equipment Engineering Department who have obtained the Teaching Factory Learning Model as many as 32 people who were selected using a non-probability technique, namely Purposive Sampling. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. The result of t-test is smaller than t-table (-0.381 < 1.697). This shows that the negative effect of the application of (TEFA) on the Learning Outcomes of Class XI Students in Powertrain and Undercarriage subjects is not only insignificant or very small, it can even be said to have no effect.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the problem based learning model on learning outcomes and skills in Motorcycle Engineering courses for D3 Automotive Engineering students, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University. The research method used is an experiment with a modified pretest-posttest group research design. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling, with Group 1 as the experimental class and Group 2 as the control class. The analytical technique used is the average difference test, analysis of the influence between variables, and determination of the coefficient of determination. The results of the study obtained that the average learning outcomes and motorcycle engineering skills in the experimental class was 89.56 while the control class was 81.54. The analysis of the influence between variables resulted in a biserial coefficient of 0.59 for learning outcomes and 0.44 for Motorcycle Engineering skills. The calculation of the coefficient of determination shows that the application of the problem based learning model contributes 35.00% to learning outcomes and 19.34% to Motorcycle Engineering skills. The relationship between Motorcycle Engineering skills and learning outcomes in problem based learning model learning is 31.69%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the problem based learning model affects the learning outcomes and skills of Motorcycle Engineering students of D3 Automotive Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University on CVT Maintenance material. Keywords: learning outcomes, Motorcycle Engineering skills, problem based learning

Abstract

One of the problems with vocational education is the unpreparedness of graduates because they do not yet have competence in the world of work. Apart from that, local graduates are not yet able to compete with foreign graduates. The efforts made by the government are by innovating or developing the KTSP curriculum into the 2013 Curriculum. The 2013 Curriculum requires students to be more active and creative in the learning process. The 2013 curriculum that was developed is very appropriate to use because the indicators in the 2013 curriculum can familiarize students when they graduate. However, the implementation of the 2013 curriculum still experiences obstacles such as a lack of understanding by teaching staff regarding the 2013 curriculum which makes the learning process hampered
