Abstract

Mathematics students are learning outcomes associated with many factors. Learning style, independence learning, and parents’ attention are some of the factors allegedly related to learning outcomes. The researches are intended to know about is there any positive correlation and significance or not between learning style, independence learning, parents’ attention and mathematics learning outcomes of grade X Visual Communication Design students of State Vocational High School 5 Yogyakarta (SMK Negeri 5 Yogyakarta) in the even semester of the academic year of 2016/2017.  The population in this research was the student's grade X Visual Communication Design of SMK Negeri 5 Yogyakarta of 2016/2017, consisting of class  X Visual Communication Design A and class X Visual Communication Design B,  totaling 62 students. Samples were taken from X Visual Communication Design B as the research sample class and random sampling technique. The writer uses a questionnaire method to collect the learning style, independence learning, parents’ attention, and test method to get the resulting learning of math. The research instrument: validity test, different power test, and reliability test. Test requirement analysis includes a test of normality, a test of linearity, and independence. Abstract

Students' learning outcomes may depend on several factors. It is assumed that learning interest, parental involvement, and anxiety are related to the students' learning outcomes. This research aims to know whether there is a positive and significant relationship between learning interest, parental involvement, and anxiety and mathematic learning outcomes of grade VIII students in the odd semester of SMP Cokroaminoto Wanadadi, Banjarnegara Regency, in the academic year of 2016/2017. The populations of this research are 95 students in grade VIII of SMP Cokroaminoto Wanadadi, Banjarnegara Regency, in the academic year of 2016/2017, consisting of grade VIII A, VIII B, and VIII C. Grade VIII B students were taken as the sample through random sampling class. The data were collected using a questionnaire, which is useful to obtain the data on the learning interest, parental involvement, and anxiety in mathematics. Besides, a test was also carried out to get the data on the learning outcomes in mathematics. The instrument was tested using a validity test, differential test, and reliability test. Prerequisite analysis tests include normality tests, linearity tests, and independence tests. The data were analyzed using product moment analysis and multiple linear regressions. The research findings indicate that there is a significant relationship between learning interest, parental involvement, as well as anxiety and mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students in the odd semester of SMP Cokroaminoto Wanadadi Banjarnegara regency in the academic year of 2016/2017. Abstract

Teacher-centered learning often makes students feel bored and not interested in participating in learning mathematics. This causes students to be less active in learning activities so that students become less familiar with the material described by teachers and resulted in low learning outcomes of mathematical learning. This study aims to determine whereas more effective learning between mathematics learning using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach with mathematics learning using a traditional approach to mathematics learning outcomes of students. The population in this study is the seventh-grade students of MTs Negeri Godean Sleman in the academic year 2015/2016 which consists of 4 classes. The sampling technique using a purposive sampling technique (sampling technique with certain considerations) to the class that obtained class VII B as an experimental class and class VII A as a control class. The data was collected using the test method. Instrument testing used validity, reliability, and difficulty level. The data analysis technique used analysis prerequisites of normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing. The result showed that 1) there is a different learning outcome between learning mathematics using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach with learning mathematics using a traditional approach. It’s based on two-tailed t-test obtained  and  with a significance level of 5% and the degrees of freedom, respectively and   , which meanings , and than is rejected and  accepted. 2) Learning mathematics using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach is more effective than learning mathematics using the traditional approach through mathematics learning outcomes on seventh-grade students of MTs Negeri Godean Sleman in the academic year of 2015/2016. It is based on the one tiled t-test obtained  and  with a significance level of 5% and the degrees of freedom, respectively and  which meanings , and than is rejected and  accepted.

Abstract

Teacher-centered learning and lack of learning media make the students pay less attention to explaining what the teacher gives, affecting the students learning results. The use of the cooperative learning model of Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) is expected to improve students learning results. The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not there are differences in mathematics learning outcomes between students using TAI type of cooperative learning model with direct learning model and to find out whether the TAI type of cooperative learning model is more effective than the direct learning model to the results of class VIII even semester of Muhammadiyah Junior High School (SMP Muhammadiyah) 1 Minggir Sleman District Academic Year of 2016/2017. This study's population was 237 students of class VIII at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Minggir Academic Year of 2016/2017, consisting of seven classes. Samples were taken two classes using a random sampling technique that is by drawing. Derived VIII G as the experiment class and VIII F as the control class. Method of data collection using the student's initial ability documentation and test methods. The instrument of this research is the test of mathematics learning results in the form of multiple choice. Analysis of data used is test prerequisite analysis consisting of a normality test and homogeneity test. The hypothesis test used is a paired t-test and a one-sample t-test. The results in the significant level of 5% and db = 66 show that : (1) there are differences in students' mathematics learning outcomes using TAI and mathematics learning outcomes of students who use the direct learning. The value of tcount = 3.3587 evidenced this and ttable = 1,9949 so that tcount > ttable means that rejecting H0 and accept H1. (2) Mathematic learning of students who used cooperative learning model type of TAI was more effective than students who used direct learning on mathematics learning outcomes. The value of tcount = 3.3587 evidenced this and ttable = 1,6672 so that tcount > ttable means that rejecting H0 and accept H1.
