Abstract

Exciting and Innovative Learning and Student enthusiasm can influence to the student learning outcomes. This thesis aims to know whether there is a difference between the results of mathematics learning using a cooperative learning model for Make a match and Talking stick type. Then, it also aims to know which learning model is more effective between the cooperative learning model for Make a match type and Talking stick type to the mathematic learning outcomes of the seven-grade student of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Gamping at Even Semester in 2016/2017 Academic Year. The type of this research is included in experimental research. The populations in this research are all seven grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Gamping at Sleman Regency in the 2016/2017 academic year, consisting of three classes with the total number of students 108. This research sample is seven-grade student A as the experimental class I, seven-grade student B as the experimental class II and seven-grade student C as the test class. Purposive sampling technique is used as a sample selection. The research instrument is a test of mathematic learning outcomes in the form of multiple-choice questions. Instrument test includes validity test, different ability test, and reliability test. The data analysis technique used in this research is a prerequisite analysis test consisting of normality test and homogeneity test. Hypothesis test uses a t-one side test and a t-two side test. The result of the research shows that the t-two side test with 5% significances and 67 degrees of freedom achieves the value of = 0,2278 and = 1,99601. It means that there is no difference between the value of mathematic learning outcomes of the student using a cooperative learning model for Make a match type and Talking stick type.

Abstract

Mathematic learning for the eighth-grade students at Muhammadiyah Junior high School Banguntaoan (SMP Muhammadiyah Banguntapan) Yogyakarta uses lecture method, discussion, and question and answer, which resulted in the students less enthusiastic during the mathematic lessons. Also, the mathematics lesson that is considered difficult, and the method is considered less fun is an obstacle for students to get a satisfactory mark. This research aims to find whether there are differences on students' result of learning mathematics using group investigation learning model and think pair share learning model and to compare the effectiveness of both models on the result of learning mathematics of the eighth-grade students of even semester at SMP Muhammadiyah Banguntapan Yogyakarta in the academic year 2016/2017. This research population is the eighth-grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah Banguntapan, which are class VIIIA, VIIIB, and VIIIC. The sample of this research is taken from two classes using a random sampling technique for the classes. It is obtained from the experiment class VIIIB and the experiment class VIIIA. The design of this research is the posttest-only control design. The data collection is obtained using the test method. The instrument is tested using validity, reliability, and different potency test. The data analysis technique used for prerequisite analysis tests is the normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test. The result of this research at a significant level 5% and df= 60 indicates that: (1) There are differences in the students' learning mathematics results using the group investigation learning model and Think Pair Share learning model. It is showed by the value of and  so that  and (2) group investigation learning model is more effective than Think Pair Share learning model on the students’ result of learning mathematics. Abstract

Low student learning outcomes related to a variety of factors. Numerical ability, the discipline of a student, and interest in learning a few factors relate to learning outcomes. This research aims to know if there is a real and significant of relationship numerical ability, the discipline of a student, and interest of learning with students mathematics learning outcomes in class VII in Muhammadiyah Junior High School 9 Yogyakarta (SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Yogyakarta) regency of even semester in the academic year of 2016/2017. The sample population in SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Yogyakarta in the academic year 2016/2017 consists of 5 classes. A sample class is a class VII A with using random sampling. The technique of the data collection method a questionnaire method and the test method. Data collection instruments using a numerical ability test, questionnaires discipline of student, questionnaires interest of learning, and mathematics achievement test. Test research instruments used validity, different test power, and reliability test. Analysis prerequisite test, including normality test, linearity test, and independent test. Data analysis for hypothesis testing using simple correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between numerical ability, the discipline of a student, and interest in learning of mathematics learning outcomes. The significant level of 5%,   and  with multiple correlation coefficient of R = 0,866, and multiple regression equation their variables is . Donations are relatively X1=60,958%, X2=38,846%, X3=0,196%, with multiple determination coefficient of 0,750 and the effective contribution X1=45,688%, X2=29,115%, X3=0,147%.

Abstract

Many factors influence the mathematics learning outcomes that students get. Parent's attention, learning interest, and learning discipline are factors related to mathematics learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the presence or absence of positive and significant relationships between parent's attention, learning interest, and learning discipline with mathematics learning outcomes of students class VII at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Godean District Sleman in even semester academic year of 2016/2017. The population in this study were all students of class VII at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Godean District Sleman in the even semester academic year of 2016/2017, which consists of 5 classes with some 172 students. The random sampling technique used to get the class sample and collected class VII B as a sample. Data were collected by questionnaire method and test method. Test instruments used validity and reliability testing. Prerequisite test analysis using normality test, independence test, and linearity test. Analysis of data using simple linear regression analysis and multiple regression analysis and correlation. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between parent's attention, learning interest, and learning discipline with mathematics learning outcomes of students class VII at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Godean District Sleman in even semester academic year of 2016/2017. It showed by  or 2,95 > 2,93 with , and the multiple regression equation is , RC X1 = 29,39%, RC X2 = 46,99%, RC X3 = 23,62%, EC X1 = 6,87%, EC X2 = 10,99%, and EC X3 = 5,52%.

Abstract

Middle school math learning has many diverse issues, including the lack of school facilities and students' interest in learning mathematics courses, which are still low. This study aims to develop media-based interactive multimedia learning math using Adobe Flash CS6 and determine the feasibility of the learning media. This study using ADDIE development research. Subject trials in the development of instructional media consists of the validation test subjects and subjects of research. Subject of validation that media expert lecturers and subject matter experts Ahmad Dahlan University and teacher of mathematics majors of class XI IPA at SMAN 2 Banguntapan. The subjects were students of class XI SMA Negeri 2 Banguntapan. These data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. Analysis of data using qualitative data analysis is then converted into quantitative. As for the success criteria set out in this research is the minimum feasibility of the product is on the value of Agreed. Product development based on the development of mathematical learning media interactive multimedia using Adobe Flash CS6 on the subject of the enumeration rules High School Class XI Science majors are declared eligible to be used as a medium of learning based on assessment questionnaire with an average score 40.72727273 with the agreed categories. Based on these assessments, the multimedia learning of mathematics is fit for use as a medium of learning.

Abstract

One indicator of the success of mathematics learning can be seen from the test results of the students. The test results not only to assess the students but through the test results can be known the difficulties faced by students and also the errors that many students do. Furthermore, the error is analyzed in-depth and then determined the appropriate action to be able to reduce the same error. The purpose of this study is to know and describe what kind of mistakes students make and find out the most mistakes that are often made. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The subject of his research is the students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Yogyakarta. The research object is the student's mistake in doing questions test on the Linear Equation System of Two Variables. This research's main instruments are the researcher itself, and the aid instrument is five questions test and interview guides. The technique of analysis used is the triangulation technique. The results of this research indicate that students make mistakes that are: 1. the error of concept, that is error determine a mathematical model and how to write an example of the problem; 2. the errors of principle, that is an error in understanding Linear Equation System of Two Variables settlement method; 3. the operation of the error, that is errors due to incorrect calculations.

Abstract

The mathematics learning in class VII MTsN 2 Yogyakarta is still centered on a teacher. Students assume that mathematics is a difficult subject resulting in the students' mathematics learning result. The learning by using cooperative learning model types of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) and TPS are expected to improve the students' mathematics learning result. This research aims to determine whether there are significant differences between the students' mathematics learning results who are taught using the STAD method and using the Think pair Share(TPS) method, which is better for the students' mathematics learning result, STAD method, or TPS method. This research population is all the students of class VII State Islamic Junior High School (MTsN) 2 Yogyakarta, consisting of seven classes. Meanwhile, the sample in this research there is two classes determined by random sampling. The research sample is class VII B as experiment class A with the STAD method, and class VII D as experiment class B with the Think Pair And Share (TPS) method. This research instrument is a test of mathematics learning results. It is analyzed by using the validity test, distinguishing power, and reliability. Then, data analysis uses t-test two parties and t-test one party. Based on the analysis of the first hypothesis test is t-test two parties on the students' mathematics learning result with significance degree of 5%, and freedom degree of 64 obtained 𝑡count= 4,0479, and 𝑡𝑡able=1,99894, then 𝑡count > 𝑡𝑡able so that there is a significant difference between the students' mathematics learning result who are taught by using STAD method and by using TPS method, and the second hypothesis test is t-test one party with significance degree of 5%. Freedom degree of 64 obtained 𝑡count= 4,0479, and 𝑡𝑡able=1,669525, then 𝑡count > 𝑡𝑡able so that the STAD method is better than the TPS method of on the students' mathematics learning result.

Abstract

Learning that tends dominated by teachers leads students are less active in the following study. Students only passively accept the teaching of teachers so that students have difficulty in understanding the material. It is thought to be one of the factors that led to lower students’ mathematics learning outcomes. This research is intended to find out the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model type of student teams achievement division (STAD) and numbered head together (NHT) toward mathematics learning outcome of the VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 2 sewon Kabupaten bantul in the odd semester of academic year of 2016/2017. This study uses a posttest-only control design. There is three class in the population of this study, samples were taken from two classes with random sampling techniques to the class. Data collection was conducted with the test model. The instrument used questions related to the subject of algebra. Before analyzing data, there is a prerequisite test that consists of a normality test and a homogeneity test to do. The data analysis using t-test two parties and one party t-test.  The results of a study on the significant level of 5% and dk = 53 indicating that there is a significant difference between the results of learning mathematics using cooperative learning model STAD with the use of models NHT type of cooperative learning. This is indicated by the value and  which mean  and STAD cooperative learning model is more effective than the cooperative learning model NHT type, against the mathematic learning student's results. This is indicated by the value  and  which mean.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan karena partisipasi siswa yang rendah selama proses pembelajaran dikarenakan pembelajaran masih berpusat pada guru dan penggunaan model pembelajaran yang sama secara terus menerus. Hal ini diperkuat dengan hasil belajar matematika yang masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri 1 Sleman semester genap tahun ajaran 2017/2018.Populasi penelitian suluruh siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri 1 Sleman . Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan random sampling diperoleh kelas VII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII D sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil belajar matematika diperoleh menggunakan metode tes. Pengujian instrumen menggunakan uji validitas dan uji reliabelitas. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk uji prasyarat adalah uji normalitas dengan Chi-Kuadrat  dan uji homogenitas dengan uji-F, sedangkan uji hipotesis dengan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada taraf signifikan 5% dan dk = 56 diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa (1) ada perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar matematika antara siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing dengan siswa yang pembelajaran yang menggunakan model langsung.  Hal ini ditunjukan dengan nilai. (2) pembelajaran matematika menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing lebih efektif dibandingkan menggunakan model langsung terhadap hasil belajar matematika. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan .

Abstract

Keberhasilan siswa dalam pendidikan di sekolah merupakan hasil yang diperoleh dari proses kegiatan belajar. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi hasil belajar atau prestasi belajar yaitu cara belajar yang dilakukan siswa itu sendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cara belajar matematika siswa berprestasi kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 8 Yogyakarta.Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 11 siswa yang memiliki nilai matematika tertinggi di setiap kelas XI MIPA dan objek penelitiannya tentang cara belajar matematika. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi dengan instrumen penelitiannya berupa wawancara dan observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cara belajar matematika subjek yang diteliti adalah tidak membuat jadwal belajar matematika secara khusus maupun tertulis. Jadwal disesuaikan dengan keadaan masing-masing subjek. Hal ini berlaku untuk siswa yang berprestasi. Pembagian waktu belajar rata-rata pada malam hari antara pukul 19.00-21.00 atau 20.00-22.00. Melaksanakan jadwal belajar juga disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan subjek, rata-rata lama belajar kurang lebih 1-2 jam. Saat membaca buku matematika subjek langsung membaca rumus dan contoh soal. Catatan dibuat dengan menuliskan hal-hal yang penting seperti rumus dan contoh soalnya. Mengulangi pelajaran matematika dengan banyak mengerjakan latihan soal dan membuat ringkasan. Melakukan konsentrasi dengan meningkatkan motivasi dan minat terhadap matematika, memiliki tempat yang nyaman, melakukan hal-hal yang dapat mencegah kebosanan, dan menyingkirkan hal-hal yang dapat mengganggu konsentrasi. Mengerjakan tugas biasanya dikerjakan soal yang mudah dulu. Ketika menghadapi ujian subjek mengatur kembali jadwal belajar, menyiapkan bahan materi untuk belajar, membaca ringkasan, mengerjakan soal latihan, menjaga konsentrasi dan kesehatan.
