Abstract

Heavy equipment is a tool used to assist humans in performing construction and manufacturing projects to support good governance in the development of infrastructure as well as in the mining process. In use, heavy equipment is not a tool that has never experienced a failure in the system or group component, also in product design even on the work process during its life cycle which will lead to some disadvantages like low levels of production, not achieving the timetable or targets that have been set and also losses from repairing costs. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the systems or any component group that experienced failure the most in the heavy equipment and also need to provide a "value" on the failure. With this, it’s expected to help prevent a decrease in productivity by taking action a precaution against the systems that have high failure value. Value of the failure can be calculated based on unscheduled breakdown data that processed using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). This research was conducted using primary data obtained from the data breakdown and by collecting supporting data relating to the object of the report. With this research, it can be obtained the system or component group that has the largest failure value on the heavy equipment.

Abstract

Used hydraulic oil SAE 10 is a waste activities that are often found in Indonesia, especially in mining and plantantion scale hydraulic large. Waste used oil SAE 10 can be used as a fuel mixture of hydrocarbons is done by mixing the used oil hydraulic SAE 10 with other fuels such as gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel with the addition of a maximum percentage of less than 50%. this research tries to investigate exhaust emissions on diesel engines with hydraulic mixing used oil into diesel fuel with a mixture of different variations. The machine used is a four-stroke diesel engine with a maximum power of 4.4 kW. Be based testing has been done variations of a mixture of 5% and 10 % is still within the allowed limits.

Abstract

Excavator Zaxis 450LC-3 is a heavy equipment used in mining activities. The company that owns the equipment as a powerful engine will be able to carry out the operation or production to the maximum. The cause of disruption Excavator damage that often occurs is the interference with the components on multiple systems. For example undercarriage systems, electric / starting, fuel, lubrication, cooling, air intake / exhaust and so on. Thus it is necessary to study the Analysis of the Reliability Methods DMAIC In Unit Excavator Zaxis 450LC-3 at PT X, so that the operation can continue and to determine the reliability value / reliability of excavator zaxis 450LC-3. The analysis can find out the factors that influence decreasing the reliability of the unit excavator zaxis 450LC-3 with the DMAIC method and provide recommendations on the appropriate treatment plan unit zaxis 450LC-3 excavators. Following the analysis of the reliability of the DMAIC method, the reliability of the unit zaxis excavator EX1149, and EX1132 has low reliability. Resulting in lower reliability on zaxis 450LC excavator unit is due to the high frequency of unplanned break down in the system: undercarriage, hydraulic system, cooling system, electric system, and fuel system. Based on the known potential failure, the hydraulic system and engine, then do a treatment plan include: Predictive maintenance, lubrication tasks, corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance and proactive maintenance

Abstract

in this research have a purpose the amount of syngas produced in the process of mixing rice husk gasification with low quality coal at temperature 500 °C and to know the number of side pruduk of Tar and Char from gasification updraft rice husk and low quality coal at temperature 500 °C. In this research, the result of syngas on updraft gasification process of rice husk and low quality coal is as much as 96,62 L. The highest volume in sempel SP 200 gr: BB 0 gr equal to 29,56 L, at sempel SP 180 gr: BB 20 gr equal to 25,7 L, at SP 140 gr: BB 60 gr equal to 21.88 L and volume at least on SP 100 gr: BB 100 gr equal to 19.45L. The result of by-product of updraft gasification of rice husk and low quality of coal was obtained by highest tar on SP 200 gr: 0 ml of 58.75 ml, at sempel SP 180 gr: BB 20 g produced as much as 45 ml, at SP 140 gr BB 60 g produced 32,5 ml and at sempel SP 100 gr: BB 100 gr yielded as much as 22,5 m

Abstract

This study aims to know the process of making brass bushing to succeed into a product along with the value of violence and roughness. Methods used include evaporative method, CO2 sand mold and method x. This research is done by first preparing tools and materials then done casting process where brass used in melted then cast into casting castings and in chill with well water. Furthermore, the machining process using a lathe with carbide chisel and engine rotation used for 590 RPM. From roughness test result after machining process got value at outside diameter of point A 2,532 μm, point B equal to 2,544 μm, point C equal to 2,673 μm, then diameter in point A equal to 1,539 μm, point B equal to 1,749 μm. For the value of hardness on the method of sand mold CO2 obtained an average value of 42 HRB, evaporative methods of 33.2 HRB and method x obtained an average value of 39.8 HRB. Fromithese results it is known that the hardness of the best bushing in this research is by the method of sand mold CO2 because it has good heat resistance and good mold density.

Abstract

The Indonesian state is rich in natural resources, the various benefits of natural resources are useful for human survival. Various kinds of plants in Indonesia are useful as technical material.One of the engineering materials is Composite. Composite is a material formed from a combination of two or more matrials that have stronger mechanical properties than the material forming. The composite consists of two parts: a matrix as a binder or a composite protector and a filler as a composite filler. Natural fiber is an alternative filler, and bemban fiber (Donax Canniformis) is one of the many natural fibers grown in the Hulu Sungai Selatan area of South Kalimantan. From the research result, the influence of volume fraction on composite fiber bemban has the most optimum strength that is on variation 60% fiber bemban 40% Polyester with no alkalization that has absorption energy 13.23 joule and the impact price of 0.067 joule / mm².

Abstract

Wood saws are hand machines that small industries need. Almost all work processes through a saw machine with good results. Circular saws are not only used in timber industry, but also in the carbuery industry, by plumbing, construction experts, loggers or gardenists. In any hobby there are wearing it. For manufacturing process of making wood sawing machine in allotment for wooden pallet craftsman. The formulation of the problem in making this saw machine is how to manufacture wood saw process for wooden pallet craftsman and howmuch budget cost in manufacturing process of saw machine for wooden pallet craftsman. The components of the saw machine are frame, table mat, bearing, shaft, pulley transmission and V belt, while the tools and machinery used in the manufacturing process are electric welding tools, electric grinding wheels, grinding wheels, lathes, and frais machines.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of mixed used oil and biodiesel mixture on droplet combustion test characteristics. . This research was conducted by dripping the fuel at the tip of the thermocouple to form a droplet with a volume of 0.1 mm, then bringing the heater to the droplet to form a fire. This study aims to determine the influence of mixed oil and biosolar of flash point value, ignition delay time, burning rate and maximum fire height. This research used variation of used oil mixture 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50%. The results show that flash point value increases with increasing percentage of used oil, which is influenced by the viscosity, density, and volatility of each variation of fuel mixture. The value of the ignition delay time increases with increasing percentage of used oil, which is influenced by the viscosity, density and volatility of each variation of fuel mixture. The burning rate value decreases with the increase of the used oil mixture, which is influenced by the viscosity, density, and volatility of each variation of fuel mixture. The maximum value of fire that can be achieved decreases, along with the increase of variation of used oil mixture and is influenced by viscosity, density and volatility value and each variation of fuel mixture.

Abstract

Bemban (Donax Canniformis) is a plant similar to rattan, the stem produces fiber woven material. This plant has other names bamban, bumban, bomban, and so forth. Composites are a new type of material combined with two or more ingredients and have different properties with each other both physical properties and chemical properties. From the research of this hybrid composite stem rod, it is known in the specimens of impact test of volume fraction 60% bemban (Energy Absorption 21,11 J and Impact Price 0,0332 J / mm²) has the most optimum ductility than volume fraction 40% Energy Absorption 20.62 J and Impact Price 0.0324 J / mm²) and 50% bemban bemban (Energy Absorption 20,96 J and Impact Price 0.0330 J / mm²). In bending test specimens, the volume fraction of 60% bemban stem (Bending Strength 0.45 MPa) has the most optimum ductility properties compared to the volume fraction of 40% bemban rod (Bending Strength 0.63 MPa) and 50% bemban (Bending Strength 0.72 MPa). In tensile specimens fraction volume of 60% bemban rod (Tensile Strength 0.00449 MPa) has the most optimum ductility properties compared to volume fraction of 40% bemban rod (Tensile Strength 0.00224 MPa) and 50% bemban rod (Pull Strength 0.00284 MPa).

Abstract

In the present era of technological developments in the industrial world is growing and progressing. But in the industrial world can not be separated from the manufacturing process, especially in the field of welding, because welding has an important role in engineering or reparasi-raparasi associated with metal welding. And also a lot of welding is used in the field of design. The scope of welding use in construction is very wide including shipping industry, bridge, steel frame, heavy equipment, transportation facilities, pipeline and so forth. In the process of welding requires a person who is reliable or skilled in welding work, in order to produce good quality results. The highest value of bending stress is found on air cooling medium that is 2870,17 N/mm², And the lowest bending voltage value is in water cooling that is 2460,1 N/mm².. The highest shear stress value is in air cooling medium ie 197.96 N/mm², and the lowest shear stress value is in water cooling that is 169.68 N/mm². The bending voltage value allowed is the highest in the air conditioning medium 2474.5 N/mm², And the lowest permissible bending stress value is found in water cooling of 2121 N/mm².
