Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the relationship between students mastery of concepts and problem solving on the rigid body lesson. This research was a correlational study. The research sample consisted of 64 students of 12th class of the state senior high schools were selected using purposive random sampling. The research instrument consisted of multiple choice questions to measure students ‘mastery of concepts and problem descriptions to measure students’ problem-solving. The average value of students’ mastery of concepts and problem solving students respectively were 52.81 (11.98) and 31.95 (10.06). Data results of both tests were analyzed with Pearson product moment correlation. The results showed a positive correlation between mastery of concepts to problem-solving student.Key Words: mastery of concepts, problem solving, rigid bodyAbstrak: Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara penguasaan konsep dan pemecahan masalah siswa pada materi benda tegar. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian korelasional. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 64 siswa kelas XII dari dua sekolah SMA Negeri yang dipilih menggunakan purposive random sampling. Instrument terdiri dari soal pilihan ganda untuk mengukur penguasaan konsep dan uraian untuk mengukur pemecahan masalah. Rata-rata nilai penguasaan konsep dan pemecahan masalah berturut-turut adalah 52,81(11,98) dan 31,95(10,06). Data hasil kedua tes dianalisis dengan korelasi pearson product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya korelasi positif antara penguasaan konsep dengan pemecahan masalah siswa.Kata kunci: penguasaan konsep, pemecahan masalah, benda tegar

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara keterampilan proses sains dan self efficacy mahasiswa Teknik Sipil pada mata kuliah Mekanika Tanah . Jenis penelitian adalah korelasi dengan melakukan observasi dan pemberian angket. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 53 mahasiswa Jurusan Teknik Sipil. Instrument terdiri dari angket untuk mengukur self efficacy dan lembar observasi untuk mengukur keterampilan proses sains. Data hasil kedua tes dianalisis dengan korelasi pearson product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya korelasi positif antara keterampilan proses sains dan self efficacy mahasiswa.

Abstract

Peserta didik merupakan pelaksana dari proses pembelajaran yang memiliki beberapa faktor pendukung bagi ketercapaian tujuan pembelajaran. Faktor yang berasal dari peserta didik adalah motivasi, daya intelegensi, dan konsentrasi. Dari ketiga faktor tersebut motivasi seringkali menjadi aspek yang paling diabaikan dari strategi pembelajaran. Pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik berbasis masalah dirasa mampu menumbuhkan motivasi belajar. Pendekatan saintifik (scientific approach) adalah salah satu model pembelajaran yang dalam prosesnya memuat kaidah-kaidah keilmuan, mulai dari pengumpulan data dengan observasi, menanya, melakukan eksperimen, mengolah informasi atau data, hingga mengomunikasikan dengan tujuan memberikan ruang pada peserta didik secara luas untuk melakukan eksplorasi dan elaborasi materi pembelajaran, serta mampu mengaktualisasikan kemampuan melalui kegiatan pembelajaran yang telah dirancang oleh pendidik. Artikel ini berisi uraian kegiatan pembelajaran pada mahasiswa dengan tujuan memberikan pemaparan mengenai tahapan pendekatan saintifik berbasis masalah dalam menumbuhkan motivasi belajar mahasiswa. Pembelajaran Mekanika Tanah dengan Pendekatan Saintifik Berbasis Masalah dapat dilakukan dengan dan tanpa kegiatan praktikum. Meski tanpa praktikum, tahapan yang dilakukan tetap mengacu pada lima tahapan dasar yakni mengamati, menanya, mengumpulkan informasi, menalar, dan mengkomunikasi. Kegiatan pemberian masalah dapat dilakukan pada tahap mengamati, menggali informasi, atau pada kegiatan diskusi tambahan setelah tahap mengkomunikasi.

Abstract

Learning in higher education is focused on practical learning. Every practicum that is carried out requires basic knowledge, cooperation, and belief that comes from each individual. This belief is called self-efficacy. This study aims to determine the increase in student self-efficacy after carrying out learning with an inquiry-based module in the Soil Mechanics course. The self-efficacy measurement tool uses a questionnaire sheet containing 15 questions. The results showed an increase in self-efficacy in the experimental class and control class with a g value of 0.67 and 0.34 in the medium category.

Abstract

In addition to producing food products that are safe for consumption, food producers are also required to produce high quality products to meet consumer satisfaction. However, in reality, there are still many economic actors who do not understand how to improve and maintain the quality of their products. The second problem found by researchers in the pineapple stick business group is the lack of attractiveness of the product packaging offered. The purpose of this service activity in the form of training and mentoring is to help partners, in this case the pineapple stick production business group, to determine good packaging to extend shelf life, determine product packaging designs that can attract consumers' attention, and help business groups obtain NIB. Problem solutions are carried out in two stages of activity, namely preparation and implementation. The preparation stage is carried out with pre-survey activities, socialization and coordination of activities, preparation of work programs, preparation of training modules, and preparation of facilities and infrastructure during training and mentoring. The implementation phase is carried out in the order of socialization activities and assistance in the use of packaging materials, packaging design training and assistance, business group legality assistance, and ends with monitoring and evaluation.

Abstract

Bailey Bridge is a steel frame bridge that is generally used as a temporary emergency bridge. Although this type of bridge has been widely used, one of them is at the location of the Pesaguan-Kendawangan Road, but there are still some obstacles in the steel frame assembly process. Therefore, the researcher wants to make a comparison between the standard method of implementing the Bailey Bridge in the Temporary Bridge Technology book and the method implemented in the location. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation method of bridge assembly at the location of Jalan PesaguanKendawangan and compare it with the standard method. The research was carried out using observation and interview methods with informants to obtain information about the assembly of the Bailey bridge at the location. The results of observations and interviews were analyzed by comparison with the standard Bailey Bridge. The data obtained shows that there are nine steps of implementing the assembly of Bailey Bridge components at the location of the PesaguanKendawangan Road Section, starting from the assembly of base plate components, panel components, panel post I components, transom components, pin components, bracing components, raker components, panel post II components, and finally the deck plate component. The comparison results show that 6 out of 10 bridge assembly parameters have met existing standards.

Abstract

The study at the Kauman roundabout is essentially motivated by the performance of the intersection, the flow of traffic that occurs causes congestion, especially during rush hours, so it needs further attention. The purpose of this study are determine the effect of unsignalized intersections with roundabouts on capacity, degree of saturation, delays and queuing opportunities that may occured, and the Level of Service (LOS). The research method in data collection is direct observation in the location. The types of data used are both primary and secondary. Primary data, is obtained from direct observation in the location, while secondary data is obtained from related agencies. The basis for solving or analyzing data is using the equations contained in the 1997 Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia (MKJI) to determine the performance value, feasibility and the level of service. The results show that the performance values (DS) on the AB, BC, CD, and DA links are 0.30; 0.39; 0.26; and 0.38. The level of feasibility of the Kauman Roundabout is good in serving traffic flow because the degree of saturation in each link is less than 0.75. Meanwhile, the level of service in all relationships has a B value

Abstract

Transportation problems in big cities in Indonesia, especially on Jalan R. Suprapto, Ketapang Regency are increasing from time to time in line with population growth, rapid growth in the number of vehicles and vehicle ownership, urbanization and an inefficient public transportation system. This has an impact on the decrease in the performance level of the road segment, including the U-Turn motion behavior at the road median opening. This study aims to determine traffic characteristics, road capacity, road service level (LOS), the average time for vehicles to perform U-turns, queue lengths and alternatives that will be applied in this study based on the 1997 MKJI guidelines. From the results of research and discussion on Jalan R. Suprapto the characteristic value of traffic flow which consists of traffic volume at rush hour from the direction of Jl. R. Suprapto – Jl. Gatot Subroto at 513.8 smp/hour and for the direction of Jl. Gatot Subroto – Jl. R. Suprapto at 651.35 smp/hour. The vehicle speed is 49.86 km/hour. Traffic density for the direction of Jl. R. Suprapto – Jl. Gatot Subroto of 10.24 smp/km and for the direction of Jl. Gatot Subroto – Jl. R. Suprapto 13.1 pcu/km. The road segment capacity is 5,422.3 pcu/hour. The value of the road service level obtained an A value.

Abstract

In Ketapang District, there is potential to reduce the environmental impact of concrete production by utilizing local agricultural waste. This study aims to determine the comparison between the physical properties of coconut fiber and palm kernel shells as aggregate substitutes in concrete, with the physical properties of conventional aggregates such as sand and crushed stone. Coconut coir came from tourism waste in Ketapang Regency, while palm kernel shells were taken from the waste of the local palm oil processing industry. Laboratory tests were conducted to compare the physical properties of coconut fiber and palm kernel shell with conventional aggregates, namely sand and crushed stone. The test results showed significant differences. Coconut husk had a specific gravity of 1.19 and palm kernel shell 1.59, compared to sand 2.09 and crushed stone 2.81. The moisture content of palm kernel shell (17.40%) was much higher than that of crushed stone (1.15%), while the water absorption of palm kernel shell reached 37.16%, far above the water absorption of crushed stone (4.05%). Coconut husk and palm kernel shell have lower specific gravity than conventional aggregates, making them ideal for lightweight concrete. However, the high water absorption of palm kernel shells requires adjustments to the concrete mix design. This study shows that the use of local waste materials can contribute to the development of environmentally friendly concrete, but careful composition control is required to maintain concrete performance. Abstract

This study aims to assess the effect of using Fly Ash and Rice Husk Ash as cement substitutes in the manufacture of environmentally friendly concrete. Fly Ash, a waste from coal-fired power plants, and Rice Husk Ash, an agricultural waste, were used as partial cement substitutes in four concrete mix variations, viz: normal concrete without substitution (N), concrete with 20% Fly Ash (K), concrete with a combination of 10% Fly Ash and 10% Rice Husk Ash (L), and concrete with 20% Rice Husk Ash (M). The compressive strength test was conducted at the age of 7 days, 14 days, and 28 days. The results showed that concrete with 20% Fly Ash (K) produced the most optimal compressive strength, especially at longer concrete ages. Concrete with Rice Husk Ash substitution (M) and a combination of Fly Ash and Rice Husk Ash (L) showed lower compressive strength than normal concrete (N) and Fly Ash alone. Therefore, the use of Fly Ash at 20% gave the best compressive strength results among the variations tested.
