Abstract

The development of technology and education is a set of two inseparable things. In education, technology affects both the learning process and the interaction between teacher and students. This condition poses a challenge for teachers, students, and schools to prepare innovative and exciting learning strategies so that the learning process runs optimally. This research aims to develop mobile learning as a learning medium in education. The research uses Research and Development Method with the ADDIE development model. The data collection method utilizes Social-Emotional in Learning Questionnaire previously tested for its validity and reliability to 30 students in Tangerang, Indonesia. The data analysis technique used is Pearson product-moment in quantitative approach. The results of this study reveal that there are 20 valid items of the SEL Questionnaire in addition to a model of mobile learning to equip decision making skill as one of the Social-Emotional skills needed in the 4.0 industrial revolutions. The model consists of 4 parts: pretest form, contents about decision-making skill, case study, and evaluation form. This research provides an alternative approach based on technology to enhance students' decision-making abilities in guidance and counselling services.

Abstract

School counselors play a strategic role in preventing suicidal ideation in high school students. However, limited competence in implementing resilience-based interventions can reduce the effectiveness of counseling services. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of resilience soft skills training in enhancing the competencies of school counselors in suicide prevention. The study used a quantitative, one-group pre-experimental design with a pretest–posttest model. The study subjects consisted of 35 high school counselors in Karanganyar Regency. Data collection was conducted using a structured questionnaire that assessed school counselors' understanding and skills in developing resilience and suicide prevention strategies. The training program was conducted over several sessions, starting with the conceptual basics of resilience, then covering risk factors for suicidal ideation among students, and finally applying resilience-based counseling strategies through discussions and practical exercises. Data were analyzed using a paired-sample t-test. The results of the analysis showed a significant increase in scores between the pretest (M = 53.00) and posttest (M = 80.00), with a t(34) = 20.00 and p < 0.001, as well as a very large effect size (Cohen's d = 3.38). These findings indicate that resilience soft skills training is effective in improving the competence of school counselors in supporting suicide prevention efforts of secondary school students. This study underscores the importance of resilience-based professional development programs for school counselors as an evidence-based approach to supporting student mental health.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pelatihan Preventif Intervention bagi Guru BK SMA untuk Mencegah Keinginan Bunuh Diri pada Siswa SMA di Karanganyar diselenggarakan oleh Program Studi Bimbingan dan Konseling, Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, pada tanggal 23 Juli–7 Agustus 2025. Pelatihan ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kesiapan guru BK dalam melakukan deteksi dini, memberikan Psychological First Aid (PFA), serta merancang program preventif untuk mencegah keinginan bunuh diri pada siswa. Metode pelatihan mengombinasikan sesi daring dan luring, dengan bentuk kegiatan berupa penyampaian materi, diskusi interaktif, penugasan mandiri, dan presentasi karya. Materi yang diberikan mencakup pemahaman suicidal thought, faktor risiko, dukungan sosial, konflik teman sebaya, resiliensi, hingga strategi kampanye pencegahan. Peserta menghasilkan produk nyata berupa RPP/modul ajar bimbingan klasikal serta media kampanye kreatif yang dapat langsung diimplementasikan di sekolah. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam aspek pemahaman konseptual, keterampilan preventif, dan sikap proaktif peserta. Tingkat kehadiran dan partisipasi peserta rata-rata di atas 85%, dengan antusiasme tinggi baik pada tahap daring maupun luring. Kendala yang dihadapi meliputi keterbatasan waktu praktik, perbedaan kemampuan teknologi, dan gangguan jaringan internet. Secara keseluruhan, pelatihan ini berhasil membekali guru BK dengan kompetensi preventif yang relevan terhadap kebutuhan nyata di sekolah. Ke depan, kegiatan serupa direkomendasikan untuk diperluas cakupannya ke guru mata pelajaran, wali kelas, dan orang tua, sehingga tercipta ekosistem sekolah yang lebih suportif terhadap kesehatan mental remaja.
