Abstract

Work stress appears as an interesting topic in the era of society 5.0, this condition can even arise among university workers. The emergence of work stress among workers in higher education can be caused by involvement in work. This lack of involvement triggers low performance and low welfare. The aim of this research is to obtain a representation of the work stress of university employees in Yogyakarta and the factors that influence it. The research sample was 329 workers at Yogyakarta City Universities who were selected using proportional random sampling techniques. Limitations for determining the research sample using the Krejcie Table for sample size. The data collection technique uses the Job Stress Scale adopted from Vic Catano's Stressors and Stress Outcomes, consisting of 8 aspects, namely competence, workload, work schedule, role conflict, role ambiguity, routine, rewards, life balance, and policy making. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive. The research results showed that 72% of workers said they were not experiencing work stress in terms of workload, routine, rewards and life balance. Meanwhile, health factors show a high percentage compared to the environment, meaning that health describes the work stress experienced by workers. University guidance and counseling service units can at least play a role in providing the training, counseling and therapy programs needed to overcome work stress.

Abstract

College students are confronted with evolving social roles and novel psychological conditions that can influence their academic resilience. Academic resilience represents a crucial and indispensable capacity of students to navigate various academic and career challenges in the future. This phenomenon occurs when academic resilience enables students to transform feelings of helplessness into a source of strength, empowering them to confront academic adversity in college. This study aims to elucidate the academic resilience profile of students in Yogyakarta and Malang, Indonesia. The research was conducted using quantitative methods with a survey research design. The research subjects were students in the cities of Yogyakarta and Malang, with a total of 412 students who were willing to be involved in the study. Purposive sampling was used as the sampling technique, and an academic resilience scale was employed to measure the level of academic resilience of students. The garnered research data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to obtain a profile of student academic resilience. The results indicated that there was no significant difference in academic resilience between students in Yogyakarta and Malang, Indonesia. Both groups of students exhibited good personal qualities but lacked the ability to build a sense of physical and emotional security.

Abstract

Elderly people are a population that receives attention worldwide because when individuals enter the elderly period, life changes automatically occur, from productive to non-productive, even reduced physical abilities. This condition can undoubtedly affect the psychological well-being of the elderly because it requires them to adapt to new situations that have never been experienced before. This study aimed to determine the psychological well-being of the elderly through descriptive analysis and difference tests to find the results of differences in the psychological well-being of male and female elderly people. Three hundred twenty elderly people, both men and women, were involved in this study. These elderly people were selected using purposive sampling techniques in the Yogyakarta area. Data collection used a psychological well-being scale with six indicators, namely (1) self-acceptance, (2) life goals, (3) environmental mastery, (4) personal growth, (5) autonomy, and (6) positive relationships with others. The data that had been collected were then analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon test. The study results showed that the psychological well-being of male elderly people was 54.45, lower than that of female elderly people, who obtained a score of 54.51. In terms of age, the psychological well-being of elderly people was lower than that of elderly people. However, the overall results showed no difference in the psychological well-being of the male and female elderly with a p-value of 0,076>0,05. The psychological well-being of the elderly is better because it emphasizes the spiritual dimension in building a better meaning of life.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pelatihan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru Bimbingan dan Konseling SMA di Kabupaten Sleman dalam menentukan diagnosis dan prognosis masalah siswa menggunakan pendekatan rational emotive behavior therapy. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen dan desain penelitian adalah pre-eksperimen dengan one group pre-test-post-test. Subjek penelitian adalah 31 guru Bimbingan dan Konseling Kabupaten Sleman. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis data deskriptif dengan membandingkan hasil post-test dengan pre-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan keterampilan guru Bimbingan dan Konseling SMA Kabupaten Sleman dalam menganalis masalah siswa terutama dalam menentukan diagnosis dan prognosis menggunakan pendekatan rational emotive behavior therapy yaitu sebesar 12%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan keterampilan guru Bimbingan dan Konseling SMA Kabupaten Sleman dalam menentukan diagnosis dan prognosis masalah siswa menggunakan pendekatan rational emotive behavior therapy mencapai hasil yang ditargetkan.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of college students' or counselees' satisfaction on the outcomes of counseling services at one of the universities in Yogyakarta. The type of research is cross-sectional, with 119 counselees as the research samples. The sampling technique used was total sampling. The data collection technique was carried out by giving two questionnaires to counselees using counseling services after they completed their counseling. Questionnaire 1 contains questions regarding satisfaction with counseling services, while Questionnaire 2 contains perceived counseling results. Descriptive analysis and Spearman correlation test were carried out in this study. The results showed that 74% of clients stated they were satisfied with the services they received, and 78.2% said they would recommend the services to others. The results of the correlation test produced a coefficient of 0.588 (p<0.005), which shows a significant relationship between the client's satisfaction and the counseling outcome. Counselees feel satisfied and gain new insight from the counseling services. Counselees also found their strength, felt more hopeful, and overcame their problems after attending counseling services. The level of client satisfaction is not just a subjective statement of satisfaction but is accompanied by a real impact or result of counseling. Therefore, counseling services in higher education need to be provided, which has led to significant changes for the counselees.

Abstract

Subjective well-being is one of the variables that can describe how an individual's level of life satisfaction. Individuals who have a high level of subjective well-being tend to feel happy and satisfied with their lives. This study aims to analyze the subjective well-being profile of college students. The profile of well-being will be seen based on gender, age, and level. This research is a quantitative research with survey research type. Data were collected from 202 college students from various study programs and levels that were determined using accidental random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using quantitative descriptive statistics. The results showed an overview of the subjective well- being profile of college students in terms of gender, age, and level. This research can be used as preliminary research for further research on the subjective well-being of college students.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pelatihan Preventif Intervention bagi Guru BK SMA untuk Mencegah Keinginan Bunuh Diri pada Siswa SMA di Karanganyar diselenggarakan oleh Program Studi Bimbingan dan Konseling, Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, pada tanggal 23 Juli–7 Agustus 2025. Pelatihan ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kesiapan guru BK dalam melakukan deteksi dini, memberikan Psychological First Aid (PFA), serta merancang program preventif untuk mencegah keinginan bunuh diri pada siswa. Metode pelatihan mengombinasikan sesi daring dan luring, dengan bentuk kegiatan berupa penyampaian materi, diskusi interaktif, penugasan mandiri, dan presentasi karya. Materi yang diberikan mencakup pemahaman suicidal thought, faktor risiko, dukungan sosial, konflik teman sebaya, resiliensi, hingga strategi kampanye pencegahan. Peserta menghasilkan produk nyata berupa RPP/modul ajar bimbingan klasikal serta media kampanye kreatif yang dapat langsung diimplementasikan di sekolah. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam aspek pemahaman konseptual, keterampilan preventif, dan sikap proaktif peserta. Tingkat kehadiran dan partisipasi peserta rata-rata di atas 85%, dengan antusiasme tinggi baik pada tahap daring maupun luring. Kendala yang dihadapi meliputi keterbatasan waktu praktik, perbedaan kemampuan teknologi, dan gangguan jaringan internet. Secara keseluruhan, pelatihan ini berhasil membekali guru BK dengan kompetensi preventif yang relevan terhadap kebutuhan nyata di sekolah. Ke depan, kegiatan serupa direkomendasikan untuk diperluas cakupannya ke guru mata pelajaran, wali kelas, dan orang tua, sehingga tercipta ekosistem sekolah yang lebih suportif terhadap kesehatan mental remaja.

Abstract

Perundungan, kekerasan seksual, dan intoleransi merupakan tiga dosa besar pendidikan yang sangat memprihatinkan akhir-akhir ini. Kondisi ini dapat berpengaruh pada pembentukan sekolah damai bagi peserta didik. Konsep sekolah damai yang diharapkan yaitu mampu memberikan tempat yang nyaman, aman, dan damai bagi siswa untuk mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah. Guru bimbingan dan konseling perlu mengambil bagian penting dalam pembentukan sekolah damai dengan mencegah perilaku bullying di sekolah. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini untuk memberikan penyuluhan soft-skill pencegahan bullying bagi guru bimbingan dan konseling SMP untuk meningkatkan sekolah damai. Metode kegiatan dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan yaitu sosialisasi, pemberian materi konseptual, dan praktik pembuatan media pencegahan bullying. Pengabdian ini dilakukan secara virtual sinkronus menggunakan zoom meeting dan offline di Dinas Pendidikan Kota Magelang. Sasaran kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah guru bimbingan dan konseling di Kota dan Kabupaten Magelang, sebanyak 50 siswa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa guru bimbingan dan konseling mampu mempraktikkan pembuatan media layanan bimbingan dan konseling dalam bentuk poster untuk mencegah bullying, sehingga dapat meningkatkan sekolah damai di SMP.   Soft skill counseling on bullying prevention for junior high school guidance and counseling teachers to create peaceful schools   Abstract: Bullying, sexual violence, and intolerance are three major sins of education that are very concerning lately. This condition can affect the formation of peaceful schools for students. The concept of a peaceful school is expected to provide a comfortable, safe, and peaceful place for students to take part in learning activities at school. Guidance and counseling teachers need to take an important part in forming peaceful schools by preventing bullying behavior. The purpose of this community service is to provide soft-skill counseling on bullying prevention for junior high school guidance and counseling teachers to improve peaceful schools. The activity method is carried out through three stages, namely socialization, providing conceptual material, and practicing making bullying prevention media. This service is carried out virtually synchronously using Zoom meetings and offline at the Magelang City Education Office. The target of this service activity is guidance and counseling teachers in Magelang City and Regency, with as many as 50 students. The results of the activity show that guidance and counseling teachers can practice making guidance and counseling service media in the form of posters to prevent bullying so that they can improve peaceful schools in junior high schools.
