Abstract

This research is based on concerns about the existence of supporting activities will have an impact on the visual quality of a commercial road corridor. Activities that appear in commercial corridors are trade and service activities as well as activity support. This activity support will affect the development of the city so that it is more lively, continuous, and peaceful. In a corridor these activities can bring a lot of visitors. The large number of visitors indicates that the corridor has an attraction. The method used in this study is a method of mapping behavior and space syntax combined with questionnaires. Then the results of these data are correlated so as to know the relationship of supporting activities to the visual quality of corridors. The findings of this study are in the form of supporting activity relationship to the visual quality of the corridor of Jalan Gajah Mada Pontianak. The correlation of data between placed centered mapping and space syntax, between placed centered mapping and questionnaires, as well as between questionnaires and space syntax, showed a positive correlation. The number and position of supporting activities in the form of pkl can increase movement in an area. High movement in space syntax can indicate that the visual quality of an area has a high value. An easy-to-recognize space will attract visitors to come and supporting activities in the form of street vendors can be a movement generator and attractor.

Even though government regulations have been enacted, there are still cases of crime, violence, exploitation and neglect of children in every province in Indonesia, one of which is the Province of West Kalimantan. Based on this description, it is necessary to design a Social Rehabilitation Center for Children so they would receive protection, education, develop creativity, and improve their social skills in the community. The design is intended for children aged 6-12 years because they require different handling. The design method uses the R. Whittaker method which consists of an introduction stage, definition stage, preparation stage, analysis stage, synthesis stage, and evaluation stage. Abstract

This research is based on the importance of open space for a city and the people in it as well as the covid-19 pandemic that happened. The covid-19 pandemic has established boundaries to prevent its spread. Things to avoid include physical contact, gathering in large numbers, and so on. Pontianak City has an open space located on the edge border of the Kapuas River, namely Waterfront City Pontianak. Waterfront City Pontianak is still crowded even though the covid-19 pandemic is happening. The number of visitors is a concern because it can become a field for the spread of the covid-19 pandemic. Based on the issues and phenomena that occurred, it was deemed necessary to have an open space setting in the Pontianak Waterfront City area that was responsive to the covid-19 pandemic. This research is related to human behavior and space, so the method that used is behavior mapping method with the type of place centered mapping. The place centered mapping method is supported by distributing questionnaires. The next thing to do is review the covid-19 health protocol, which has been determined by the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes). The results of the study show that the Waterfront City Pontianak setting has not responded to the covid-19 pandemic. Things that need to be improved or added include adding distance markers on the floor, changing the design of existing seating facilities and plant pots, providing covid-19 health post facilities, as well as providing hand washing facilities, hand sanitizers and information media for covid-19.

Abstract

Changes in lifestyle with increasingly crowded routines make humans pay less attention to physical conditions that can cause stress. So that from this potential, the idea of planning a design that prioritizes "health” in tourism and "health" can also be found in beautiful views around the area. The location is located in Singkawang City, which is in the waterfront area (Palm Beach) Jl. Pasir Panjang Beach, Sedau Village, Singkawang Selatan District which is a tourism area, and the soil type is soft soil. The selection of the structure used applies a concrete pile foundation. Health resorts and spas located in the tropics use a design approach using tropical architecture to provide visitors with comfort. This effort is made by implementing placement and orientation facing the main view and spreading so that each building gets wind circulation and is supported by mass compositions and the use of local materials, the use of natural ventilation, skylights, and sun shading. Visitors consist of individuals, couples, families, and other general groups who do not stay overnight by providing lodging facilities that are not only for resting but have health service facilities (health resort) like resort standards, resort suite, and resort family suite, treatment facility (health spa), restaurants, and wedding venues. The design method consists of the stages of an idea, information, analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and optimization.

Abstract

OF SINGKAWANG CITY ACCESSIBILITY ASSESSMENT BASED ON GRID DENSITYPopulation density will continue to increase in line with the increase in population and housing needs. The population density in a city can cause a mismatch between available space and the carrying capacity of its environment. Differences can make it challenging to allocate resources or assistance in a disaster. Currently, records of population distribution are only in the form of city or district density data. These data cannot clearly show the area with a specific population density. In this regard, it is necessary to research the population's spatial distribution and accessibility between spatial segments. Data on the spatial distribution of the people and accessibility can be used as a basis for consideration in urban development. This study aims to determine the population distribution on a 1 km grid and assess accessibility in Singkawang City. The methodology used in this research is the population mapping method and space syntax. This study carried out quadrant mapping and correlation analysis to assess city accessibility. City population distribution of Singkawang City results shows the highest density is concentrated in the West Singkawang district. Quadrant map showing Singkawang City has good accessibility. This map can be used as a recommendation for city development. With the quadrant division map, the government can concentrate on development and improvement in network units with low accessibility first. The correlation coefficient values of 42% and 19% indicate a positive and moderate correlation between the density distribution and accessibility on each grid units
