Abstract

Woman and man must have equality labor rights, including in their career development. Every employee has role to make the organization grow. This study address to see the implementation of the career development of the company for its employees especially those for women.The purpose of this study was to analyze how participants perceived career development provided by the company. How they feel and experience in using or opportunity in career development. Besides, the research uncover the drivers and obstacles they face in developing their career. The method used in this study is qualitative method with phenomenological study approach. Data collected by interview, observation and documentation in certain periods.The results showed in general career development is done without differentiating women and men. Women can balance their role in society, family and career even though the job description is not too small.

Abstract

There are several studies on conflict management styles applied to countries in Western and non-Western cultures, for example Turkey, India and China. Although many studies have examined conflict management style preferences in several countries in Asia, there have been no studies examining the influence of Indonesian national culture on conflict management style preferences. Thus the conflict management style is not yet known what is the preference of the Indonesian people. The research conducted by Ma (2010) states that Turks who apply collectivism value choose a style of collaboration and competition to overcome conflict. Whereas conflict management style which is the preference of Chinese society is a style of compromise, while the style of competition conflict management becomes a conflict management style that is avoided Kirkbride, Sara, and Westwood (1986). The purpose of this research is to know the influence of Indonesian national cultural values on conflict management style preferences.This research was conducted at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Diponegoro University of Semarang. The number of samples used were 65 respondents by census method. Data analysis method used in this research is simple regression analysis and multiple regression using SPSS.The results of this study indicate that the style of conflict management are more likely to use are compromising style and collaborating style, while the style of competing is a style of conflict management is rarely applied. In addition, the values of collectivism have different effects on the management style of employee FISIP Undip, such as the value of cooperation and acceptance the role in the group leads to the style of collaborating style preferences, and the value of cooperation and acceptance the role in the group leads to the style of compromising style preferences.

Abstract

This study aimed to know the role of Batak leadership style in the  company, which waslead by Batak’s leader. The purpose of this research was to know the understanding and view of the owner of the company to Batak’s leadership. Starts from identifying leader and employee perception on the practice leadership based on the values in the Batak’s culture.Batak’s culture which was the root of the Batak society, had essential part in the character building of the leader in Indonesia. The practice leadership based on the value in the Bataks culture become an integral part in the Bataks leadership practice in company.This study uses qualitative methods in which data collection was the role of Bataks leadership. The sample in this study were workers who have work experience of minimal 5 years at Ganesha Operation Medan. Results obtained from this study states that of the three elements of Bataks culture those are somba Marula-ula, Elek Marboru and Manat Mardongan Tubu already   reflects   the   role   of   Bataks   culture   in   the Ganesha Operation Medan

Abstract

Culture in a country has a close relationship to leadership in the country. The man is a leader for himself. Every human being has the desired leadership criteria. This research will discuss what kind of lead character the employee wants.The purpose of this research is to investigate what kind of leadership style desired by employees at Badan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia Daerah Provinsi Jawa Tengah. The method used is a qualitative method with phenomenology study approach, in which data collection is done by interview, observation, and documentation in a certain period. Methods are chosen on the grounds that research can be done in a more focused and in-depth manner.The results of this research indicates that the leadership desired by the employees is the leadership that gives the form of attention outside the work affairs, the leader who want to go down directly, embrace, democratic, listen to the voice of the staff, walk according to existing rules, and want to familiarize themselves with the staff .

Abstract

Basically, in Islamic perspective every human being is a leader whether for himself or another. Leadership someday will be counted in the presence of Allah SWT. Therefore, an Islamic leader is prohibited to act according to his will and his group but must follow the rules derived from Al-quran and As-sunnah. The main purpose of this research is to analyze and discuss the implementation of Islamic values in leadership functions. The method used in this research  is qualitative and phenomenology study approach. The method is choosen in order to archive  the participant’s life experience related to the phenomenon of Islamic leadership in RS PKU Muhammadiyah Temanggung. In attempt to collect the data, this research uses interview, observation, and documentation within a certain period of time. The finding of this research shows that managers of RS PKU Muhammadiyah Temanggung apply Islamic values such as siddiq (truthful), amanah (trustworthy), tabligh (deliver), and fatanah (smart) in instructive, consultative, control, and exemplary leadership functions.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of job satisfaction, job involvement that has been moderates by collectivism culture to the nurses in RSUD Kota Semarang. By using simple random sampling method, 87 persons are selected as the respondent. Analysis method which used in this research are validity and reliability test,classical assumptions test, and moderating regression analysis and hyphothesis testing.Analysis result demonstrates that job satisfaction and job involvement have positive and significant effect to professional commitment. Furthermore, collectivism culture moderates job satisfaction to professional commitment and moderates job involvement to professional commitment. The result of the analysis could be known that 67,1 percent variation of professional commitment could be explained by independent variable and moderating variable that has been examined, while 32,9 percent by the others variables outside this research.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the differences in the level of collectivism with graduate work motivation and relationships collectivism a variable component of motivation include: salaries, social work, and achievement. The sample used in this study were graduates of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and the Faculty of Humanities (FIB). As the independent variable is the individualism-collectivism, gender, and type of education. While the dependent variable is the motivation include: salaries, social work, and achievement. Sample method used in this study is simple random sampling. Methods of data collection using questionnaires distributed to 167 respondents. Engineering test data used penelittian include normality test charts, test the validity of the R arithmetic and R tables, test reliability by using coefficient alpha (Cronbach's alpha), and a different test T-test is to determine whether there is a difference in variance and correlation Karl Pearson to investigate the association between variables. Results of the analysis and discussion of the revelation that: (1) There are differences in the level of collectivism in work motivation graduates FEB and FIB, (2) there is a relationship between the level of collectivism in salary desired graduates, (3) there is a relationship between the level of collectivism in the social environment of work expected of graduates , (4) there is a relationship between the level of collectivism on the achievements of the coveted graduates.

Abstract

This study aimed to know the role of Javanese leadership in the Java company, which was owned by the leader and employee. The purpose of this research was to know the understanding and view of the owner of the company to Javanese leadership. Starts from identifying leader and employee perception on the practice leadership based on the values in the Javanese culture. Javanese culture which was the root of the Java society, had a big part in the character building of the leader in Indonesia. The practice leadership based on the value in th Javanese culture become an integral part in the Javanese leadership practice in company. This study uses qualitative methods in which data collection was the role of Javanese leadership. The sample in this study were workers have work experience of minimal 10 years at CV Batik Indah Rara Djonggrang Yogyakarta. Results obtained from this study states that of the five elements of Javanese cultue that is gotong royong, rukun, bisa rumangsa, sepi ing pamrih rame ing gawe, aja dumeh already reflects the role of Javanese culture in the CV Batik Indah Rara Djonggrang Yogyakarta.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of organizational citizenship behavior on employee performance and analyze the role of power distance as a moderator.This research was conducted at the PDAM Tirta Moedal Kota Semarang. Data collected through distribution of questionnaries to 97 respondents with simple  random sampling. This research using validity test, realibility test, the classical assumpation test, regression test and MRA (Moderated Regression Analysis) to test moderating variable with SPSS 16.0.The results of this research indicates that organizational citizenship behavior have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Meanwhle, power distance has a negative significant role on the relationship between organizational citizenship behavior and employee performance. High-power distance have a negative effect role on relationship between organizational citizenship behavior and employee performance.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of team work and organizational culture on performance of nurses (Studies in the General Hospital of Sunan Kalijaga Demak).        Variables (Independent) of this research is teamwork (X1) and organizational culture (X2). While the Bound Variable (Dependent) in this study was the performance of nurses denoted Y. The population in this study were nurses civil servants who work in hospitals LOVE consisting of 162 people, 162 nurses were then selected by criteria have been working for 2 years and a nurse who was PNS, so we get a sample of 98. the data collection methods used in this study is a questionnaire using Likert scale with interval 1-5. The analytical method used to test data quality, classic assumption test and test hypotheses with SPSS version 20.0.        The hypothesis of this study is H1 = Teamwork positive effect on performance, H2 = Organizational culture positive effect on performance. The analysis showed that the organizational culture of team work and positive influence on the performance of nurses. The results of the simultaneous test obtained F value of 7.883, the significant difference between the team work (X1) and organizational culture (X2) on the performance of nurses (Y) and vice versa. The results of hypothesis testing variables have the team work t count equal to 3.117 with a significance level of 0.002 <0.05. Thus H1 accepted, so it can be said that team work and significant positive effect on the performance of nurses. Hypothesis test results have organizational culture variable t count equal to 2,165 with significance level of 0.033 <0.05. Thus H2 is accepted, it may be said that the organizational culture positive and significant effect on the performance of nurses.
