<![CDATA[This research explores and examines the characteristics of the Concise Exegesis of the Holy Qur’an published by Appraisal Agency of Qur’anic Manuscripts (LPMQ) of Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia (Kemenag RI). The primary data of this study is the manuscript of LPMQ’s Concise Exegesis of the Holy Qur’an. Apart from that, this research also uses secondary data from other resources such as books and journal articles. In this regard, this research is library research. The concise exegesis book is analyzed using the methodology of Qur’anic interpretation proposed by Islah Gusmian in his book entitled ‘Khazanah Tafsir Nusantara’ (Nusantara’s Qur’anic Exegesis Heritage). This article outlines some important constructive remarks for future publication of the book. The remarks are as follow: 1) the naming consistency; 2) the consistency of the exegesis presentation structure; 3) the problem of verses’ translation writing format.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstrak:Aspek penting yang dikaji dari artikel ini adalah pada tataran kebebasan yang merupakan titik tekan para eksistensialis dalam upaya penerangan eksistensi, yang hanya dapat dicapai dalam relasi dengan transendensi. Sehingga Karl Theodor Jaspers melihat ada dua fokus persoalan yaitu eksistensi dan transendensi, bahwa bereksistensi berarti berhadapan dengan transendensi. Transendensi menyembunyikan diri, dengan demikian transendensi merupakan dasar kebebasan manusia. Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah berusaha untuk menggambarkan pandangan Jaspers terhadap konsep ketuhanan dalam kebebasan eksistensial manusia. Untuk mengkaji lebih jauh pemikiran Jaspers, metode yang penulis gunakan adalah library research dengan pendekatan analisis-holistik. Hasil dari artikel ini adalah Jaspers telah menggambarkan adanya kebebasan sebagai eksistensi manusia, dan merupakan kemampuan manusia untuk memutuskan dengan bebas. Adanya kebebasan yang dihayati akan mempertemukan eksistensi dengan transendensi, bagaimana manusia dalam situasi konkret dapat menjangkau transendensi melalui eksplorasinya terhadap chiffer sebagai medium menuju transendensi. Sehingga keyakinan Jaspers akan adanya transendensi yang senantiasa melingkupi merupakan kenyataan dalam kehidupan manusia secara otentik.Abstract:The important aspect that is studied in this article is the level of freedom which is the pressure point for existentialists in the effort to enlighten existence, which only can be achieved in relation to transcendence. So, Karl Theodor Jaspers sees that two focus issues are existence and transcendence, that existence means dealing with transcendence. Transcendence hides itself, therefore transcendence is the basis of human freedom. The purpose of this article is to attempt to describe Jaspers’ view of the concept of divinity in human existential freedom. To further examine Jaspers’ thoughts, the method that the author uses is library research with an analytic-holistic content approach. The result of this article is that Jaspers has described there is freedom as human existence, and this is the human's ability to decide independently. There is a freedom that is lived that will bring together existence with transcendence, how humans are in a concrete situation can reach transcendence. Through their exploration of Chiffer as a medium toward transcendence. So that Jaspers’ belief in the existence of transcendence that always surrounds is an authentic reality in human life.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to analyze the practice of debus in the Banten tradition using a hermeneutic approach. Existence illumination of debus in Karl Jaspers existential philosophical means to find relation between debus existence, debus players existence and their relation with Transcendental. Debus is a traditional martial art that has been passed down through generations in the Banten community. This tradition involves various mystical, ritualistic, and spiritual elements, making it intriguing to investigate through a hermeneutic perspective. The hermeneutic approach is employed to uncover the hidden meanings behind the debus practice. The study combines analyses of ancient texts, historical records, interviews with debus practitioners, and direct observations of debus performances to understand the cultural context, philosophy, and symbolism associated with the practice. The findings of this research are expected to provide a deeper understanding of the debus practice as part of Banten's cultural heritage and how this tradition remains relevant in modern society. Additionally, this research is also anticipated to offer fresh insights into the significance and meaning of the spiritual and mystical aspects inherent in the debus practice. With the hermeneutic approach, this research aims to unravel interpretative layers and comprehend how the debus practice in the Banten tradition serves as a valuable means of cultural expression and local identity. The outcomes of this research can contribute to strengthening cultural sustainability and preserving the debus practice for future generations.]]>

<![CDATA[This research discusses how Buddhists view culture in Banten, one of which is Debus Art and examines the role and social function of Debus in the Old Banten area. This research shows that in the teachings of Buddhism not to commit violence and not harm other people nor injure yourself. In this attraction, Debus performs his attraction using violence or immunity using sharp objects. This is the reason why Debus is related to Buddhist teachings which know the teachings of Ahimsa Love and Love. The results of this research show the views of non-Muslim communities towards Debus, that there are several opinions from Buddhists who reject Debus attractions that use the body's immunity or simply accept the existence of art in Banten as recognition of Debus as one of Banten's cultures. In the past, Debus functioned as a means to spread Islamic teachings, but then it developed into use as a medium to pump up the enthusiasm of the people of Banten in facing Dutch colonialism during the reign of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa.]]>

<![CDATA[Polarisasi keberagamaan kontemporer ditandai oleh munculnya dua kutub ekstrem: eksklusivisme yang menolak pluralitas dan mengklaim kebenaran tunggal, serta liberalisme yang membuka ruang tafsir agama secara bebas hingga melemahkan norma dasar syariat. Dalam konteks ini, pemikiran Imam Al-Ghazali menjadi alternatif filosofis dan sufistik yang menawarkan jalan tengah (moderasi) berbasis integrasi antara akal, wahyu, dan hati. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif berbasis studi pustaka untuk menelaah karya-karya Al-Ghazali seperti Al-Iqtisād fi al-Iʿtiqād, Ihya’ Ulum al-Din, dan Mizan al-‘Amal sebagai kerangka konseptual moderasi beragama. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Al-Ghazali menolak ekstremisme literal maupun rasionalistik, dan membangun sistem etika yang menyeimbangkan dimensi spiritual, moral, dan intelektual secara proporsional. Relevansi pemikirannya terbukti dalam berbagai praktik keagamaan kontemporer, mulai dari pendidikan, konseling spiritual, hingga pembangunan etika publik yang berakar pada sufisme. Dengan demikian, filsafat etika Al-Ghazali menyediakan landasan yang kuat untuk mengembangkan keberagamaan yang toleran, inklusif, dan kontekstual dalam menghadapi tantangan ideologis dan sosial keagamaan masa kini.]]>

<![CDATA[This article aims to explore the existential self of elementary school children in the context of an increasingly digital world, through an integration of Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and existential philosophy. Amid the widespread influence of technology and social media in early childhood, children begin to show signs of seeking recognition, self-worth, and existential meaning—dimensions often overlooked in primary education. Employing a qualitative approach through library research, this study examines how the sequential fulfillment of basic human needs, as proposed by Maslow, contributes to the development of authentic character in children. Furthermore, insights from existential thinkers—particularly Karl Jaspers’ notions of freedom and authentic existence—are employed to deepen the understanding of self-awareness and existential responsibility in children today. The study finds that elementary school-aged children are already experiencing existential dynamics, such as the need for social validation, identity anxiety, and the search for meaning. These can be positively addressed through a holistic, humanistic, and reflective educational approach. The findings highlight the crucial role of teachers and curriculum design in creating a learning environment that addresses not only children's physical and cognitive needs, but also their existential and self-actualizing dimensions. ]]>
