Abstract

Stow net fishing gear used fisher bay is not effective to operate because the use of shortening with a value of 17.8 % on the body gear stow net cause the formation of a perfect in body construction with water thus affecting the shape of mesh openings and the mechanism of operation of the tool . Formations are good for shortening the fishing cape stow net used selukup is 15 % for mouth and body , and 10 % for the waist , tummy and pouch . Due to the characteristics of fast-flowing waters tend bumpy enough and strong , it is necessary to increase the buoyancy of 2.880 gf so well established tools when operated .Keywords : Capture Device Stow net , Construction and Analysis

ABSTRACTPrimadi.heri@yahoo.comThe purpose of this study was to find the right position of fishing gear. If the goal was reached, this study is expected to provide benefits for fishermen in the field of arrest. The comparison of two arm and four arm straps were to determined the position of fishing gear on surface water. According to the period of fishing gear, the shift of fishing gear, the experimental results showed that the gear four arm straps on 49.6 cm / sec flow velocity, it can be said that fishing gear is better than two more stout rope arm movements. Keywords : Flow velocity, fishing gear performance, fishing gear

Abstract

A series histological observation on the fiber structure of mengkuang pandanus (Pandanus artocapus) leaves and breaking strength test were conducted for identifying potential of mengkuang pandanus leaves as natural fiber for making a rope as fishing gear material. The result show that the mengkuang pandanus leaves had epidermis and parenchyma highly density, as a result the structure fiber of pandan mengkuang leaves reach 4 kgf. The elongation of mengkuang pandanus leaves fiber was 20.1 mm and water absorption ability and sinking speed were 1 % and  0,59 cm/second respectively. Structure, breaking strength, water absorption ability and sinking speed of the mengkuang pandanus leaves are discussed on this paper detail. Abstract

This research was aimed to study about the potential of bundung grass as natural fibre for fishing gear materials. This research used the experimental method with used to test the breaking strength and elongation of the objects.Based on the histology, tissue of compiler at stems of bundung grass is a protective tissue (epidermis), the basic tissue (parenchyma), amplifier tissue (collenchyma and sclerenchyma) and carrier tissue (xylem and phloem). At the grass which has a length of 14 to 157 cm and a width ranging from 0.8 to 1.2 cm, where as for fine fibers produce reach 147 pieces with a diameter of 0,01 cm. Length of average of fine fibers produced at the grass was 58.39% length of grass. Bundung of fibres has the ability breaking load of 58,4 g, yarn 109 g and strand 853 g. Rope of fibres bundung grass has an average value of breaking strength and elongation of 1.8 kgf and 12.8 mm, while the rope from bundung grass stem with has an average value of breaking strength and elongation of 3.9 kgf and 20.1 mm. Bundung grass has potential used fishing gear material, but potential under of average other natural fibre after test. Keywords: Bundung grass, fishing gear material, histology, the breaking strength and elongation.

Abstract

AbstractThe research about results of catching crabs (Scylla Sp) with many baits using pinto fishing gear ( lift net) was do in september 2014 at desa sei nagalawan, Kecamatan Perbaungan, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai SumateraUtara. Aims to compare result of catching crabs use bait, commonly used by fisherman with another bait alternative. Will be expected can increase fisherman income. The method used in this research is experimetall fishing method is trials catching crabs (Scilla Sp) use natural bait an semi artifial bait with used lift net fishing techniques. Was done in 10 repetition and 4 treatments in one day was doing 2 times catches . research was doing in three days. The results of research show total most result of cacthing are used head of chicken bait ( 82 crabs) second, with used fish bait (43 crabs) last, with belangkas bait (33 crabs) and the most low results is with mixed bait (19 crabs). Keywords: Pento Fishing gear, bait, crab

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study was conducted in May 2014 held at the village of Batu Belubang Senayang District of Lingga District Riau Islands Province. The purpose of this study is to find the right form valves or better to be used by fishermen. This study uses three treatments, namely: valves the shape pointing up, valves whose shape pointing downward, and valves that looks straight ahead. The method used in this study is the experimental method, the entire unit of experiments carried out in the field. From this results, the catch valves leads down better than the catch valves pointing up and straight forward, both in the amount of weight (kg) and in the number of individuals (tail). Basic trap catches with all three forms of the valves dominated by domersal and carnivorous fish.Key words :

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the swimming speed of the free swimming intank and flume tank, an outdoor durability of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), and maximumswimming speed tilapia in flume tank. Therefore, to use experimental methods. Free swimmingspeed was 0,25 BL/sec, maximum swimming speed of fish occurs when the fish are given ashock to swim. Negative correlation between speed and endurance swimming R2 = 0,7295 showsa fish swimming endurance decreases at higher speeds. Sustained tilapia swimming speed of<1,91 BL/sec. Prolonged swimming speed effect tired very high the body of the fish. Tilapia hasprolonged speed of 1,91 to 16,28 BL/sec. Maximum swimming speed tilapia is >16,28 BL/sec,while fish baung 10,5 BL/sec. Frequency flick of the tail of the fish in the aquarium has anegative correlation with R2 = 0,0161, whereas in the flume tank has a positive correlation withR2 = 0,4471. The amplitude flick of the tail of the fish in the aquarium and in the flume tank hasa negative correlation with the value R2 = 0,0004 and R2 = 0,903.Keywords: tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), flume tank, swimming speed, free swimming speedand maximum swimming speed.
