Abstract

AbstractPublic speaking is the process of speaking to a group of people in a structured, deliberate manner intended to inform, influence, or entertain the listeners. Speaking in front of audience is not an easy task. It needs a good speaking skill. Fear and nervousness become major problem, especially for beginners who have not experienced in public speaking. This also occurs in members of the Muslim Youth Forum Gayamsari (Foksari). Their speaking competence is inadequate. That is why Public Speaking training activity is held. It is expexted to improve their skills. This activity is performed in two stages, namely the delivery of content and practice. Based on the evaluation, the results obtained are very significant. The existence of enthusiastic participants indicates that they are very interested. Besides, there is a seriousness of the participants who attend a series of events organized by the team from beginning to end.Key Words: Skill, Public Speaking, TrainingAbstrakBerbicara di depan umum adalah proses berbicara kepada sekelompok orang dengan cara terstruktur yang disengaja dimaksudkan untuk menginformasikan, mempengaruhi, atau menghibur pendengar. Berbicara di depan umum bukanlah tugas yang mudah. Perlu keterampilan berbahasa yang baik. Ketakutan dan kegelisahan menjadi masalah besar, terutama bagi pemula yang belum berpengalaman dalam public speaking. Ini juga terjadi pada anggota Youth Forum Muslim Gayamsari (Foksari). Kompetensi berbahasa mereka tidak memadai. Itulah sebabnya kegiatan pelatihan Public Speaking diadakan. Hal ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mereka. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam dua tahap, yaitu pengiriman konten dan praktek. Berdasarkan evaluasi, hasil yang diperoleh sangat signifikan. Adanya peserta antusias menunjukkan bahwa mereka sangat tertarik. Selain itu, ada keseriusan dari para peserta yang menghadiri serangkaian acara yang diselenggarakan oleh tim dari awal sampai akhir.Kata Kunci: Keterampilan, Speaking Training, Public

Abstract

Abstract To achieve the goal of teaching learning, a proper method, as an instrument, plays an important role in serving the teaching learning materials. The education of pre-school is aimed to develop the life skill, which covers attitude, knowledge, creativity, and skill. The teaching learning methode that forms the child?óÔé¼Ôäós character has to be turned back to the curriculum. It should remain concerning in the phase of the development and character of child who like playing, singing, dan moving. Finally, the teaching learning methode must be addressed in shaping academic, social, personal intellegence, and child?óÔé¼Ôäós creativity. Key words: a proper method, pre-school, life skills

Abstract

?é?á Abstrak ?é?á IbM ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan RA Al Hikmah Kecamatan Gayamsari dan RA Al Muta?óÔé¼Ôäóalimin Kecamatan Tembalang sebagai model sekolah ramah anak berbasis 3Ps (Provision, Protection, dan Participation). Sasaran IbM adalah 2 Kepala Sekolah mitra, dan 17 guru, dan orang tua peserta didik. Bentuk kegiatanya adalah 1) sosialisasi pengelolaan sekolah dan pendidikan ramah anak berbasis 3P; 2) membangun komitmen bersama antara kepala sekolah, guru, dan orang tua murid; 3) Pelatihan pengelolaan sekolah dan proses belajar mengajar?é?á berperspektif ?é?áramah ?é?áanak; ?é?á4) ?é?áParenting; ?é?á5) ?é?áPenyusunan ?é?áprogram ?é?ásekolah ?é?ádan program pembelajaran; 6) Implementasi program; 7) Monitoring dan Evaluasi. ?é?áPendampingan dilakukan pada setiap tahapan. Hasil yang dicapai adalah 1) adanya peningkatan pemahaman guru dan kepala sekolah di kedua RA tersebut tentang pengelolaan sekolah dan pendidikan ramah anak dan telah tercapainya kesepakatan bersama antara kepala sekolah dan guru untuk menyelenggarakan pendidikan ramah anak; ?é?á2) pembenahan administrasi sekolah, penyusunan program semester dan tahunan,?é?á ?é?áserta program?é?á penyelenggaran?é?á parenting secara rutin; 3)penataan tempat bermain yang lebih bersih, rapi, aman, dan nyaman: 4) pemenuhan kebutuhan makan yang sehat dan aman; dan 5) proses pembelajaran, penyusunan perangkat dan media sudah memperhatikan 3P.?é?á?é?á Kendala yang dihadapi adalah masih terdapat ketidak samaan pemahaman dari orang tua, masyarakat sekitar, dan sekolah terdekat yang tentang pendidikan ramah anak.?é?á Kata Kunci: sekolah model ramah anak, Provisi, Proteksi, dan Partisipasi

Abstract

Abstrak Teks adalah satuan unit bahasa yang mengungkapkan makna secara kontektual. Konteks dapat diinterpretasikan sebagai diversitas metafungsinal, yang meliputi makna eksperiensial, makna interpersonal, dan makna tekstual. Di dalam register, makna eksperiensial direalisasikan melalui field (Medan), makna interpersonal melalui tenor (pelibat), dan makna tekstual melalui mode (sarana). Register, genre dan ideologi direalisasikan di dalam teks. Teks akan mengungkapkan makna sosial di dalam konteks situasi dan konteks budaya. Register merujuk pada konteks situasi sedangkan genre merujuk pada konteks budaya. Register meliputi field, tenor, dan mode.

Abstract

This study focuses to figurative found in Frozen 2 movie, Descriptive method is used in this research, the data source of this research is the script of the movie Frozen 2. The researcher finds 36 sentences containing figurative language in the movie Frozen 2. All these terms are divided into nine categories, namely simile, metaphor, hyperbole, personification, metonimia, repetition, alliteration, irony, and lithotes. Researchers finds more types of figurative language containing repetition, there are 10 sentences finds in the movie Frozen 2. By reading this research, the researcher hopes that this research can provide readers with a deeper understanding of figurative language analysis. The researcher hopes that this research can provide inspiration for students who want to conduct research in the same field. This research shows readers the types of figurative language found in the movie Frozen 2.

Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of scientific approach and video media to improve students’ speaking skill. The aim was to find out significant differences between the experimental class that received treatment and the control class that did not receive treatment. The research was conducted for 4 days at SMPN 32 Semarang with a population of all ninth grade students. Meanwhile, the samples were from IXF as the experimental class and IXG as the control class. There are 30 students in each class who participated. The research is quantitative research and used quasi-experimental method. Instrument of the study was oral test and collected the data used pre-test and post-test. Technique of data analysis used IMB SPSS version 25. After 4 days of treatment, the average student learning outcomes were very significant. The Mean score of control class is 63.2 and experimental class is 80.9. The average score of the control class is lower than the experimental class, which means that te control class showed a slight improvement after the learning process without using a scientific approach and video media. Meanwhile, the experimental class showed significant improvement after the learning process using a scientific approach and video media. The results have been processed through SPSS and produced significant differences between the control class and the experimental class. So, it can be conclude that a scientific approach and video media are effective to improve students’ speaking skill.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of integrating popular English songs as a medium for improving vocabulary mastery among eighth-grade students. The research was carried out at SMP Negeri 32 Semarang, involving 32 students from class VIII-B. A one-group pretest-posttest design was applied, allowing the researcher to evaluate the students’ vocabulary mastery before and after the given treatment. The treatment involved two learning sessions utilizing the song “Blue” by Yung Kai, implemented through structured and interactive song-based learning activities. Data collection was carried out through pre-tests and post-tests that assessed both receptive and productive vocabulary knowledge. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ vocabulary mastery, as the mean score increased from 62.19 (pre-test) to 85.69 (post-test). A paired sample t-test analysis using SPSS 26.0 confirmed a statistically significant difference with a p-value of 0.000. These findings suggest that using popular songs in English instruction is an effective strategy to support vocabulary development, student engagement, and retention of language in a meaningful and enjoyable context.
