Abstract

This study have purpose to determine the rattan trading channel and rattan trading functions, to know the interests of actors who play a role in every channel of rattan commerce and to know the power relations of each actor in the rattan trading channel. The research was conducted in February 2017 with the research location in Batu Village Pitu Riase Sub-District Sidenreng Rappang Regency. Sampling was done by purposive sampling with farmer sample as many as 5 samples. For the involved trading institutions are determined by a search method in which 3 collectors sample sample and 1 sample of wholesalers. The data used are primary data and secondary data. Method of data analysis used is descriptive analysis to analyze farmer selling price and buying price of intermediary trader and to know the interest and relation of actor who play role in rattan trading channel. The results conclude that there is one trade channel in the research area, namely: farmers - collectors traders - wholesalers. The results of operational efficiency analysis show that the trading system channel is not efficient yet. The reason is the farmers still play a role as the recipient of the price. The level of importance between the actors on the rattan trading channel in Batu Village is different. Of the three elements of power (trust, incentive and coercion) can be concluded that the actors are influential and have the highest power of traders (industry).

Abstract

The management of protected areas and the surrounding community is an inseparable part. Community around the forest area is a component that interacts directly with the forest area. Interaction of the community with the forest area is influenced by the community's perception of the forest itself. This research was carried out at hamlet which bordered directly on Ko'mara Wildlife Reserve. Data collection was done by field observation, interview, questionnaire and study literature. The level of perception is determined by means of scoring techniques and the factors influencing the perception of the community are described descriptively. The results showed that: (1) the public perception on Karemanepasan and Karepatodo hamlet is moderate, while Ballaborong hamlet is low. (2) Age of the respondent in the productive age range, there is still a chance for a change in perception towards better. The low level of education of respondents influences the insight and way of thinking in the perception of the forest area. The work of the interviewees as farmers, who are heavily dependent on forests as water suppliers for their farms, can form a positive perception. Community engagement can be generally positive because the community can be a means of advising the reserve by the Area Manager.

Abstract

This study aims to : (1)To identify Kajang eligibilities of customary law, based on the law 41 of 1999 (article 67) to be recognized by local authorities as before customaty law determination as indigenous forests.  (2)To identify the obstacles in the process of a  strengthening the community of Kajang customary law in Bulukumba regency.(3)To formulate policy needed in maintaining the existence of indigenous community and forest conservation. This study was conducted in the village of Tana Toa, Subdistrict of Kajang, Bulukumba, South Sulawesi province. Descriptive analysis was used to determine the condition of Kajang customary law, in accordance with the terms used to confirm  customary law communities by the local governments, obstacles in the process of strengthening the customary law community, as well as to describe perceptions of  stakeholders in relation with constitutional courts decisions. Policy analysis was used to form policies needed in maintaining the existence of indigenous communities and forest conservation. The results of the study showed that Kajang customary law qualified and has been confirmed as customary law communities. The form of policies needed were policies that could synergize government and customary law in managing and conserving forests, proportional policies and necessary technical policies that could regulate the management and procurement of forest resources by Kajang customary law community. The perception of stakeholders were varied, but all supporting the indigenous forests to be passed through local legislation. On the other hand the stakeholders expected the government could assist in the process and remain as a driver and controller of customary law communities in the management of forest resources.

Abstract

Community forestry development in Gunung Silanu village is capable of rebuilding deforestation-affected forest, but communities can not take advantage of the potential forests to improve their welfare. Therefore, a strategy for community forestry development is required. This study aims to analyze the success rate of community empowerment programs in community forest management, analyze the drivers and restraints of community forest management, and formulate strategies and action programs for community empowerment development. The study was conducted from February to May 2018 in the community forest area of Gunung Silanu Village. The data obtained were identified and reviewed using the criteria tables and indicators of community empowerment. Furthermor drivers and inhibitors were identified to determine the importance of each factor through expert studies. Finally, strategies and action programs were formulated for each factor. The results show that the empowerment of community forestry development in Gunung Silanu village succeeded with a score of 2.4. Nevertheless, there are several factors that hinder the management of community forest. Therefore, the inhibiting factors will be reduced and simultaneously the driving forces will be strengthened through strategies and action programs.

Abstract

Local wisdom and local knowledge are very influential on the life of the Inner Tobelo Community in forest management in the Aketajawe Lolobata National Park in the Aketajawe block in Tayawi. This study aims to analyze the forms of local wisdom in forest management in the Tobelo Dalam community, as well as to examine the collaborative forms of the management of Aketajawe Lolobata National Park based on local wisdom.This study was conducted in February 2018 to May 2018 in the Aketajawe Lolobata National Park Aketajawe Block, Tayawi Hamlet, Koli Village, Oba Subdistrict, Tidore City Islands, North Maluku Province, Indonesia. This location was chosen as the location of the study because seeing the area of community life is still very dependent on the forest around it. The approach used in this study is qualitative descriptive and in-depeth interview with the aim of describing the forms of local wisdom in forest management in Aketajawe Lolobata National Park, especially in the Aketajawe Block in the Tayawi Village which includes land use, the system of labor, and utilization of non-timber forest products and directed also to illustrate how the collaboration model of Aketajawe National Park management is based on local wisdom, in this case the Stakeholders is the local Government and Local Community (Tobelo Dalam Community). The results showed that the existence of local wisdom used by the in Tobelo community in forest management based on rules and sanctions that had existed before had a very positive effect, so that the forest was maintained and sustainable. The collaboration or collaboration model between the government and the in Tobelo community is that the government always involves the Tobelo community in managing the national park aketajawe lolobata with the hope that the national park will be preserved, so far the types of collaboration or collaboration between the local government and the in Tobelo community management of the National Park, namely the government makes several in Tobelo Community as Guides for tourists coming to the National Park and also the government employs several Tobelo Dalam Communities to clean resort offices and National Park guest houses in the Tayawi resort, and making some people also as a security to maintain the office and guest house.
