Abstract

The effectiveness of problem solving through counseling can really be detected since the counselee begins to have a problem, namely when the counselee realizes that he has a problem. Counseling with people who are not aware of the problem is actually not effective. Counselee’s motivation to come to a counselor on the basis of awareness that he has a problem and is in need of someone else becomes a requirement of a successful guiding. In addition to the counselee’s motivation, another factor that influences the success of counseling  is  the  counselor’s  emphaty.  A  counselor’s  ability  to  show  emphaty   is   very important and indispensable to the success of counseling. The formulation of the problem of this study is as follows: 1. Is there a significant effect of counselee’s motivation on the success of    counseling process? 2. Is there a significant effect of counselor’s empathy on the success of    counseling process? 3. Is there a significant effect of counselee’s motivation and counselor’s empathy on the success of counseling process? The results of the correlation coefficient analysis showed that there was a great correlation between counselee’s motivation and counselor’s empathy and the success of counseling process as indicated by the correlation value 0.41-0.70 The analysis of determination coefficient showed that the success of counseling process was influenced by counselee’s motivation and counselor’s empathy by 23%. The result of t test showed that the first hypothesis, which reads "counselee’s motivation significantly influences the success of counseling process" was accepted and the second hypothesis, which reads" counselor’s emphaty significantly influences the success of counseling process" was accepted. The results of F test showed that the major hypothesis that reads "motivation counselee’s and counselor’s emphaty significantly influence the success of counseling process" was accepted.

Abstract

The success in learning does not depend merely on the brilliance of the brain. There are many other factors which affect the success intended. Attitudes, habits, and skills in learning contribute substantially  in determining the success of the students. Therefore, the students should strive to have  good attitudes, habits,  and skills in learning, and try to avoid or overcome obstacles in learning. A student who applies an effective method of learning may gain a higher achievement compared to those who apply ineffective methods. In fact, motivation also influences the success in learning. Highly motivated individuals usually pay their attention to personal achievement, not to prestige, obtained either with or without any help of others. High motivation has great affects on the individuals to achieve the desired performance. The  analysis  of  correlation  coefficient  showed  that  there  was  a  tight  correlation between      motivation and habits in learning with the success of the students of Guidance and Counseling as indicated by the correlation value of 0. 426. The analysis of determination coefficient revealed that the success of the students of Guidance and Counseling was influenced by variables of  motivation and  habits in learning by 18.2%. The t-test proved that the first hypothesis, which reads " otivation affects the success of the students of Guidance and Counseling" was accepted , and the second hypothesis, which reads" habits in learning affect the success of the students of Guidance and Counseling" was rejected. The F test showed that the major hypothesis which reads “motivation and habits in learning affect the students’ success" was accepted.

Abstract

The problems of this research were 1) whether or not the quality of counselor’s personality influences the effectiveness of counseling services in schools and 2) which characteristic(among the seven) of counselor’s personality is most influential toward the effectiveness of counseling services in schools. The analysis revealed the value of 0.855, which suggests thatthe correlation between the quality of counselor’s personality and the effectiveness of counseling services in schools was of very high degree. The analysis also indicated the coefficient of determination R2 values obtained was 0.731 45.4%, which means that the effectiveness of counseling services in schools was affected by the variable quality of private counselors. While, the t-test results showed that there was some difference of influence of the characteristics of counselor’s personality toward the effectiveness of counseling services in schools. The characteristic of counselor’s personality which is most influential toward the effectiveness of counseling services was the awareness of cultural experience, because it had the highest calculation value t, namely 4.792.

Abstract

There are two factors that affect the self-esteem of students, i.e. internal and external factors. Internal factors exist within students while the external factors come from the outside environment. In this case the most important of the internal factors is the self concept while the external factor is the school environment (including curriculum, good relationships with teachers, and learning infrastructure. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of private tutoring services and the self-concept of the students against the students’ confidence. The population in this study were the students of class VIII and IX of Saint Joseph Catholic Junior High School school year 2013/201. The number of respondents is 109 students. The sampling technique used is acidental sampling. The data obtained by using the scale questionnaire method is the private counseling service scale, the self-concept scale, and the self confidence scale. In this study the outher proposes three hypotheses: 1) The personal counselingservices  influence to the self-esteem of students, 2) The self-concept influencesto the self-esteem of students, 3) The personal counseling services and self-concept influence to the sel-esteem of students. The analysis technique used is the multiply linear regression techniques. The research proves; there is not influence of the private tutorial services to the students' self-confidence with t (0.109) <of the t table (1.990) the first minor hypothesis test. The Self-concept influences the self-confidence of students with t value (10.621) > t table (1.990). The major hypothesis testing shows the value of F (87.528) > of the F table value (3.08). Figures R = 0.789, shows that the correlation between the variables have a very strong cohesion. The effective contribution 0.623, means that 62.3% of the student self-confidence is influenced by personal counseling services and self-concept, while the remaining 37.7% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the extroverted attending technique counselors and asertiveness counselee influence on the success of counseling. The population in this study were all students of SMA Negeri 1 Dolopo Madiun who received individual counseling services among September 2015-May 2016 the number of 98 students. The sampling technique used by the author is saturated sampling thus the number of samples in the study of population of 98 students. The results processing questionnaires shaped scale is a scale of the attending technique counselors, scale of asertiveness counselee, and scale of success of the counseling. In this study, the authors propose three hypotheses, namely: 1) The first minor hypothesis that reads: attending technique counselors a significant effect the success of counseling, 2) minor second hypothesis, which reads: asertiveness counselee a significant effect the success of counseling, 3) major hypothesis reads: attending technique counselors and asertiveness counselee a significant effect the success of counseling. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression techniques. Model regression equation Y = 19.904 + 0.208 + 0.413 subsequent analysis results show that: 1) attending technique counselors a significant effect the success of counseling, proved t hit = 3.044 > t table = 1.990, 2) asertiveness counselee a significant effect the success of counseling, proved t hit = 6.562 > t table = 1.990, 3) behavioral counselors attending and asertiveness counselee a significant effect the success of counseling, proved a F hit = 126.670 > F table = 3,515. Based on these results can be summarized as follows: 1) The first minor hypothesis is accepted. 2) The second minor hypothesis is accepted. 3) The major hypothesis is accepted.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the perception on ideal counselors’ personalities according to the students of SMK PGRI Madiun Wonoasri for the 2014/2015 academic year  and whether the counselor personalities were in conformity with the ideal expectation of the students. The research population were all students of SMK PGRI Wonoasri for the 2014/2015 academic year, namely 1000 students. Using cluster random sampling, the total samples of this research were set at 25% of the population, namely 250 students. The data collection tool was the perception scale developed into the form of positive and negative statements following the Likert scale model with four alternative answers. The data analysis technique was descriptive percentage method (DP). The conselors who had ideal personalities according to the students can be sorted based on the indicator variables;  the highest percentage obtained from the subjects marking ‘appropriate’ and ‘very appropriate’ in their resposes was 1) Warm and friendly (97.6%), 2) Competent (99.2%), 3) Patience (97.4%), 4) Trustworthy and honest (97.5%), 5) Dignified (90.8%), and 6) Consistent (78.7%). The counselors who did not have ideal personalities were the ones who were only friendly at school and who did not get sense of humour.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences between the performance of counselors having educator certification and those having no educator certification in providing guidance and counseling services in schools. The population of this study were all counselors of junior high schools, senior high schools, vocational high schools, in the City of Madiun. The research samples taken with purposive sampling technique were 62 counselors consisting of 31 counselors who were certified and 31 counselors who were not.The data collection technique was a questionnaire with 4 alternative answers. The data analysis technique was descriptive percentage (DP and t-test. Descriptive percentage analysis results showed that the performance of counselors having sertification and the performance of those having no certification were both excellent in the implementation of guidance and counseling services in schools. The mean of the performance of counselors having educator certification was 1.1 higher than the mean score of the performance of counselors having no educator certification. The results of the t test showed a significant value of 0.718 > the value of α (0.05), then Ho was rejected meaning there is no effect of educator certification on the performance of counselors in carrying out guidance and counseling services in schools.

Abstract

The  purpose  of  this  study  was  to  obtain  an  description  on  students'  perceptions  towards individual  counseling  services  and  students'  counseling  interests  and  then  to  analyze whether there was a correlation between students' perceptions towards individual counseling services with counseling interests on the students of SMK PGRI Wonoasri Madiun Regency in  2017/2018  Academic  Year,  using  cluster  random  sampling  obtained  from  118  students. The description of students' perceptions towards individual counseling services is positive in the very high category and students' counseling interests are generally in the high category. The  research  hypothesis  "Students'  perceptions  towards  individual  counseling  services correlate  with  students'  counseling  interests  of  SMK  PGRI  Wonoasri  Madiun  Regency  in 2017/2018" is proven.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan memperoleh gambaran tentang: 1) Harapan (tingkat kepentingan) siswa atas layanan konseling individual; 2) Kenyataan (tingkat kepuasan) yang diterima siswa atas layanan konseling individual; 3) Harapan (tingkat kepentingan) siswa atas layanan konseling individual berdasarkan dimensi kualitas layanan; 4) Kenyataan (tingkat kepuasan) yang diterima siswa atas layanan konseling individual berdasarkan dimensi kualitas layanan; 5) Adanya gap antara harapan dan kenyataan yang diterima siswa atas layanan konseling individual. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa SMK PGRI Wonoasri Kabupaten Madiun yang pernah mengikuti layanan konseling individual pada tahun pelajaran 2019/2020 berjumlah 50 siswa. Karena jumlah populasi kecil, seluruh anggota populasi dijadikan sampel penelitian, dengan teknik total sampling. Analisis data dengan teknik statistik dekriptif. Hasil analisis adalah : 1) Harapan (tingkat kepentingan) siswa memanfaatkan layanan konseling individual berada pada kategori sangat penting, yaitu sebanyak 72%; 2) Kenyataan (tingkat kepuasan) yang diterima siswa memanfaatkan layanan konseling individu berada pada kategori sangat memuaskan, yaitu sebanyak 80%; 3) Harapan (tingkat kepentingan) siswa memanfaatkan layanan konseling individual berdasarkan dimensi kualitas layanan berada pada kategori sangat penting untuk dimensi kehandalan, empati, dan bukti fisik, sedang dimensi daya tanggap, dan kepastian pada kategori penting; 4) Harapan (tingkat kepentingan) siswa memanfaatkan layanan konseling individual berdasarkan dimensi kualitas layanan berada pada kategori sangat penting untuk dimensi kehandalan, empati, dan bukti fisik, sedang dimensi daya tanggap, dan kepastian pada kategori penting; 5) Ada gap antara harapan atau tingkat kepentingan siswa dan kenyataan atau tingkat kepuasan siswa dalam memanfaatkan layanan konseling individual pada dimensi kehandalan, empati, dan bukti fisik.

Abstract

Permasalahan mitra dalam organisasi Wanita Katolik RI (WKRI) Cabang St. Cornelius Madiun adalah rendahnya tingkat keterlibatan anggota dalam kegiatan organisasi. Rendahnya partisipasi anggota terlihat dari kehadiran dalam kegiatan rutin yang tidak lebih dari 50%, serta keterlibatan dalam kegiatan insidentil yang hanya mencapai 40%. Hal ini disebabkan oleh berbagai faktor, termasuk konflik jadwal dengan organisasi lain, kurangnya disiplin waktu, serta rendahnya motivasi dan komitmen dalam berorganisasi. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan komitmen anggota WKRI agar lebih aktif dalam berorganisasi dan menjalankan visi serta misi organisasi dengan lebih optimal. Mitra kegiatan adalah 25 anggota WKRI Cabang St. Cornelius Madiun, dengan rentang usia dan latar belakang pendidikan yang beragam. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini menggunakan sarasehan, yang meliputi ceramah, diskusi interaktif, serta pretest dan posttest untuk mengukur perubahan pemahaman peserta. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan secara luring selama 2,5 jam di Balai Paroki Santo Cornelius, Madiun. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap pentingnya motivasi dan komitmen dalam berorganisasi. Hasil pretest dan posttest mengindikasikan peningkatan motivasi anggota dari 20% (kategori sangat tinggi) menjadi 40%, serta peningkatan komitmen dari 16% menjadi 84% dalam kategori tinggi. Selain itu, evaluasi monitoring dalam tiga bulan setelah kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan partisipasi anggota dalam kegiatan WKRI, dari 52% pada bulan Juli menjadi 80% pada bulan Oktober. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah bahwa pelatihan dan sarasehan terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan komitmen anggota organisasi. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat keterlibatan anggota dalam organisasi dan membantu WKRI mencapai tujuan yang lebih optimal.
