Abstract

Dalam perkembangannya, individu tidak dapat terlepas dari hubungannya dengan kelompok sosial lainnya, misalnya kelompok teman sebaya. Lingkungan/kelompok ini akan ikut menentukan bagaimana individu itu berkembang. Tidak menutup kemungkinan adanya sifat kesebayaan ini, justru individu akan memperoleh keuntungan tertentu, antara lain sebagaimana diungkapkan Hamachek (dalam Shertzer & Stone, 1981), bahwasannya kelompok teman sebaya dapat dijadikan sebagaipengganti keluarga, dapat berfungsi menstabilkan pengaruh selama masa transisi, sebagai sumber memperoleh harga diri, perlindungan dari paksaan orang dewasa.

Abstract

Pelayanan bimbingan dan konseling sebagai bagian tak terpisahkan dari pendidikan sebagai sebuah sistem. Untuk menjadikan Bimbingan dan Konseling sebagai model pelayanan berkualitas, tak terpisahkan dari tipe temperamen konselor sebagai salah satu unsur dari kepribadian (personality). Para ahli di bidang konseling berpendapat bahwa efektivitas dan keberhasilan dalam interaksi konseling banyak dipengaruhi oleh watak, konselor, temperamen, sikap, minat dan daya penyesuaian diri dari konselor.

Abstract

Discipline is an important part of education in the context of formal, non-formal, and informal education. Discipline can be seen as a positive and constructive power which is capable of providing any equipment to form consistency, predictability, enjoyment, and suitable environment of educating and learning. Discipline in truth is not the obedience toward the rule which is forced from out side, but it is such a self-reliance which is based on desire to make an order in life. The weakness of students’ self-reliance will impact to the wrong manner, which is called the problem of discipline, where students break the rules: playing truant, being late for school, making noise, gossiping, and cheating. Counseling as an integral part of education is responsible for handling students’ discipline at school through un-punishment ways. The real group counseling by William Glasser can be proposed as a model of counseling for counselors to improve students’ discipline in un-punishment way. This model is hoped to provide counselors with practicality to help students to control their better life to have real manner, and to be responsible. The quantitative with experiment design aimed to search the effectiveness of real group counseling in improving students’ manner at school, which was indicated by the increase of self-reliance and the decrease of students’ indiscipline. Operationally the development model of reality teraphy comprises procedure of real group counseling with WDEP model, which cover 6 steps: participation, wants exploration, direction and doing, evaluation, planning, and termination. The study found some improvement on the aspects of self reliance and the decrease of duration of students, indiscipline which was guessed as the impact of the treatment. In other words, the treatment given to the subject which was designed in the form of real group counseling was effective to improve students’ discipline at school.

Abstract

Guidance and Counseling Services in school are the services which are personal approach and group approach in nature. Individual counseling is a service which is personal approach. In its implementation, individualized counseling requires that a counselor has the ability and skills in using facilitative responses for the attainment of the goals of counseling. Cormier & Cormier, (1991) and Brammer (in Romlah 2001) classify facilitative responses in the counseling relationship into several basic communication skills of counseling such as: opening, acceptance, structuring, reflection of feelings,  reflection of meaning, restatement, clarification, paraphrasing, confronting, questioning, reassurance, exploration, summary,advice, rejection, termination, focussing, minimum encouragement, exploration, and directing.Recognizing the importance of communication skills in counseling, the researcher focussed his study on the application of several communication skills in counseling by acounselor, whose general aim is to know how the basic communication skills in counseling are applied by counselors, especially school counselors of Junior High Schools in Madiunmunicipality.This research is descriptive with a sample of some 30 state junior high school counselors in Madiun municipality. The analysis of data showed that the average score of the application of overall basic counseling skills is 2.48, which is classified as good. In detail, of the 15 applications of basic counseling skills, a conclusion can be drawn as follows: (a) five of them are classified as excellent, namely skills of opening (mean 3.30), acceptance (mean 3.23), termination (mean 3.25), reassurance (mean 3.20), and structuring (mean 3.15), (b) four of them are classified as good, namely skills of reflection of feelings (mean 2.24), questioning/lead (mean 2.50 ), summary (mean 2.82), and rejection (mean 2.66), (c) six of them are classified as enough, namely skills of restatement (mean 1.97), clarification (mean 1.85), reflection of meaning (mean 2.00), confrontation (mean 1.59), paraphrasing (mean 1.95), and advice (mean1.47).

Abstract

This research aimsto determine the degree of influence of the self-control and self-disclosure for the establishment of disciplinary behavior model of students at school. The object of this research is the students of SMK PGRI Wonoasri Caruban Madiun of academic year 2011/2012, with131 students as its sampel.The analysis shows that (1) the first minor hypothesis is acceptable, based on the results of hypothesis test with the t value the 2865; t table = 1.658, p = 0.005 (significant) at 5% significance level, (2) the second minor hypothesis is acceptable, based on the results of hypothesis test with the t value = 9267; t table = 1.658, p = 0.000 (significant) at 5% significance level, (3) the major hypothesis indicates that there is a significant influence of self-control and self-disclosure toward disciplinary behavior. The data processing reveals the F value =46,856, at 5% significance level with F table = 2.290. This means that the major hypothesis is acceptable, because F value > F table.The findings of this research provide clear information that internal factors such as self-control and self-disclosure strongly influence the formation of the students’ disciplinary behavior with a contribution = 67.2%. It is very important for teachers as educators, school counselors as wellas for students themselves to consider the influenceof these two factors.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the competence of counselors dealing with the application of the basic techniques of counseling in the setting of counseling services at theeducation unit level of Senior High School and Vocational High School in Madiun. This research applied descriptive method with quantitative data in order only to describe variables,symptoms and conditions. The subject is the counselors of Senior High Schools and Vocational High Schools in Madiun. They are 50 in number. In this case, one of their tasks isto provide counseling services both individually and in group. To determine the subject of this study, total sampling technique was used due to the limited number of the subject. Theinstrument used to collect the data was the scale of basic communication skills of counselor.The data analysis made use of mean analysis method. The results showed that the overall mean score obtained by the application of basic techniques of counseling was 2.84. Thisillustrates that the school counselors at the education unit level of Senior High School and Vocational High School in Madiun generally possessed a good ability to apply a number ofbasic techniques of counseling. The application of basic techniques of counseling with a high mean score of the very good category was on the skills of opening (3.83), acceptance (3.75), reflection of feeling (3.25), reassurance (3.01), questioning (3.14), summary (3.19), and termination (3.45); while, the application of basic techniques of counseling with a lower mean score of fair category was on the skills of rejection (1.81), advice (1.86), and restatement (1.92),

Abstract

Reproductive health issues become crucial for human beings. Everyone has the same right to fight for his health. The students as the future generation intellectually have many advantages; as agents of changes, the students must have comprehensive understanding on the reproductive health and its impact. Otherwise, the cases of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) may increase. This study aimed to find the points of view of the students—namely the ones from the Guidance and Counseling study program, Widya Mandala Catholic University of Madiun—on  the reproductive health. This research was qualitative, descriptive, and interpretative in nature. The research samples were 40 students of Guidance and Counseling study program Widya Mandala Catholic University of Madiun. The data were collected by using questionnaires and limited interviews. The data taken from the questionnaires were analyzed with the average analysis technique; the data taken from the questionnaires were used to  strengthen the result of the analysis. The results of this research showed that 75% students had known the importance of reproductive health. It could be seen from the three aspects becoming the focus in this research; the aspect of premarital sex by an average of 4.55 (good category), the aspect of abortion by an average of 6.89 (excellent category) and the aspect of infectious diseases by an average of of 3.56 ( excellent category). Furthermore, from the limited interviews, it could be seen that keeping reproductive health was essential in order to prevent STDs. Finally, 88%  of them agreed the Guidance and Counseling study program, Widya Mandala Catholic University of Madiun provided counseling sevice including the reproductive health service.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Adlerian group counseling to overcome egocentric behavior on adolescent students. The population in this study were students of class VIII D 11 Madison Junior High School, school year 2013/2014 the number of 10 students consisting of 5 students in the experimental group and a control group of 5 students. Collection file techniques in this study using a scale egocentric behavior and direct observation in the form of a check list. This study used an experimental method with a pure experimental design. And using the pre-test and post test design with a control goup kind treatment. In this study there are two groups : the control group and the experimental group ( traitment ) treatment given Adlerian group counseling. The control group was given left without treatment. Then both groups were given a post-test. Adlerian group counseling meetings held as many as 5 times. File analysis of the measurements before and after treatment using the Adlerian group counseling techniques to One Way ANOVA to study 10 subjects, showed that : the experimental group arithmetic average (means ) pre-test was 18.456 with a minimum score of 91 and a maximum score of 116 probability 0.003 and the arithmetic mean (means) post-test is 8.253 with a minimum score of 50 and a maximum score of 99 probability of 0.021, with a probability of homogeneity in the results of pre-test 0.444 and post-test 0.107 . Thus there is a decrease in scores after treatment rendered (traitment). From these data it can be concluded that the Adlerian group counseling proven effective in overcoming egocentric behavior on adolescent students . Abstract

Egocentrism is a limited ability to interests or personal needs, not oriented to the separation / distinction between oneself and the people / other objects. In extreme teens are not concerned with other people's opinions of him. This thought is based on the hope that he will be the center of attention. This research aimed to analyze the effect of permissive parenting and adolescent social competence to egocentrism behavior. The population in this research are students class X SMKN 2 Jiwan Madiun learning activities 2014/2015 as much as 292 students with a sample 146 students. The sampling technique used is random sampling. Data obtained by using questionnaires shaped scale.. In this research, the authors propose three hypotheses namely: 1) The first minor hypothesis reads "if the intensity of permissive parenting is high, then the behavior of the higher egocentrism." 2) Minor second hypothesis states that "if the adolescent social competence is weak, then the higher the behavioral egocentrism" 3) Major hypothesis states that "if the intensity of high permissive parenting and adolescent social competence is low, then the higher the egosentrism behavior." Data analyzed by using multiple linear regression techniques regression line equation model Y = 30.384 + 0.221 - 0.021 further analysis of the results showed that: 1) there is influence between permissive parenting and egocentrism behavior t count=5.614 and t table=1.980, 2) there is the influence of social competence adolescents with behavioral egocentrism t count = -0.374 and t table = 1.980, 3) there is influence between permissive parenting and adolescent social competence with behavioral egocentrism F  count = 15.937 and F table=3.06. Based on these calculations can be summarized as follows: 1) t count > t table the first minor hypothesis is accepted, 2) t count < t table the second minor hypothesis is accepted, 3) F count > F table the major hypothesis is accepted.   Keywords: permissive parenting, adolescent social competence, behavioral egocentrism

Abstract

Reproductive health problem becomes crucial in human life. Every human person without exception have the same right to fight for his health. The students as the future generation has many advantages intellectually, as well as a reformer agent needs to have a view comprehensively associated with female reproduction and impact. Weak maintain reproductive health and misconceptions result from improper sources of information about female reproduction, increasing the likelihood of cases of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This study aims to find a picture of the view of students of guidance and counseling Widya Mandala Madiun University on reproductive health. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive paradigm-interpretatip. The research sample of 40 students of guidance and counseling. Data is collected using questionnaires and interviews are limited. Data in the form of questionnaires were analyzed with analysis techniques mean, and interviews described as a form of  strengthen the analytical results. The results showed that 85% of the students have learned about reproductive health. It can be seen from three aspects that are the focus in this research that aspect of premarital sex with a mean of 4.55 (good category once), aspects of abortion mean 6.89 (excellent category) and aspects of infectious diseases (STDs) with a mean of 3.56 ( excellent category). Furthermore, from the results of limited interviews students found keeping kesehataan female reproduction is essential to prevent sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and as much as 88% of their agreed if at Widya Mandala Catholic University Madiun, which has a course guidance and counseling established service bureau services counseling services including consultation on women's reproductive health.Key Words: reproduction health, premarital sex, abortion, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)
