Abstract

Kekerasan Berbasis Gender Online (KBGO) merupakan salah satu jenis kasus baru dalam Kekerasan Berbasis Gender yang saat ini mulai banyak dilaporkan kepada Komnas Perempuan. Kekerasan ini dapat terjadi karena difasilitasi oleh internet serta teknologi. Instagram merupakan media sosial yang memiliki banyak jumlah pengguna sehingga menjadi salah satu wadah terjadinya kasus KBGO. Penulisan artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh media sosial instagram terhadap kasus KBGO di masa pandemi COVID-19 serta menganalisis upaya-upaya apa saja yang dapat dilakukan dalam menangani kasus KBGO. Metodologi yang digunakan dengan pendekatan deskriptif analisis telaah pustaka sebanyak 21 literatur yang berkaitan dengan KBGO, media sosial, instagram, dan masa pandemi COVID-19 di Indonesia. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa instagram berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kasus KBGO di masa pandemi COVID-19. Adapun upaya yang dilakukan untuk menangani kasus KBGO seperti membuat akun khusus di instagram, sebagai wadah untuk korban KBGO berbagi kisah yang pernah dialaminya, melakukan seminar daring (webinar) di masa pandemi COVID-19, dan membuat kampanye dengan poster di instagram. Secara keseluruhan, Peristiwa pelecehan dengan komentar kasar serta pelanggaran privasi merupakan jenis kasus KBGO yang banyak terjadi di instagram. === Online Gender-Based Violence (KBGO) is a new type of case in Gender-Based Violence, which is currently being reported to Komnas Perempuan. This violence can occur because it is facilitated by the internet and technology. Instagram is a social media that has a large number of users so that it is one of the places for the KBGO case to occur. The purpose of writing this article is to analyze the influence of social media Instagram on KBGO cases during the COVID-19 pandemic and to analyze what efforts can be made in dealing with KBGO cases. The methodology used is a descriptive approach to analyzing literature review as much as 21 literature related to KBGO, social media, instagram, and the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The results of the analysis show that Instagram has an effect on the increase in KBGO cases during the COVID-19 pandemic. Efforts are being made to handle the KBGO case, such as creating a special account on instagram as a forum for KBGO victims to share stories they have experienced, conducting online seminars (webinars) during the COVID-19 pandemic, and creating campaigns with posters on Instagram. Overall, incidents of harassment with harsh comments and violations of privacy are the most common types of KBGO cases on Instagram.

Abstract

Lingkungan sekolah memiliki peranan penting terhadap motivasi belajar siswa di sekolah. Situasi lingkungan sekolah berimplikasi terhadap tujuan pembelajaran yang hendak dicapai. Melalui realita tersebut, artikel ini menawarkan pembahasan mengenai analisis lingkungan sekolah yang dapat mempengaruhi tingginya motivasi belajar siswa. Diskusi disajikan dengan memaparkan gambaran lingkungan sekolah yang baik serta faktor-faktor lain yang berperan dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian dilakukan di SLB Negeri Banyuasin dengan metode kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara serta mempelajari dokumentasi terkait yang membahas tentang kondisi lingkungan dan motivasi belajar siswa. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa lingkungan SLB Negeri Banyuasin memberikan pengaruh yang tinggi terhadap kemauan belajar siswa. Ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana yang memadai mampu mendukung proses belajar-mengajar dengan baik. Meskipun secara akademik prestasi siswa berkebutuhan khusus belum maksimal, namun lingkungan sekolah yang baik mampu mendorong kemauan belajar yang cukup tinggi kepada siswa.

Abstract

The color of wood is an important indicator that can be used for assessing the quality of wood, particularly for decorative product applications. This research aims to analyze the results of color changes in Solomon teak wood with impregnation modification (0.5 bar of vacuum for 60 minutes and 2.5 bar pressure for 120 minutes) using the impregnants monoethylene glycol (MEG) and polyethylene glycol (PEG). The Solomon teak wood used measures 2 cm x 5 cm x 10 cm, with a total of five repeated samples. The research results indicate that the treatment with PEG resulted in greater changes in brightness and color compared to aquades and MEG. The effect of impregnation with PEG and MEG on color change falls into the large category, while the category for wood impregnated with aquades is moderate.

Abstract

Balangeran is an endemic species of Kalimantan and offers numerous benefits for daily life. Balangeran is one such species utilized by the people of Kalimantan for various purposes. This study was conducted using a literature review method, analyzing various articles, proceedings, and books on the ethnobotanical aspects of Balangeran by comparing similarities and differences and subsequently drawing conclusions from the research. Several aspects collected include taxonomy, ecology and distribution, local names, and ethnobotany. Communities across various provinces in Kalimantan use the Balangeran trunk as building material, the bark as a dye, and make traditional medicines from the bark, leaves, branches, and twigs. Some phytochemical compounds found in Balangeran include alkaloids, saponins, tannins, phenolics, flavonoids, triterpenoids, glycosides, and steroids. However, despite its benefits, the population of Balangeran in the wild is declining and becomes a concern to preserve its existence and benefits through various conservation efforts.

Abstract

Identification of Subterranean Termite Infestation in Residential Areas in Bogor Regency, West Java. Subterranean termites are one of the pests that attack buildings. The interaction between termites and buildings significantly affects the durability, safety, and comfort of residential structures. This study aimed to identify the types of termites found in residential environments and determine the intensity of damage and frequency of termite attacks on pine wood (Pinus merkusii). Wood samples cut into 2 cm x 2 cm x 46 cm were conducted using the graveyard test for three months. The identified termite species was Macrotermes gilvus (M. Gilvus). The attack intensity obtained showed that 55% of the wood samples experienced damage due to subterranean termite attacks near the residential building, 30% remained unaffected, and 15% showed damage with penetration ranging from 3% to 75% of the cross-section. These results were reinforced by the high frequency of termite attacks on bait wood, which reached 70% (>40%). These findings are useful for homeowners if the area is later used for building construction. Therefore, preliminary measures are needed to address termite infestations in the area before using it for future building construction.

Abstract

Jabon (Anthocephalus cadamba Miq.) is a fast-growing wood that is widely utilized by the society as a construction material and furniture making. This study aimed to increase the density of jabon wood through a vacuum pressure impregnation method. Furfuryl alcohol (FA) and nano-SiO2 with three concentrations (0.5%, 0.75%, dan 1%) were used as impregnation additives, with control and FA without nanoparticles as comparisons. Impregnation was initiated with a vacuum (0.5 bar) for an hour, followed by pressure (2.5 bar) for 2 hours. The significant results on the physical properties of jabon wood including weight percent gain (WPG), bulking effect (BE), and density showed the success of the modification treatment through the FA and nano-SiO2 impregnation process with various concentrations, which the wood density increased from 0.60 g/cm3 to 0.94 g/cm3. The composition of FA and 1% nano-SiO2 solution was the best treatment to obtain the highest density in modified jabon wood.

Abstract

Fast-growing species are chemically and thermally modified to improve quality. These changes affect wood’s chemical composition and surface characteristics. This study aims to analyze the durability of fast-growing teak wood that has been chemically and thermally modified. Chemical modification was carried out by impregnation using citric acid and polyethylene glycol (PEG) 400, while heat modification carried out at 150 °C. The wettability of wood was tested by measuring the contact angle with six types of liquid, aquades, toluene, glycerin, methanol, alkyd, and acrylic paint. The results showed that chemical modification treatment significantly improved the wettability of wood compared to control and heat treatment. Wood treated with citric acid and PEG 400 exhibits a lower contact angle, indicating increased liquid absorbency. Conversely, heat treatment increased the contact angle value making the wood more hydrophobic. Alkyd showed better wettability than acrylic paints, possibly due to their lower viscosity values. This suggests that chemical modification more effectively improves wood coating adhesion.

Abstract

Wood is the primary raw material in the pulp and paper industry. Due to its favorable fiber characteristics, Jabon wood (Anthocephalus cadamba Miq.) is a promising fast-growing pulp and paper production species. This study investigates the effect of nine different chip size variations, including their length and thickness (1×3, 3×3, 5×3, 1×5, 3×5, 5×5, 1×7, 3×7, and 5×7), on pulp yield, fiber properties, and chemical performance using the kraft pulping method. Parameters measured include pulp yield, fiber length, fiber diameter, lumen diameter, cell wall thickness, and derived indices such as Runkle ratio, felting power, Muhlsteph ratio, rigidity coefficient, flexibility ratio, and kappa number. Results show that chip size does not significantly affect yield but influences fiber quality and kappa number. Shorter and thinner chips improved chemical penetration, resulting in lower kappa numbers and higher-quality pulp. Fiber classification based on IAWA criteria placed jabon wood in class II, indicating medium to suitable suitability for pulp. The study provides novel insight into optimizing chip geometry for kraft pulping of jabon wood, which has rarely been explored in previous literature. These findings are relevant for enhancing raw material efficiency and pulp quality in industrial applications.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa penanaman pohon dan pembersihan sungai adalah upaya dalam melindungi kelestarian sumber daya air. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada 31 Agustus 2024 dan bertempat di Sungai Karang Mumus, Kelurahan Lempake, Samarinda. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini diawali dengan penanaman 100 bibit pohon dengan jenis yang berbeda dan dilanjutkan dengan pembersihan sampah plastik dan styrofoam. Kegiatan ini berlangsung dengan lancar dan menyebabkan dampak positif terhadap penghijauan Kembali wilayah bantaran Sungai Karang Mumus dan peningkatan kesadaran bagi Masyarakat di sekitarnya.

Abstract

Urban communities plant more ornamental and vegetable crops than medicinal plants, although medicinal plants are one solution for maintaining health and supporting the treatment of illnesses within the family. There are many types of family medicinal plants useful in curing diseases that can be grown in the home garden or on the terrace. This community service aims to increase the knowledge of Dasa Wisma mothers in RT 31 and RT 33, Sungai Dama Village, about the types of family medicinal plants and to increase their knowledge of how to process and use family medicinal plants. The method applied in this service is lectures to educate about family medicinal plants, their processing, and their use. There were 35 Dasa Wisma participants. Based on the observation results, this service has a positive impact because the mothers actively asked questions during the discussion session after the material was presented. The Dasa Wisma mothers asked for more detailed information about how to process and use family medicinal plants. The average pre-test score obtained was 89.47, while the average post-test score was 93.52. The range of pre-test scores given before the material was presented and the post-test scores given after the presentation increased by 4.05. This indicates an increase in the knowledge of Dasa Wisma mothers regarding the types of medicinal plants in the family, as well as their processing and use. This community service effectively increased the knowledge of Dasa Wisma mothers about medicinal plants, how to process them, and their uses.
