Abstract

The Kanayatn Dayak in Tapakng Village has a local culture of using balimo plants for traditional medicine. Balimo is a plant, it has an important meaning in traditional medicine by the Kanayatn Dayak community in Tapakng Village. This study aimed to examine the ethnobotanical knowledge of balimo plants and their advantage among the Kanayatn Dayak  community in Tapakng Village. The research method with observation and deep interview and also semi-structured interview. Deep interviews was conducted with four key informants and the semi-structured interview was conducted with 60 respondents. The results showed that, the local people had a traditional treatment system to solve the disease problems. Balimo plants are used as a prevention of alcohol intoxication due to drinking arak and treatment of coughs (dry cough and bloody cough or (hemoptysis). The use of balimo as a prevention of intoxication has an important role because it is related to the Dayak Indigenous rituals. The level of ethnobotanical knowledge of local people showed that, 100% have heard about the balimo, 92% have seen balimo, and 55% have used it. This research provided information to the public about balimo that can be used in medication. Information on the utilization of balimo gives awareness to the people, the population of balimo really needs to be maintained in nature from extinction.

Abstract

  Abstract This research was aimed to found out the feasibility of submaterial media documentary film of biodiversity benefits for X grade senior high school. The method that was used in this research was a descriptive method purposive sampling. It was evaluated for its feasibility by material and media experts. The material experts was a lecturer of Biology Education Study Program of Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Tanjungpura University, a biology teacher of one of senior high school in Pontianak, and a biology teacher on tenth grade senior high school in Landak regency. Then, the media experts was a lecturer of Biology Education Study Program of Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Tanjungpura University and two ICT teachers of senior high school in Landak Regency. According to the assessment that was given by the validators, documentary film belongs to the valid category as a learning material with the average score of total validation was 3,68 and valid category as a learning media with the average score of total validation was 3,6 and suitable to be used as a learning media. According to the average score of total validation, documentary film suitable to be used as a learning media. Keywords: Biodiversity, Media, Documentary film

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginventaris jenis tumbuhan yang berguna untuk obat yang digunakan masyarakat suku Dayak Kanayatn, bagaimana mengolah tumbuhan untuk dijadikan obat dan gejala penyakit apa saja yang bisa disembuhkan dengan ramuan tumbuh untuk obat tradisional. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif, melakukan observasi langsung di tempat penelitian dan mewawancarai informan. Data dikumpulkan secara triangulasi, yaitu dengan menggabungkan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Tumbuhan diidentifikasi untuk menentukan nama ilmiahnya. Tumbuhan yang digunakan oleh masyarakat suku Dayak Kanayatn untuk obat tradisional di dapatkan 53 jenis tumbuhan termasuk ke dalam 32 famili. Famili terbanyak adalah euphorbiaceae, yakni terdiri 6 spesies. Tumbuhan digunakan untuk mengobati 31 jenis gejala penyakit. Bagian tumbuhan yang dipakai adalah organ ”akar, batang, daun, dan bunga. Pengolahannya dengan direbus, ditumbuk, diseduh, diremas, diparut, direndam, dipanggang, dan dijemur. Pengobatan yang paling banyak digunakan untuk penyakit yang berhubungan dengan sistem pencernaan.Kata Kunci: Eksplorasi; Tumbuhan Obat; Dayak KanayatnExploration of Useful Plants as Medicine by the Kanayatn Dayak Tribe in Tapakng Village of West KalimantanABSTRACTThis study aims to inventory the types of plants that are useful for medicine used by the Kanayatn Dayak people, how to process plants to be used as medicine and the symptoms of what diseases can be cured with herbs grown for traditional medicine. The method used in this study was a descriptive method, conducting direct observations at the research site and interviewing informants. Data were collected by triangulation, namely by combining interviews, observations, and documentation. Plants were identified to determine their scientific names. The plants used by the Kanayatn Dayak people for traditional medicine were 53 species of plants belonging to 32 families. The largest family was Euphorbiaceae, which consisted of 6 species. Plants were used to treat 31 types of disease symptoms. The plant parts used were the organs roots, stems, leaves, and flowers. Processing by boiling, pounding, brewing, kneading, grated, soaked, baked, and dried in the sun. The most widely used treatment for diseases related to the digestive system.

Abstract

Balangeran is an endemic species of Kalimantan and offers numerous benefits for daily life. Balangeran is one such species utilized by the people of Kalimantan for various purposes. This study was conducted using a literature review method, analyzing various articles, proceedings, and books on the ethnobotanical aspects of Balangeran by comparing similarities and differences and subsequently drawing conclusions from the research. Several aspects collected include taxonomy, ecology and distribution, local names, and ethnobotany. Communities across various provinces in Kalimantan use the Balangeran trunk as building material, the bark as a dye, and make traditional medicines from the bark, leaves, branches, and twigs. Some phytochemical compounds found in Balangeran include alkaloids, saponins, tannins, phenolics, flavonoids, triterpenoids, glycosides, and steroids. However, despite its benefits, the population of Balangeran in the wild is declining and becomes a concern to preserve its existence and benefits through various conservation efforts.

Abstract

Tumbuhan liar hidup di alam bebas tanpa adanya campur tangan manusia. Tumbuhan liar dianggap sebagai pengganggu oleh masyarakat suku Dayak Benuaq di kampung Muara Tae karena terkadang tumbuhan liar juga hidup pada sekitar kebun ataupun halaman rumah, namun beberapa tumbuhan liar memiliki potensi yang sangat baik untuk dijadikan sebagai bahan obat kosmetik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menelaah kearifan lokal dan jenis tumbuhan liar yang digunakan sebagai bahan kosmetik oleh masyarakat Dayak Benuaq yang berada di kampung Muara Tae. Metode yang diimplementasikan dalam penelitian ini purposive sampling dan wawancara langsung kepada 16 responden yang terpilih termasuk tokoh adat dan petinggi kampung. Hasil penelitian didapatkan 7 jenis tumbuhan liar yang berguna sebagai kosmetik oleh masyarakat suku Dayak Benuaq di kampung Muara Tae. Tumbuhan liar yang beguna sebagai kosmetik ada yang berbahan tunggal dan ada juga campuran/ramuan menggunakan tambahan lainnya. Organ daun dan habitat hutan tumbuhan liar yang banyak berguna sebagai kosmetik dengan masing-masiang presentase 57%. Masyarakat suku Dayak Benuaq di kampung Muara Tae masih menjaga dan mempertahankan penggunaan tumbuhan liar sebagai bahan kosmetik karena manjur khasiatnya sebagai bahan kosmetik dalam perawatan tubuh.

Abstract

Program Gerbangtara (Gerakan Bangun Nusantara) merupakan program yang mempertemukan akademisi muda dari berbagai perguruan tinggi di Kalimantan Timur sebagai respon terhadap tantangan dan peluang pembangunan berkelanjutan di Ibu Kota Negara (IKN). Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keikutsertaan delegasi Universitas Mulawarman dalam forum diskusi klaster riset yang diselenggarakan di Kabupaten Paser, Kalimantan Timur. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penelitian partisipatif, meliputi diskusi terfokus lintas disiplin, perumusan gagasan strategis, dan penyusunan naskah rekomendasi (working paper). Delegasi Universitas Mulawarman, khususnya dari Fakultas Kehutanan dan Lingkungan Tropis, berkontribusi dengan menyampaikan perspektif tentang tata kelola hutan dan konservasi ekologi dalam proses perencanaan kolaboratif yang sejalan dengan prinsip Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs). Rekomendasi yang disampaikan meliputi pelestarian keanekaragaman hayati hutan hujan tropis dan pengembangan bank benih dan bank gen sebagai infrastruktur ekologi jangka panjang. Inisiatif tersebut selaras dengan gagasan Tanpa Kemiskinan (SDG 1), dengan mempromosikan lapangan kerja melalui program restorasi dan ekowisata. Sementara itu, gagasan Konsumsi dan Produksi yang Bertanggung Jawab (SDG 12) mendukung pengelolaan sumber daya berbasis hutan yang berkelanjutan. Keluaran dari partisipasi ini adalah sebuah konsep yang disebut dengan working paper. Selain itu, diskusi kolaboratif dalam program ini juga memperkaya wawasan penulis sebagai akademisi, khususnya dalam memberikan masukan dan kontribusi terhadap perumusan kebijakan dari perspektif kolaborasi berbasis pentahelix. Ke depannya, forum yang melibatkan partisipasi aktor pentahelix lainnya sangat penting sebagai bagian dari strategi pembangunan nasional yang berbasis pada sains, kolaborasi, dan prinsip keberlanjutan.

Abstract

The community of Kelurahan Dalam Bugis, Pontianak City, preserves its ancestral heritage by using Zingiberaceae plants as a source of medicine. Various types of Zingiberaceae plants are used as traditional medicinal ingredients. The purpose of this study is to examine local wisdom and the diversity of Zingiberaceae plants that are useful as conventional medicine by the people of Kelurahan Dalam Bugis, Pontianak City. The method applied is purposive sampling. Information on the use of Zingiberaceae as medicinal ingredients was obtained from 35 informants. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation. There are 9 types of plants from the Zingiberaceae family that are useful as medicinal ingredients in treating diseases. As many as 13 types of diseases are treated using plants from the Zingiberaceae family. The people of Kelurahan Dalam Bugis Pontianak still maintain the use of Zingiberaceae plants in traditional medicine because they are inexpensive and effective in treating diseases.

Abstract

The local communities in the interior of Kalimantan have long utilized plants from the Zingiberaceae family as traditional medicinal ingredients, especially for postpartum care. Many species of Zingiberaceae are retained in postnatal care because they are effective in alleviating and healing ailments. This study aims to review the potential diversity of Zingiberaceae species used in traditional medicine after childbirth and to identify their slot deposit 5000 chemical compound content. The method used is a literature review with an analysis of scientific literature from the past 10 years discussing the utilization of Zingiberaceae by the community in Kalimantan in managing mothers after childbirth. The results show that there are ten species and four genera of Zingiberaceae that are frequently used, namely Alpinia, Kaempferia, Curcuma, and Zingiber. The plant organ that is utilized is the rhizome, processed in various ways such as boiling, pounding, or turning into powder before being consumed or applied to the body. The compound content in Zingiberaceae includes curcumin, gingerol, and shogaol, which have immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant activities, playing a role in postpartum treatment for women. This research emphasizes that Zingiberaceae plays an important role in traditional postnatal treatment, and further studies are needed to support the preservation of local knowledge, as well as conservation and sustainable utilization.
