Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil PISA 2018 Indonesia memiliki hasil dibawah rata-rata yang menunjukan rendahnya literasi sains dan hasil belajar, sehingga pada masa pandemi dibutuhkan pengembangan inovasi pembelajaran yang dapat menunjang kebutuhan proses belajar siswa secara online, salah satunya adalah penggunaan pendekatan scientific berbantuan strategi writing to learn. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan scientific berbantuan strategi writing to learn terhadap kemampuan literasi sains dan hasil belajar siswa. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian kuantitatif. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pretest-postest control group design, dengan kelas XI MIPA 5 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XI MIPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan literasi sains dan hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol  dengan hasil rata-rata posttest kelas kontrol sebesar 76,11 sedangkan rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 82,60 dan hasil ensiklopedia pada kelas kontrol sebesar 78,00 sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 81,08. Dampak penggunaan pendekatan scientific berbantuan strategi writing to learn dengan menggunakan effect size Cohen’s d sebesar 0,36 pada kemampuan literasi sains dan 0,23 pada hasil belajar yang memiliki kategori sedang. Hasil angket sikap peserta didik kelas eksperimen menujukan kategori baik. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah penggunaan pendekatan scientific berbantuan strategi writing to learn berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan literasi sains dan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

The development of Science and Technology became one of the signs of the beginning the Era of Openness, especially in the field of information. This era of openness will affect various aspects of life one of them is education. Currently, education in Indonesia experienced a serious crisis situation, especially a concern for the environment is low. Appropriate environmental science learning efforts need to be done so that awareness of environmental improvement. This study aims to inform the environment learning with Garden-Based Learning (GBL) through Eco-school to establish awareness and environmental conservation skills on students. The research method used a qualitative approach and included research type of literature study which analyzed descriptively. The result of the research showed that the application of learning of GBL through Eco-school in extracurricular activities in students is able to establish environmental awareness and conservation skills through knowledge, skill, attitude and behaviour as well towards the environment so that learning is more active, effective and meaningful.

Abstract

In the cultivation of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), there are still some obstacles or obstacles that farmers complain about, one of which is the high price of commercial feed, because one of the most important factors in cultivation is quality feed. Fish growth will increase if the feed given can be digested properly by fish so that the energy obtained by fish from feed can be utilized optimally. Therefore, with the background of some of the problems above, it is necessary to add natural feed in tilapia cultivation, with a nutritional composition that is in accordance with the needs of fish, this study was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of adding natural feed in the form of turmeric extract as an immunostimulant that can trigger the growth of tilapia, as well as to determine the effect of differences in the concentration of turmeric extract added to each tilapia feed on the growth rate (weight and body length) of tilapia. This research was conducted through an experimental method, where the treatment given was in the form of adding turmeric extract with different concentrations to the artificial feed of tilapia. The results of this study proved that the higher the dose of turmeric extract added to the feed, the higher the growth rate of body length and weight of the tilapia. This is due to the balance of protein, and has the main content in the rhizome, namely essential oils and curcumin which can increase appetite, and also acts as an antioxidant.

Abstract

Growth is the process of increasing the number of cell protoplasm in an organism accompanied by an increase in size, weight and number of cells that cannot return to their previous state. One of the factors that influence the growth of koi carp is feed. Good feed is feed that can meet the nutritional needs of the koi carp. The addition of tapioca flour in the feed formula, which contains artificial feed, tapioca flour, and water in the koi carp feed, is one of the proper steps because of the increase in carbohydrate doses that can support the growth of the koi carp. This study aims to determine the benefits of adding tapioca flour to the artificial feed of the koi carp (Cyprinus rubrofuscus) and to determine the effect and the most appropriate dose of adding tapioca flour to the artificial diet of the koi carp (Cyprinus rubrofuscus). The research method used is a quantitative research method accompanied by direct observation and analysis of research data, which is also accompanied by a literature study method from previous studies to support the findings in the research results. The results showed that  the more feed formula was given, the faster the growth of the koi carp produced. But must be accompanied by the right dose, which is 8 grams of feed formula once a day. While the benefits of adding tapioca flour in carp feed are increasing carp production, prolonging goldfish life expectancy, increasing efficiency and nutritional content in carp feed, increasing carp appetite accompanied by increased growth. Keywords: Goldfish Koi, Growth, Feed, Carbohydrates, Tapioca Starch

Abstract

Wisata edukasi merupakan salah satu jenis wisata yang biasanya dikunjungi oleh para wisatawan untuk tujuan pembelajaran. Salah satu objek wisata edukasi yaitu objek wisata Plangon yang berlokasi di Kelurahan Babakan Kecamatan Sumber Kabupaten Cirebon. Di objek wisata Plangon tersebut terdapat salah satu spesies hewan dari kelas Mamalia, ordo Primata dan famili Cercopithecidae yaitu Macaca fascicularis atau monyet ekor panjang, dengan karakteristik khususnya yaitu memiliki ekor yang panjang dan sebagian besar tubuhnya ditutupi oleh rambut berwarna abu-abu hingga cokelat keabuan. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan monyet ekor panjang (Macaca fascicularis) sebagai wisata edukasi di Kelurahan Babakan, Kecamatan Sumber, Kabupaten Cirebon. Metode penelitian adalah metode kualitatif dan data hasil penelitian disajikan secara deskriptif, penelitian dilakukan dengan mengobservasi langsung objek wisata Plangon dan melalui wawancara dengan narasumber yaitu juru kunci Plangon untuk mendapatkan data primer dan data sekunder didapatkan melalui proses studi literatur dengan mencari referensi yang relevan dari berbagai macam artikel atau jurnal terkait hal tersebut. Populasi monyet ekor panjang (Macaca fascicularis) di kawasan objek wisata Plangon cukup banyak sehingga berpotensi untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai wisata edukasi, dengan adanya pemanfaatan spesies ini para pengunjung akan mempelajari mengenai perilaku, karakteristik serta aktivitas yang dilakukan oleh spesies tersebut di kawasan objek wisata Plangon. Selain itu adanya pemanfaatan spesies ini sebagai wisata edukasi juga dapat berperan dalam penelitian di bidang ekologi maupun zoologi.

Abstract

The plantain squirrel (Callosciurus notatus) is a rodent of the family Sciuridae. The population of plantain squirrels in Indonesia has decreased every year. The 2019 Checklist of the Mammals of Indonesia reports that the plantain squirrel is in a low concentration status; thus, accelerated efforts in wildlife conservation, including integrating technology with conservation efforts, are necessary. This study aims to determine the morphological characteristic of the plantain squirrel spermatozoa. This research consisted of several stages: anesthesia of animal samples, surgery, a maceration method, observation of the spermatozoa morphology using William's staining, and morphometry of sperm using ImageJ 1.46r software. The results show that the plantain squirrel sperm has a slightly flat head shape, falciform with one apical hook, and a not too long tail. The average sperm head length is 1.87 ± 0.30 µm, the average sperm tail length is 5.48 ± 0.95 µm.

Abstract

AbstrakKota Kuningan yang terletak di kaki timur Gunung Ciremai ini memang identik dengan hewan Kuda, yang hingga kini dijadikan sebagai ikon dan lambang Pemerintah Kabupaten Kuningan. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hal apa saja yang melatarbelakangi penggunaan patung kuda sebagai Ikon Kota Kuningan serta untuk mengetahui makna dan filosofi adagium mengenai kuda yang konon melambangkan masyarakat Kuningan. Penulis mencoba melakukan suatu riset yang dikemas dalam suatu studi etnozoologi. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui observasi, wawancara, serta diperkuat dengan studi literatur. Kemudian, hasil yang didapatkan dilanjutkan dengan analisis data secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peresmian patung kuda sebagai ikon kota kuningan dilatarbelakangi oleh aksi heroik Kuda bersejarah dengan nama si Windu dan Sang Empunya yakni Pengeran Adipati Ewangga yang sangat berperan dalam sejarah berdirinya kota ini. Pengkajian dari perspektif etnozoologi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan rasa kesadaran masyarakat Kuningan akan pentingnya menghargai jasa para pahlawan tanah airnya, lebih dari itu, agar meningkatkan solidaritas masyarakat untuk tetap melestarikan Kuda (Equus caballus) di Kabupaten Kuningan dengan manajemen pemeliharaan yang baik, sebab hingga kini populasinya kian menurun. Kata kunciEtnozoologi, Sejarah, Ikon Kota, Equus caballus AbstractKuningan, which is located at the eastern foot of Mount Ciremai, is indeed synonymous with horses. So far, the horse has been used as an icon and symbol of the Kuningan Regency Government. Therefore, this study aims to find out behind the use of the horse statue as an icon of Kuningan. Besides, this study aims to find out the meaning and adage philosophy about the horse as a symbol of the Kuningan community. The author tried to do research that is packaged in an ethnozoological study. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach through observation, interviews and strengthened by literature studies. Then, the results obtained were continued with descriptive data analysis. The results showed that the horse statue as an icon was inspired by the heroic action of the historic horse "Windu" and its owner. The owner is Pangeran Adipati Ewangga, who played a crucial role in the founding of this city. This study from an ethnozoological perspective expected to increase the Kuningan Community's awareness about the importance of appreciating the services of the heroes of their homeland. Abstract

The currently used bleaching materials in skeletal preservation are hydrogen and carbamide peroxide materials with specific concentrations and techniques that impact environmental sustainability. This research describes a simple and eco-friendly technique for preserving skeletons. This research used a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation and documentation. The collected data were analyzed descriptively. The results show that natural extracts, such as lemon combined with baking soda and commercial bleaching cloth agent, can bleach the skull and bone to preserve the skeleton. The commercial bleaching cloth agent is more capable of bleaching animal skulls and bones to preserve skeletons than natural extracts combined with baking soda do; however, the result is more brittle skeletons. Although specimens in lemon extract combined with baking soda solution more slowly clean and bleach skeleton than commercial bleaching solution, skeletal animals have bond strength and environment-friendly processes. This study recommends that an eco-friendly bleaching agent for skeletal preservation should be applied because it can cope with biological practices about osteology and other science subjects.
