Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the strategies that are used by English students of Batanghari University in translating texts from English to Indonesian language. The method of this research is qualitative. The sample is taken from the third semester students of English Education of Batanghari University which consists of two classes; one class consists of 27 students and anothe one consists of 33 students. The instrument of this research is a translation test. In analying the data, translation theory proposed by Newmark is used. The findings of this research show that there are only four methods used by the students in translating the text. They are word-for-word translation, literal translation, free translation, and communicative translation. Moreover, the most dominant method used by the students are literal translation method. The second dominant method is word-for-word translation. Meanwhile, the third and fourth translation method applied by the students are free translation and communicative translation. From the result of the analysis, it is also shown that there are four methods which did not applied by the students in translating the text. They are faithful translation, semantic translation, adaptation translation, and idiomatic translation method. Here, the students used more than one method to translate the narrative text. Based on the data, literal translation method is the most dominant method used by the students. It happened because the students just translate the words by its literal meaning and they tried to achieve the nearest equivalence meaning in the target language.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk peningkatkan dan perbaikan praktek pembelajaran yang seharusnya dilakukan oleh guru.Khalayak sasaran dalam pengabdian ini adalah guru Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan khususnya SMK Negeri 13 kabupaten Sarolangun. Metode pelaksanaan adalah metode ceramah, diskusi, tanya jawab, wawancara dan pelatihan. Metode penyampaian informasi dilakukan dengan ceramah umum, diskusi dan tanya jawab kepada seluruh peserta. Metode wawancara digunakan untuk menanyakan sejauh mana guru memahami materi dari ceramah umum yang telah disampaikan pengabdi. Metode pelatihan diterapkan untuk melatih guru dalam melaksanakan Lesson Study di kelas dan menyusun PTK. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam pengabdian ini adalah seluruh guru di SMK Negeri 13 Kabupaten Sarolangun telah mampu memahami materi tentang pengertian dan karakteristik Lesson Study dan PTK, tujuan dan kemanfaatan Lesson Study dan PTK, bentuk-bentuk PTK, membuat rancangan PTK, dan penerapan Lesson Study dan PTK. Manfaat bagi pimpinan sekolah untuk menambah koleksi sekolah berupa laporan PTK, untuk menambah angka kredit saat sekolah ada akreditasi dan untuk mengembangkan kurikulum.Abstract: Community service is aimed at improving teachers’ learning practices. The subject of this community service is the teacher of SMK Negeri 13 Sarolangun. The methods used are lecture, discussion, question and answer, interviews and training. The methods of delivering materials are public lecture, discussion and question and answer to all participants. The interview method is used to ask how far the teacher understands the material from the public lecture that has been delivered by the devotees. Training methods are applied to train teachers in developing Lesson Study and classroom action research (CAR). The results obtained in this devotion are all teachers have been able to understand material about the definition and characteristics, purpose and expediency, forms, make the design, and can apply of  Lesson Study and Action Research. For school leaders to add a collection of schools of Action Research reports, to increase the credit score accreditation and to develop curriculum.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study was to find out whether there is an influence between: 1) the professionalism of teacher performance on the quality of online learning; 2) teacher's digital literacy skills on the quality of online learning; and 3) professionalism of teacher performance and teacher digital literacy skills on the quality of online learning. This research is a quantitative research using Ex Po Facto research approach. The population in this study were 46 people. Sampling technique with saturated samples. The results showed that 1) there was an effect of X1 on Y with tcount > ttable (3.873 > 2.01669); 2) there is an effect of X2 on Y obtained tcount > ttable (2.480 > 2.01669); 3) there is a simultaneous effect, X1 and X2 on Y based on data analysis obtained Fcount > Ftable (16.506 > 3.214) and the coefficient of determination (R Square) is 0.434 which means that the quality of online learning is influenced by the professionalism of teacher performance and the teacher's digital literacy ability of 43.4%. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of teacher performance professionalism and teacher digital literacy skills on the quality of online learning in Jambi Province.Keywords: Professionalism, Digital Literacy, Learning Quality.ABSTRAK: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh antara: 1) profesionalisme kinerja guru terhadap kualitas pembelajaran daring; 2) kemampuan literasi digital guru terhadap kualitas pembelajaran daring; dan 3) profesionalisme kinerja guru dan kemampuan literasi digital guru terhadap kualitas pembelajaran daring. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian Ex Po Facto. Populasi pada penelitian ini sebanyak 46 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan sampel jenuh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) terdapat pengaruh X1 terhadap Y dengan thitung > ttabel (3,873 > 2,01669); 2) terdapat pengaruh X2 terhadap Y diperoleh thitung > ttabel (2,480 > 2,01669); 3) terdapat pengaruh secara simultan, X1 dan X2 terhadap Y berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh Fhitung > Ftabel (16,506 >3,214) dan koefisien determinasi (R Square) sebesar 0,434 yang berarti bahwa kualitas pembelajaran daring dipengaruhi oleh profesionalisme kinerja guru dan kemampuan literasi digital guru sebesar 43,4%. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa adanya pengaruh profesionalisme kinerja guru dan kemampuan literasi digital guru terhadap kualitas pembelajaran daring di Provinsi Jambi.Kata kunci: Profesionalisme, Literasi Digital, Kualitas Pembelajaran.
