Abstract

This study investigated the effects of Black cincau (Mesona palustris BL) effervescent powder (BCEP) on systolic blood pressure and malondialdehyde concentration in hypertensive rats. BCEP were orally administered to hypertensive rats for 4 weeks, and antihypertensive effects were determined. Rats were given 630 mg/kg, 1.260 mg/kg and 1.890 mg/kg BCEP on dose group 1, 2, 3 respectively. These groups were  compared with a negative control group, hypertensive control group and Captopril control group. These results showed that systolic blood pressure and MDA concentrations of rats dosed with BCEP were significantly different (α=0,01) to those of control rats. Rats dose third group with of 1.260 mg/kg showed the highest percentage of lowering blood pressure. The rat dose third group had highest percentage decreased in systolic blood pressure (43,97%) and in MDA concentration (68,77%).Key words : Antihypertensive; Black Cincau (Mesona palustris BL) Effervescent Powder; Malondialdehyde

Abstract

Abstract The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia was officially declared over when the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo issued Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia (Keppres) Number 17 of 2023 concerning Determining the End of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic Status in Indonesia. During the Covid-19 pandemic, many changes occurred in the social order in society, especially in relation to the use of technology and its implementation. Especially in terms of maintaining health and cleanliness. The use of touchless faucets is increasingly seen in malls and crowded places. The Community Service Team, Faculty of Engineering, Jakarta State University, in collaboration with Pantai Modest Village, Muara Gembong District, Bekasi, West Java, held counseling on the use of touchless automatic faucets in clean water installations with the aim that the public understands the form, workings and functions of a touchless automatic faucet for use in clean water installations in the existing Pantai Mediterania Village but still using ordinary water faucets. Counseling was carried out at the Simple Beach Village Office by inviting local residents. The results of the counseling show that many people initially did not know the importance of cleanliness when using clean water facilities that are used in general. There are also many people who don't or don't know about automatic faucets. After participating in the counseling, the results showed that the community became aware of the importance of maintaining cleanliness in public clean water installation facilities and the community became aware of the form, workings and functions of touchless automatic faucets. Abstract

Abstract Smartphone use by children has become an increasing phenomenon along with technological advances. On the one hand, smartphones can be an effective educational tool, facilitating access to information, learning applications, and improving digital skills. However, on the other hand, excessive use can cause negative impacts such as impaired concentration, decreased physical activity, limited social interaction, and the risk of exposure to inappropriate content. In addition, long-term screen exposure is associated with health problems such as sleep disorders and eye fatigue. Therefore, the role of parents and educators is very important in limiting and supervising smartphone use, and ensuring that its use is carried out wisely and according to the child's developmental needs. As a partner in the Community Service program with the Faculty of Engineering, UNJ, Muara Gembong is one of the sub-districts with a fairly large child population, which is around 30% of the total population. Therefore, the Community Service Team provided training on the use of Family Link as a tool so that parents can supervise and control smartphone use in children. After being given training, participants' knowledge regarding the positive and negative impacts of cellphone use and knowledge regarding applications to supervise smartphone use in children increased from 57.14% to 85.71%.
