Abstract

This article describes the social and cultural changes in human life that are moving toward modernity. Today's social scientists seem concerned about modernization but tend to use Western industry as a reference for modern models. As Donald Eugene Smith assumed, the world has experienced "the grand process of modernization," considering secularization to be a certain and absolute modern condition. The most fundamental issue is that secularism is required to achieve modernity. As for the question, here is how the concept of modernization appears in the view of Samuel P. Huntington. Huntington is one of the American political experts who contributed to modernization studies. According to Huntington, modernization is a process of change that cannot be avoided. This is due to the growing development of science and technology, which also influences people's mindsets, attitudes, and values in various aspects of life. There are three reactions that arise from modernization theory, namely, first, rejecting both modernization and westernization, second, accepting both, and third, accepting the first and rejecting the second. From these three reactions, Huntington tends to see that modernization does not mean westernization. Because non-Western societies that are changing seem to be increasingly maintaining their own culture, even as they adopt Western values, institutions, and practices, without abandoning their own culture. Abstrak Artikel ini menjelaskan perubahan-perubahan sosial dan budaya kehidupan manusia yang bergerak menuju modern. Ilmuan sosial dewasa ini tampak terlihat prihatin terhadap modernisasi, tetapi cenderung menggunakan industri Barat sebagai acuan model modern. Sebagaimana asumsi Donald Eugene Smith, dunia telah mengalami The Grand Process of Modernization, menganggap sekularisasi pasti terjadi dan mutlak sebagai sarat modern. Masalah yang paling pokok, adanya keharusan bersikap sekuler untuk mencapai modernitas. Adapun yang menjadi pertanyaan di sini adalah bagaimana konsep modernisasi dalam pandangan Samuel P. Huntington. Menurut Huntington, modernisasi adalah sebuah proses perubahan yang tidak dapat terelakkan. Hal ini terjadi akibat semakin berkembangnya ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang turut mempengaruhi pola pikir, sikap, nilai-nilai perilaku masyarakat dalam berbagai sisi kehidupan. Ada tiga reaksi yang muncul dari teori modernisasi, yaitu; pertama. menolak modernisasi maupun westernisasi, kedua, menerima keduanya, ketiga, menerima yang pertama dan menolak yang kedua. Dari ketiga reaksi ini, Huntington cenderung memandang modernisasi tidak berarti westernisasi. Karena, masyarakat-masyarakat non-Barat yang sedang berubah tampak semakin mempertahankan budaya sendiri, sekalipun mengadopsi nilai-nilai, institusi-institusi dan praktik-praktik Barat tetapi tidak meninggalkan kebudayaan sendiri.

Abstract

PurposeThis article aimed to know how a Modern Egyptian writer, Taufiq al-Hakim, enlightened his readers to believe Allah's existence and could feel His presence more closely. MethodAs qualitative research, this article relied on verbal data in the form of sentences or paragraphs available in the short story. In collecting the data, the authors read carefully Arinillah, Taufiq al-Hakim’s short story; and made some notes on sentences or paragraphs considered to indicate ways of enlightening Allah’s existence. The data were analyzed qualitatively using Sufism literature theories to identify Taufiq al-Hakim’s ideas of Allah’s existences and his ways of educating the readers to believe in Allah. Results/FindingsTaufiq al-Hakim's ways of educating his readers to believe in Allah’s existence through the storyline beginning with curiosity and ending with regret. He did not curb the readers’ curiosity to know Allah's existence, but left them to play in the adventure of Sufistic spiritual imagination. At the end of the story, they regretted because they with their mind were not able to identify the existence of Allah, the greatest. ConclusionThe article concluded that Arinillah storyline was Taufiq al-Hakim’s way in interpreting hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW regarding prohibition to think Allah’s substance; and it was not true that he violated such a prohibition.

Abstract

The book "Darsu Al-Lughah Al-Arabiyah" is one of the books used by students to learn Arabic. This book contains various teaching materials, including the Qawaid Nahwu and reading. After making observations, researchers see that the grammar content in the reading is not in accordance with the grammar material that has been taught. Therefore, this research was conducted to identify the content of reading texts and elements that contradicted grammar material as well as to know the efforts made by the teacher to overcome this problem. This research is content analysis and data collection is done through observation, documentation, and interviews. The sample is the class II book "Darsu Al-Lughah Al-Arabiyah". The results of the study indicate that the content of the reading text in this book consists of grammar that has been learned and grammar that is not learned. Grammar has been studied totaling 77 examples, while those not studied are 144 examples The efforts made by the teacher to overcome this problem are by conducting textbook assessments, observing the material in the book, providing references to other teaching materials, providing additional material, and equip themselves with a variety of knowledge and experience and so on.

Abstract

This study explores the integration and impact of Ahlussunnah Waljamaah doctrine in the curriculum of Sekolah Raja Perempuan Ta’ayah, Malaysia. It primarily focuses on the understanding and application of Islamic faith principles among students. The methodology combines qualitative and quantitative approaches, with a sequential exploratory design. Qualitative analysis initially delineates the religious environment, followed by a quantitative survey involving 67 students aged 16-17 years. The curriculum, incorporating religious and Arabic education, emphasizes deep understanding of faith tenets and character development. Daily school activities, including Kuliah Dhuha and small-group usrah sessions, play a crucial role in instilling religious values. The survey results indicate a strong grasp of key Islamic concepts such as the nature of Allah and the Prophets, destiny, effort, and eschatology among students. While most exhibit a comprehensive understanding, a minority requires deeper insights. The study concludes that the school's approach, blending structured education and character formation, effectively fosters religious understanding and moral character aligned with Ahlussunnah Waljamaah teachings.AbstrakKajian ini mendeskripsikan tentang integrasi dan dampak ajaran Ahlussunnah Waljamaah dalam kurikulum Sekolah Raja Perempuan Ta’ayah, Malaysia. Fokus utamanya adalah pada pemahaman dan penerapan prinsip-prinsip iman Islam di kalangan siswa. Metodologi yang digunakan menggabungkan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan desain eksplorasi berurutan. Analisis kualitatif menggambarkan lingkungan keagamaan sekolah, diikuti survei kuantitatif yang melibatkan 67 siswa berusia 16-17 tahun. Kurikulum, yang memadukan pendidikan agama dan Bahasa Arab, menekankan pada pemahaman mendalam tentang ajaran iman dan pengembangan karakter. Kegiatan sehari-hari sekolah, termasuk Kuliah Dhuha dan sesi usrah kelompok kecil, berperan penting dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai agama. Hasil survei menunjukkan pemahaman yang kuat tentang konsep-konsep Islam inti seperti sifat Allah dan Rasul, takdir, usaha, dan eskatologi di antara siswa. Meskipun sebagian besar menunjukkan pemahaman yang komprehensif, sebagian kecil masih membutuhkan wawasan yang lebih dalam. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan sekolah, yang menggabungkan pendidikan terstruktur dan pembentukan karakter, efektif dalam menumbuhkan pemahaman agama dan karakter moral yang selaras dengan ajaran Ahlussunnah Waljamaah.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify how to develop the learning process using the wadhifah al-majmu'ah method based on a communicative approach and cooperative learning methods in teaching reading and to identify the effectiveness of the wadhifah al-majmu'ah method to improve students' reading skills at MTsN 1 Aceh Barat and to identify teacher and student activities using the developed wadhifah al-majmu'ah method. The research method used in this research is the research and development method. The results of this research are the development of wadhifah al-majmu'ah method by observing the need and the problem and by interviewing experts, this method has ten steps in its process. The use of wadhifah al-majmu'ah method is effective in improving students’ ability to reading skills. The average value of the post-test is greater than the pre-test (82.44> 54.34), the sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 which is smaller than the significance level of 0.05, indicates that (Ha) is acceptable and (Ho) is returned. And very good result, This is proved by the direct observation of teacher activities by 90 % and student activities by 85 % indicating that they are between 81-100% In the very good category. The use of wadhifah al-majmu'ah method is effective in improving student’s ability to reading skills.

Abstract

Learning listening skills still leaves many problems. Among them are problems related to students' limbs, thinking, the application of learning methods, media, teacher and so on. Learning process of listening at Ruhul Islam Anak Bangsa Islamic Boarding School tends to be passive where the teacher provides istima' material to students through a laptop and loudspeaker and the teacher gives students questions directly without explaining the previous material and providing opportunities for students to discuss and ask things that are not understood. In addition, the listening learning process tends to be boring and uninteresting. Therefore, researchers developed listening skills learning with the integrative listening method to improve students' listening skills. The purpose of this study was to find out how to develop and effectiveness of the developing listening skills learning using the integrative listening method and to find out students' responses to the development of listening skills learning with the integrative listening method. The method used in this research is a research and development method. The results show that learning listening skills using the integrative listening method developed using the Borg and Gall model. Teaching listening skills with the integrative listening method is effective to increasing students' listening skills. Student responses to learning listening skills using the integrative listening method is very good with the positive answer of 92.67%.
