Abstract

This research was conducted to describe (1) forms of expression of insult, (2) the function of expression, (3) the context of the use of expression of verbal abuse in the village of Koto Laweh Subdistrict Tanjuang Baru Tanah Datar District. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive method. The subject of this study is a sentence or speech that contains the expression of insults used by the community in the Village Koto Laweh Tanjuang Baru District Tanah Datar. The data taken are analyzed by the following steps: (1) transcribing existing data from various sources into written language, ie from recorded data, interviews, and observations, (2) classifying forms of insults by function and context, (3) ) analyzing the data according to the research objectives, (4) formulating the research findings. There are three findings in this study. First, based on the form, the expression of insults in the verbal violence used by the community in Koto Laweh Village Tanjuang Baru Sub District can be classified into two types (a) expressions of word-shaped, (b) phrase-shaped expressions. Secondly, based on the phrase function of acquired speech in the village of Koto Laweh, there are 7 functions of expression, (1) as a means of expressing resentment, (2) expressing strong and extreme emotions, (3) as joke, means of expressing social intimacy, (5) insulting, (6) expressing frustration and irritation, (7) means of expression of amazement. Third, on the basis of forms of expression it is used in all contexts with reference to four speech situations, ie (a) higher speakers of the position and the relationship is familiar, (b) the speaker is higher in rank and the relationship is not familiar, (c) the speaker is more low his position and the relationship is familiar, (d) the speaker is inferior to his position and the relationship is not familiar.Keywords: form, function, context, invective

Abstract

This study aims to (a) describe the verb form of foot activity in Minangkabau language, (b) describe the process of derivative verbs of foot activity in Minangkabau language, (c) describe the type of verb of foot activity in Minangkabau language. This research is qualitative research and using descriptive analysis method. Methods and techniques of data collection using method refer with noted and record techniques, then used the skill methold wilh advanced skill technique. Result of this study, First, the verb form of foot activity in Minangkabau language in Padang City consists of two forms namely the original form, and the derived form. The derived verbs are grouped again into (a) mandatory affixed base verbs, (b) basic affix verbs grouped arbitrarily, (c) bound affixed verbs, (d) recurring verbs, and (e) compound verbs. Second, the process of derivative verbs of foot activity in Minangkabau language in Padang City consists of four (1) transpositions, (2) affixation, (3) reduplication, and (4) compounding. Third, the type of verb foot activity in the Minangkabau language in Padang City is divided basid on the point of view (1) the number of nouning nouns, (2) the relation of verb with the accompanying are grouped into two, namely intransitive verbs, and transitive verbs. The types of transitive verbs are grouped into three, namely (1) monotransitive verbs, (2) bitransitive verbs, and (3) ditransitive verbs. Based on the viewpoint of the relationship of verbs with nouns, grouped into four, namely (1) active verbs, (2) passive verbs, (3) anti-verbs, and (4) anti-passive verbs.Based on the viewpoint of the number of nouns that accompany. Based on the viewpoint of the interaction between the auxiliary nouns are divided into two, namely (1)reciprocal verbs and (2) non-resolved verbs.Keywords: verb, foot activity, Minangkabau language

Abstract

This study was conducted to describe the performance of the use of EBI on the status of Facebook mayor in West Sumatera. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The data research in the form of writings written by some mayors in West Sumatera through Facebook account. In this research, author focuses some writings from the Mayor of Padang, the Mayor of Padang Panjang, the Mayor of Payakumbuh, and the Mayor of Solok. Data collection is using documentation method, that is: (1) printscreened writings the Mayor of Padang (period 2016—2017), the Mayor of Padang Panjang (period 2016—2017), the Mayor of Payakumbuh (period 2016—2017), and the Mayor of Solok (period 2015—2016); (2) transcribes all the Facebook posts; and (3) observe and determine the data that includes the performance of EBI. The exanubatuib of data validation in this research uses a detailed description technique. Data are analyzed with this following steps. (1) identify and transcribe the data, (2) classify, (3) calculate, (4) interpret the data, and (5) conclude the data. The conclusion of this study is the performance of Indonesian in terms of use of EBI on Facebook mayor in West Sumatra is very low (16.4%) of 499 speeches. The biggest mistake is in the use of capital letters and the smallest is in the use of quotation mark one.Keywords: EBI, language error, spelling, mayor, Facebook

Abstract

The purpose of study were to  describe process of formation of reciprocal verbs and the meaning of reciprocal verbs in Minangkabau language in the Kecamatan Patamuan Kabuapten Padang Pariaman. This research data in the form of words, phrases, and from oral sources in the form of public speech in Kecamatan Patamuan Kabupten Padang Pariaman. The findings of this research are: First, the process of forming a reciprocal verb consists of, (1) the formation pattern of affixation ie, the prefix of the base form (v / n / a), the prefix ba- + the basic form + the suffix -an, the baka- the basic form (v / n / a), the basic shape prefix (n), the basi- morpheme + the basic form (v), and the standard- (basic) base morpheme (v), (2) the reduplication forming pattern, (v) + prefix of maN- + the basic form (v), the basic shape prefix (v / n / a) + suffix -an, and (3) the basic shape reduplication + the suffix -an, and (3) the pattern formation of the composition of the basic form (n) + adjectives. Abstract

This study aims to describe the performance of the use of communication politeness in terms of the use of the principle of language politeness by the Governor and Vice Governor of West Sumatra in Facebook. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The data in this study are writings written by the Governor and Vice Governor of West Sumatra. Data were collected in the following manner, (1) to capture the screen of the writings of the Governor and Deputy Governor of West Sumatra (period 2016-2021) on Facebook account; (2) transcribes the entire Facebook post; and (3) to observe and determine data that includes the performance of Indonesian politeness. The examination of data validation in this study uses a detailed description technique. After the data collected, then analyzed with the following steps, (1) identifying and transcribing data, (2) classifying, (3) calculating, (4) interpreting data, and (5) summing up data. The conclusion of this study is the performance of Indonesian politeness in the writings in the Governor and Vice Governor of West Sumatra very well. This statement is evidenced by the corresponding speech language utterance of 519 sentences (98%) and non-corresponding nine sentences (2%). Conformity of the use of the principle of communication politeness that many found is the maxim of conclusions and incompatibility of the use of the principle of communication civility that many found is the maxim of praise and humility.Keywords: politeness, governor and deputy governor, facebook

Abstract

This study was conducted to describe the shape and use of kinship and unkinship greeting words in the language Minangkabau villagers of Kampung Baru.The use of the word greeting kinship consists of greeting based on the nuclear family and the extended family based. Greetings unkinship include common greeting, occupation, religion, and customs. The research is a qualitative research with descriptive methods. The informants are two women and one man.Background this study is the village of Kampung Baru Pariaman Tengah District Pariaman Downtown. The instrument of this study is the researchers themselves to use a tape recorder, recording sheet, and stationery. The data collection method used in this study conversation with fishing techniques. Data validation study using triangulation techniques. Analyzing data of this research through the following steps: (1) a data inventory phase; (2) the stage of data classification; (3) the stage of data description. The results of this study as follows: found (1) 82 shapes and the use of the word greeting kinship, which consists of 22 forms of the word greeting kinship based on the nuclear family, 60 shapes and the use of the word greeting kinship based on the extended family. (2) 41 shapes and the use of the word greeting unkinship, namely, 11 shapes and the use of the word common greeting, 13 shapes and the use of the word greeting positions, 12 shapes and the use of the word religious greeting, five shapes and using the customary greeting. Implications of the use of the word greeting Minangkabau language in terms of kinship and unkinship greeting word still used in accordance with the politeness prevailing in society the village of Kampung Baru.Keywords: greeting words, kinship, unkinship, implication, languange    Minangkabau.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research to describe violations of the principles of linguistic politeness regent in West Sumatera in the social media. This study uses qualitative research in descriptive form. The data of this research was social media regent in West Sumatera Barat, especially Facebook. The steps used in the form of screenshoting, transcribing, observing, and clasificating the data include in the violation of linguistic politeness. The analysis of data is done through classifying data, analyzing data, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions. The result of data analysis show that from 450 sentence of regent in West Sumatera, found the use principle of linguistic politeness as 439 sentences and who violated as 11 sentences. Based on the results of the data can be concluded the speech regent in West Sumatera in social media categorized polite.Keywords: linguistic politeness, regent, social media

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the form, context and function of invective in the language of Minangkabau in Terminal Aua Kuniang Bukittinggi. The data of study is the expressions used invective language of Minangkabau society in Terminal Aua Kuniang Bukittinggi district. The data source of this research is the speech of informants in Terminal Aua Kuniang South Bukittinggi district. The finding of study is eksplained three things, namely 1) the form of invective, 2) the context of using invective expression, and 3) the functions of using invective expressions. The form of invective consists of word and phrases. Function invective expression consists of: (1) express their resentment, (2) strong angerand extreme, (3) as comedy, (4) a means of expressing in timacy in relationships, (5) contempt, (6) expressed frustration and annoyance, and (7) as a means of disclosure as tonishment.Keywords: form, context, function, invective, Minangkabau language

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe: (1) the form of adjectives and (2) the level (level) adjectives in the ad magazine Gogirl !. This research type is qualitative research by using descriptive method. The data of this research are sentences containing the element of adjective in the advertisement of Gogirl! Magazine. The source of this research data is Gogirl magazine! as many as 13 magazines. Data were collected by: (1) observing the data and (2) identifying the data. Data analysis is done by: (1) classifying data, (2) analyzing and interpreting data based on the theory used and (3) summarizing the data. Based on the data analysis found two research results. First, we find two forms of adjectives in Gogirl! Magazine ads, namely (1) basic adjectives and (2) derived adjectives, ie (a) baffled adjectives consisting of prefixes and suffixes, (b) repeated reduplication (dwilingga), (c) multiple adjectives, combination of two free morphemes, and (d) class displacement injections in the form of deverbalization adjectives. Second, there are four levels of adjectives, namely (1) positive level, marked with tipis, tinggi, bagus, pas; (2) the comparative level, characterized by a lebih mulus, lebih cerah, lebih aman, lebih tebal; (3) superlative level, marked terkecil, terbaru, terdekat, paling sehat; and (4) excessive levels, marked by the word ketagihan, keharuman mewah, super lengkap, maksimal.Keywords: adjectives, forms, levels, advertisement.

Abstract

This article was written based on (a) to describe the type of directive speech acts, (b) the strategy told the directive speech act, (c) the context of the use of directive speech acts, and (d) the effect of the use of linguistic politeness strategies recalled toin the novelPukat created by Tere-Liye.The data of this study is the speech acts of the figures contained in the novel Pukat created by Tere-Liye.The data source of this research is the novelPukat created by Tere-Liye.Data collected by reading and noting directive speech acts contained therein. Data were analyzed with the following steps: (1) identify the data and classifies data based on type, recalled strategy, context, and tells of the effects of linguistic politeness strategies in the directive speech act, (2) connecting the data with the data of the other, (3 ) conducted a study of data inference.The findings of this study are as follows. First, there are 5 types of directive speech acts, that is telling, asking, advising, challenging, and suggest. Second, there are 3 strategies recalled, that tells directly without further ado, instantly recalled with niceties positive politeness, recalled instantly with niceties negative politeness. Third, the strategy of direct recalled without further ado tends to be used in the context of the directive speech act hearer smaller, intimate, and speech do both. Fourth, the use of recalled strategy directly without further ado hearer in the context of smaller, intimate, and the speech made ​​two decent effect.
