Abstract

ABSTRACTTalas banana (Musa paradisiaca var. sapientum L.) has a high economic value. However, because of slowly breeding, a quick way of propagation: i.e. in vitro is required.Peatlands inSouth Kalimantan are quite large and has potential to be used for planting area of Talas banana. The acclimatization of seedlings planted on the peatsrequires more fertilizers, considering the low nutrient content of the peats. This study aims to determine the chicken manure and nitrogen-phosphor-potassium (NPK) fertilizer on the growth of Talasbanana acclimatized in peatlands. This study applied a randomized block design (RBD) factorial: (1) the amount of chicken manure (K), namely: k1 = 5 t ha-1; k2 = 10 t ha-1; k3 = 15 t ha-1; k4 = 20 t ha-1, and (2) the amount of NPK fertilizers (P), namely: p1 = 200 kg ha-1; p2 = 250 kg ha-1; p3 = 300 kg ha-1. Therefore, 12 treatments. DITAMBAHKAN TERDAPAT 12 PERLAKUAN. All treatments have 3 replicates. The results of the experiment showed that there was no interaction between doses of chicken manure with NPK. The amount of chicken manure 5 t ha-1 resulted in the highest increment of plant height observed at 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th and 12thweek after planting, increment of stem diameter, addition of leaf number, width and length of leaves. The results of experiment also revealed that the best increment of plant height observed at 8th week after planting and stem diameter observed at 4th week after planting was obtained by 250 kg ha-1of NPK fertilizer application. Abstract

Modifying cultivation techniques potentially enhances mustard physical qualities to attain the demanded marketable value. The reputation of organic mustard propels farmers to implement modified cultivation techniques to improve harvest quality further. Planting space is one of the modifiable technical cultivations to achieve sustainable crop production. This research used soil planting media from acid dry land to optimize agricultural land use and cow manure as primary fertilizer to implement organic farming. This research objective is to figure the effect of different planting spaces on the growth and productivity of mustard greens that applied organic cultivation method. The preliminary arrangement of the research was a single-factor randomized block design. The factors were studied with different planting spaces: control without planting spaces, planting space of 20x20, 25x25, 30x30, 35x35, and 40x40 cm2. The outcomes revealed that the mean values of mustard green plant height (13.38 cm) and the number of leaves (9 strands) had significant differences to the control treatment (10 cm plant height and seven strands number of leaf). The results showed that the optimum planting space of organic mustard cultivation was 40x40 cm2 which achieved significantly higher plant height and the number of leaves than the control without planting spaces. This research's planting space of 40x40 cm2 is appropriately suitable for monocropping systems in acid dry land. It can alter plant population and distribute environmental resources for sustaining crop growth and production.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect and the best dose of trichocompost on the growth and yield of flower cabbage in ultisols. This research was conducted in July - October 2019 at the Mustika Griya Cantik complex B167, Cindai Alus Village, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province.  single factor completely randomized design, namely trichocompost fertilizer consisting of 7 levels of treatment repeated 4 times so that 28 experimental units were obtained and each experimental unit was repeated twice so that the total experiment was 56 units. The treatments used were k0: without trichocompost fertilizer, k1: trichocompost fertilizer 7.5t , k2: 15 t, k3: 22.5 t, k4: 30 t, k5: 37.5 t, k6: 45 t. The results of this study  effect  trichocompost on plant height at 28 days after planting, lots of leaves, flower emergence time, flower diameter And the best or dominant dose is more stable as seen from the results of the study, namely the dose of 37.5 t ha-1.

Abstract

Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni) is a plant that produce low-calorie natural sweeteners that can be used as a substitute for sugar cane for people with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) and obesity. Improvements to the properties of stevia in order to produce low-calorie natural sweeteners are mostly carried out in the laboratory using in vitro techniques. The media used were Murashige and Skoog with the addition of IAA dan BAP. This study aims to determine the phenotypic diversity in stevia with the addition of various concentrations and duration of immersion of the mutagen in the form of colchicine and to find the best interaction treatment used. The study was in the form of a two-factor randomized block design, the first factor being various concentrations of colchicine, namely  k0 = 0% as control, k1 = 0,03% and k2 = 0,05%. The second factor was the duration of colchicine immersion, namely  t1 = 24 hours and t2 = 48 hours. The result of this study indicate that the interaction of concentration and duration of colchicine immersion has a significant effect on the percentage of contamination with a concentration of 0,05% treatment and 24 hours immersion as the best contamination percentage treatment of 12,50%. The highest percentage of live explants was treated with a 24 hours immersion period of 8,33% and the lowest percentage was found in the 48 hour immersion treatment at 0%. The lowest percentage of browning was in the 0,05% colchicine concentration treatment at 58,33% and the highest percentage was found in the 0,03% concentration colchicine treatment at 93,75%.
