Abstract

The student activity information system is one of the digital tools needed to facilitate and bridge the needs of students in the non-academic field. This is done to support the active participation of students in achieving non-academic achievements in the campus environment. This study uses secondary data and primary data. Secondary data is obtained in the form of student data that actively participate in non-academic activities that support achievement. Primary data was collected from interviews. This is to get data about the condition of student achievement management in the Medan State Polytechnic. Data analysis techniques were carried out using qualitative methods, and then a website was launched to facilitate the need for information systems in providing services to students for academic and non-academic achievement through the student achievement center. The results showed that after designing an information system through the student achievement center website, it was known that the initial response of students to use was easy and interested in using the website to view information and follow various published information, including active roles in assisting the student directorate for student achievement—both academic and non-academic for the maximum achievement of the main performance indicator targets for Medan State Polytechnic.

Abstract

Lingkungan tempat tinggal aman adalah salah satu unsur kenyamanan yang diidamkan oleh masyarakat yang tinggal menetap di suatu wilayah. Gangguan keamanan akan menyebabkan kenyamanan menjadi menurun. Warga Desa Pekan Selesai, kecamatan selesai, kabupaten Deli Serdang merupakan salah satu desa yang menggalami gangguan keamanan tersebut. Akhir-akhin ini terjadi banyak peristiwa yang meresahkan seperti pencurian. Kejadian tersebut membuat warga merasa tidak aman. Bahkan, menimbulkan rasa saling curiga karena masing-masing merasa bahwa palaku tindak kejahatan tersebut bukan warga yang berdomisili jauh dari lingkungannya. Hal ini menyebabkan retaknya keharmonisan hubungan antarwarga. Pak Zul berinisiatif mengadakan kerjasama dengan pihak Politeknik Negeri Medan untuk menerapkan teknologi pemantau lokasi yang bisa mendeteksi objek bergerak dalam wilayah pantauan. Oleh karena itu mitra dan tim pengusul sepakat memasang pemantau yang disebut Closed Circuit Television (CCTV). CCTV dirancang untuk bisa mendeteksi objek bergerak dalam jangkauan radius 20 meter. Tujuan pemasangan CCTV di wilayah ini adalah untuk mendeteksi siapa yang selama ini melakukan tindak kejahatan yang selanjutnya akan dilakukan tindakan persuasif bukan tindakan hukum. Untuk mendeteksi objek bergerak dalam jangkauan cukup luas, CCTV dipasang  di tiga titik yang bisa mengawasi wilayah 40x40 m. CCTV tersebut menghasilkan gambar yang jernih secara real time dan terdapat juga rekamannya.

Abstract

Currently Internet of Things (IoT)-based technology is one of the new trends in the world which will most likely become a trend in the future. Simply put, IoT connects devices continuously connected to the Internet and can be controlled remotely through a user's device. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a structure where objects and people are given exclusive identities and the ability to relocate data over a network without requiring two-way touch between humans for example source to destination or human-to-computer interaction.

Abstract

Keterbatasan tenaga, waktu, dan ketiadaan alat pasca panen mendorong mitra menjual hasil panen jagungnya secara borongan kepada tengkulak. Mitra berharap bisa menjual produk jagungnya balam bentuk pipilan agar penghasilan dari usahanya meningkat lebih baik. Pengabdian ini bertujuan membantu memecahkan masalah mitra dengan merekayasa dan menghibahkan mesin pemipil jagung. Untuk menjamin keberhasilan program pengabdian ini, tim pelaksana menyusun langkah pelaksanaan. Pertama survei lokasi dilakukan. Selanjutnay adalah mendesain mesin, membangunnya, dan menguji cobanya. Pada tahap pelaksanaan di lapangan, tim Pengabdian memberikan pelatihan bagaimana mengoperasikan dan merawat mesin dengan baik. Terakhir adalah menghibah mesin pemipil jagung tersebut kepada mitra. Kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan pendapatan mitra.

Abstract

In the natural language processing field, there are several sub-fields that are very closely related to information retrieval, such as the automatic text summarization sub-field. obtained from the convolutional T5 and Seq2Seq models in summarizing text on hugging faces found features that can affect text summary such as upper- and lower-case letters which have an impact on changing the understanding of the text of the document. This study uses a combination of parameters such as layer dimensions, learning rate, batch size, and the use of Dropout to avoid model overfitting. The results can be seen by evaluating metrics using ROUGE. This study produces a value of ROUGE-1 on 4 documents that are tested which produces an average of 0.8 which is the optimal value, for ROUGE-2 on 4 documents that are tested which results in an average of 0.83 which is an optimal value while ROUGE-L on 4 documents conducted tests that produce an average of 0.8 which is the optimal value for the summary model.
