Abstract

The background of this research is the low learning outcomes of students' mathematics because the tendency of students to read and understand the material in printed books is still low and teachers still apply one-way learning interactions so that students tend to be passive. Thus, the purpose of this research is to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes by applying the Team Assisted Individualization type cooperative learning model with the help of Handouts. The type of research that will be applied is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted in 3 cycles. Data was collected by means of learning outcomes tests. The subject and place of the research was SMA Negeri 03 Bengkulu Tengah in class XI IPA K with 23 students consisting of 18 girls and 5 boys. From the results of the research and discussion, it was concluded that learning outcomes increased with the practice questions made in a structured manner and with the correction process students were able to understand the material. The percentage of complete learning outcomes classically from cycle 1 to cycle 3 is 65.21% in the first cycle, 78.260% in the second cycle and 86.04% in the third cycle, which means that in each cycle learning outcomes increase.

Abstract

Problem-solving ability is a student's ability to involve the process of a task whose solution method is not yet known in advance. To complete the solution, students need to map their knowledge. Building a flat-sided space is one of the materials whose solving method requires strategy and creative thinking and contains mathematical ideas or mathematical concepts. This study aims to examine the effect of the realistic mathematics education approach on students' problem-solving abilities in three-dimensional shapes at SMP Negeri 10 Kota Bengkulu. This type of research was a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study was all grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 10 Kota Bengkulu for the 2022–2023 academic year. The sample for this study was class VIII E, which was selected using purposive sampling. The sample consisted of 30 students. Data collection in this study was carried out using a problem-solving ability description test. The data was analyzed using a paired t-test and an N-Gain score. The results of hypothesis testing obtained a value of , and the N-Gain calculation result was . Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there was an influence of the realistic mathematics education approach on students' problem-solving abilities in three-dimensional shapes at SMP Negeri 10 Kota Bengkulu.

Abstract

One of the problems faced by the world of education is the weak learning process, so students are less active and creative, and learning tends to be boring. One learning model that can overcome this condition is PAIKEM GEMBROT (Active, Innovative, Creative, Effective, Fun, Joyful, and Weighted Learning). The initial survey showed that the knowledge of teachers of SD N 69 Kota Bengkulu was still low regarding the PAIKEM GEMBROT learning model, low understanding and motivation of students to learn in mathematics subjects, and the lack of availability of mathematics teaching aids that support the teaching and learning process so that learning is still abstract and challenging for students to understand, so that a Training Activity for Making Mathematics Teaching Aids Based on PAIKEM GEMBROT was carried out to improve Student Understanding and Motivation for Teachers of SD N 69 Kota Bengkulu. The activity method was in the form of workshops and seminars. The results of the training activities showed that the response of teachers of SD N 69 Kota Bengkulu was positive; all teachers had high motivation, and their knowledge of mathematics learning based on PAIKEM GEMBROT after being given training was in a suitable category as much as 100%. Abstract

Generation Z is a group that lives in a fast-paced and dynamic technological environment, so it is vulnerable to various psychological pressures, including quarter life crises. This condition is characterized by identity confusion, anxiety about the future, and uncertainty about the direction of life which has an impact on low ability to face difficulties (Adversity Quotient/AQ). This study aims to test the effectiveness of creative group counseling that is integrated with Islamic values in increasing AQ in Gen Z who are experiencing a quarter life crisis. The research method used is pre-experimental with a One Group Pretest–Posttest design. The research subjects amounted to seven Gen Z people who were selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments are in the form of AQ and quarter life crisis questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. The intervention was carried out through five sessions of counseling for creative groups based on Islamic values such as patience, tawakal, gratitude, and effort. The results of the analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with a Zscore = -2,410 showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores (Asymp. Sig. = 0.016 < 0.05), which showed that group counseling services were effective in improving the participants' AQ. These findings confirm that the integration of psychological and spiritual approaches through creative group counseling can increase adversity questions in students .

Abstract

Mathematics needs to be taught to students to equip them with logical, analytical, systematic, critical, and creative thinking skills. Elementary school teachers rarely implement fun learning strategies in mathematics. For example, in the topic of squaring integers for large numbers. Generally, students are told to memorize the squaring of numbers 1 to 10, but for hundreds or even thousands, it starts to make students bored and difficult to calculate. This is compounded by the learning strategies given by teachers using conventional methods or stacking methods. This condition is also experienced by students of Elementary School 88 Bengkulu Tengah. An initial survey conducted by interviewing several teachers there found information that the majority of students are weak in mathematics, and they are also less motivated to learn. Therefore, it is deemed necessary to conduct Socialization of Alternative Methods for Squaring Integers that are Easy and Fun for Teachers of Elementary School 88 Bengkulu Tengah. The results of the activity showed that the knowledge of Elementary School 88 Bengkulu Tengah teachers about alternative methods in squaring integers increased after being given socialization and seminars during training activities. This is reinforced by the results of the teacher motivation questionnaire for participating in this training, which is classified as good, as many as 100% of the participants gave a positive response to this activity. The ability and skills of teachers at SD N 88 Bengkulu Tengah in applying the integer squaring method as an easy and fun alternative method for solving problems are very good, namely 100% of teachers have been able to apply it to various solutions to number squaring problems. Abstract

In today's digital world, Indonesian students face significant challenges with statistical reasoning, a crucial 21st-century skill needed for data interpretation and informed decision-making in academic and daily contexts. To address this educational gap, researchers conducted a comprehensive meta-analysis of 17 empirical studies published from 2012-2024, systematically examining various factors that influence students' statistical reasoning abilities in Indonesia. The study methodically categorized these influences into internal factors stemming from individual student characteristics and external factors related to environmental and instructional elements. The findings revealed that the implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) combined with Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning models had the most significant positive impact on enhancing students' statistical reasoning capabilities. These research results provide valuable evidence-based insights for educators, curriculum developers, and policymakers to create more effective educational frameworks and teaching strategies that can substantially enhance statistical literacy among Indonesian students, ultimately improving their capacity for data-driven decision-making in both formal educational settings and practical real-world applications.
