Abstract

Pengembangan model project -based learning terintegrasi STEM di Sekolah Menengah Pertama belum banyak dilakukan. Padahal, integrasi STEM dalam pendidikan menjadi hal yang perlu untuk segera dilakukan mengingat tingginya kebutuhan akan SDM yang menguasai bidang STEM pada abad ke 21. Kebanyakan materi matematika disampaikan secara abstrak, sehingga mengakibatkan siswa tidak terlatih dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis. Model pembelajaran yang dikembangkan ini memberi ruang kepada siswa untuk mengembangkan gagasannya dan mengaitkan dengan konsep dasar yang dimilikinya untuk menghasilkan produk sebagai proses untuk memahami konsep. Guru dapat mengembangkan aktivitas pembelajaran menjadi bermakna dengan keterlibatan siswa secara langsung dalam project. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan suatu bahan ajar baru berbasis project  yang menyajikan topik matematika dipadukan dengan bidang STEM lainnya. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh secara kualitatif, rancangan bahan ajar seringkali mengalami perubahan susunan penyampaian bergantung pada keberagaman kemampuan siswa dan pengetahuan guru. Secara kuantitatif, model project -based learning terintegrasi STEM, dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa SMP.

Abstract

. The purpose of the study are: 1) find a description of the factors causing low mastery of basic math competency Junior high school students in the Bengkulu City. 2) Generate a valid mathematical model of learning, practical and effective way to improve the competence of Junior high school (SMP) students in the Bengkulu City. To achieve this goal done two phases the first phase is a quantitative and qualitative research (mixed) by applying documentation studies, focus group discussions, in-depth interview and classroom observation. The second phase is the development by implementing Research Design Development (Plomp& Nieveen , 2007) to generate alternatives valid mathematical model of learning, practical and effective to improve the competence of learners in mathematics learning in junior high schools in the Bengkulu City. Results of this study were 1) The factors causing low competence junior high school students in learning mathematics in the Bengkulu City are as follows: Education Management Systems and Learning Mathematics: mathematics learning management tend to be rigid and mechanistic; Teacher: Teachers of Mathematics Having Lesson Planning Document, but in the implementation of learning is not in accordance with the plan that is prepared; Teachers deliver learning materials more emphasis to achieve the target of the curriculum, not to achieve competence, by reason of the allocation of time, and catch-material for students dealing with the national assessment (UN); Media Learning Mathematics: The utilization of instructional media, facilities and infrastructure to support the learning of mathematics has not been used optimally; Model Learning / Learning Strategies: Teachers in the communication of such materials using learning shekel: Presentation of lecture material with the form of definition, and the formula, then the teacher gives examples of problems, followed by exercises and the provision of home tasks, and so on is done repeatedly. 2) Mathematics Learning Model SMP (MPM-SMP) Prototype Devices Learning as one of the supporting system of the learning model is valid, and practical, yet effective for improving the competence of junior high school students in the city of Bengkulu is still in the process of tabulation and analysis of data.

Abstract

AbstraCT[Comparison of Student Learning Outcomes in mathematics using Realistic Mathematics Education Approach and Scientific Approach in SMP Negeri 14 Kota Bengkulu] The aim of this research was to find out whether student learning outcomes in mathematics using Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach better than student learning outcomes in mathematics using scientific approach in grade VII Junior High School Number 14 Bengkulu City academic year 2018/2019. The type of this research was Quasi Experiment Research with Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The population of this research were all of student grade VII Junior High School Number 14 Bengkulu City academic year 2018/2019. The sample taken with cluster random sampling technique so that the class VII 5 was obtained as Realistics Mathematics Education (RME) approach class with 26 students and class VII 6 was obtained as scientific approach class with 26 students. The instrument of this research was student learning outcomes test sheet in an essay form. The average student lerning outcomes in mathematics using Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach is 53,5 and The average student lerning outcomes in mathematics using Scientific approach is 43,54. This research showed that student learning outcomes in mathematics using Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach better than student learning outcomes in mathematics using scientific approach in grade VII Junior High School Number 14 Bengkulu City, with tcount = 2,689441 > ttable = 2,008559.                                                                                                              Keywords: learning outcomes in mathematics; realistic mathematics education (rme) approach; scientific approach. (Received September 4, 2019; Accepted September 26, 2019; Published October 8, 2019) AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah hasil belajar matematika peserta didik menggunakan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) lebih baik dari hasil belajar matematika peserta didik menggunakan pendekatan saintifik di Kelas VII SMP Negeri 14 Kota Bengkulu tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Quasi Experiment Research (Penelitian Eksperimen Semu) dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 14 Kota Bengkulu tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling sehingga diperoleh kelas VII 5 sebagai kelas pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) yang berjumlah 26 peserta didik dan kelas VII 6 sebagai kelas pendekatan Saintifik yang berjumlah 26 peserta didik. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar tes hasil belajar yang berbentuk soal uraian. Rata-rata hasil belajar matematika peserta didik dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) adalah 53,5 sedangkan rata-rata hasil belajar peserta didik dengan pendekatan Saintifik sebesar 44,54. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar matematika peserta didik menggunakan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics educatio (RME) lebih baik dari hasil belajar matematika peserta didik menggunakan pendekatan Saintifik di kelas VII SMP Negeri 14 Kota Bengkulu, dengan . Kata kunci: hasil belajar matematika; pendekatan realistic mathematics education (rme); pendekatan saintifik.

Abstract

Learners are directly related to what the teacher in learning activities and become direct experience of learners. Learning gives real meaning to the learner. By providing props based on mathematical learning environment will give meaning to the other disciplines. By learning math using environment-based learning tools teachers will associate with other subjects. The use of instructional media in teaching and learning is still lacking although the schools have had excellent facilities. This is caused by lack of knowledge and skills of elementary school teachers in the city of Bengkulu in using objects that are available around the environment to be a source of learning, especially math used as props. One of the utilization of objects that exist around the environment in mathematics is a manufacture of environment-based learning tools. The method used is a demonstration, assignments, discussions and question and answer. Through this service activities gained six props is a digital clock, the positive and negative card, card number, card mirroring, square blocks and funnel Commission. The implications of this activity is that it can terbentukya props based math environment more creative, to other subject matter. The conclusion of this study is to improve the ability of teachers to use and utilize existing objects around the environment to be used as props in learning. Keywords: Training, Maths Props, Primary School Teacher

Abstract

Indonesia sebagai negara yang ada dalam regional MEA, harus mempersiapkan diri, agar tenaga kerja Indonesia tidak kalah bersaing dengan tenaga kerja asing. Berdasarkan hasil survey Hasil survei PISA 2018 menempatkan Indonesia di urutan ke 74 atau peringkat keenam dari bawah. Untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut, sebuah kerangka teoritis yang muncul saat ini dalam penggunaan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi oleh guru adalah Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK). TPACK merupakan sebuah kerangka untuk mengintegrasikan teknologi dalam mengajar. Salah satu model pembelajaran inovatif yang dapat digunakan adalah model pembelajaran STEM dan Digital Learning. STEM dan Digital Learning dikembangkan sebagai fasilitas belajar dan mengajar matematika dan ilmu pengetahuan dari mulai sekolah dasar sampai tingkat universitas. Sebagai salah satu Kabupaten di Provinsi Jawa Barat yang mengusung program Kabupaten Pendidikan. Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) dengan judul “Pelatihan Pembelajaran Inovatif berbasis STEM dan Digital Learning untuk Guru SD di Desa Cipondok, Kecamatan Cibingbin Kabupaten Kuningan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran TPACK bagi guru matematika SD di Kabupaten Kuningan dalam menerapkan STEM dan Digital Learning pada pembelajaran matematika. Metode pelaksanaan program ini terdiri dari beberapa tahap yaitu: perijinan dan analisis situasi, persiapan program (penyususunan modul dan instrumen), pelaksanaan pelatihan STEM dan Digital Learning, penerapan hasil pelatihan (menerapkan STEM dan Digital Learning dalam pembelajaran matematika), monitoring dan evaluasi, pengolahan data, pembuatan laporan, serta publikasi. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah adanya peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran Guru SD di desa Cipondok setelah mengikuti pelatihan ini.

Abstract

The background of this research is the low learning outcomes of students' mathematics because the tendency of students to read and understand the material in printed books is still low and teachers still apply one-way learning interactions so that students tend to be passive. Thus, the purpose of this research is to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes by applying the Team Assisted Individualization type cooperative learning model with the help of Handouts. The type of research that will be applied is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted in 3 cycles. Data was collected by means of learning outcomes tests. The subject and place of the research was SMA Negeri 03 Bengkulu Tengah in class XI IPA K with 23 students consisting of 18 girls and 5 boys. From the results of the research and discussion, it was concluded that learning outcomes increased with the practice questions made in a structured manner and with the correction process students were able to understand the material. The percentage of complete learning outcomes classically from cycle 1 to cycle 3 is 65.21% in the first cycle, 78.260% in the second cycle and 86.04% in the third cycle, which means that in each cycle learning outcomes increase.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in schools more often uses the lecture method and does not provide opportunities for students to construct their knowledge. In learning, students tend to be passive in receiving material from the teacher because students only memorize formulas instead of understanding them so that students' interest in learning mathematics is low. This resulted in the low learning outcomes of students' mathematics. This study aims to determine how to apply the guided discovery method so that there is an increase in students' learning activities and mathematics outcomes. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR) with data collection techniques through student activity observation sheets and learning outcomes tests. The research subjects were all students of class VIIIG SMPN 2 Bengkulu City. The results showed that the application of the guided discovery method could improve students' learning activities and mathematics outcomes. The increase in activity and student learning outcomes can be seen from the increase in the average score of two observers where in the first cycle, namely 27 (sufficient criteria), the second cycle increased to 39 (good criteria), and the third cycle increased again to 46.5 (good criteria). Meanwhile, the increase in student learning outcomes can be seen from the increase in the average score of students from cycle I to cycle III, namely: 73.3; 79.1; and 85.81 with the percentage of classical learning completeness from cycle I to cycle III, namely: 52.78%; 72.22%; and 94.44%.
