Research does not start from the method but must depart from the root of the problem. Formulating precisely the paradigm and background of the research will help researchers design the research design and determine the method to use. In this case, quantitative, qualitative or a mixture of both can use. Through this paper, it explains that religious research and various topics within it are open with various approaches because of their nature as science. Abstract

Suffering, as a natural part of life, will be burdensome and burdensome when we respond in the wrong way. Therefore, it is necessary to have a theological construction so that humans can survive and pass through their sufferings victoriously. This paper aims to build a theological response to human suffering by proposing the presence of a theology of suffering. It can be concluded that through the theology of suffering, suffering humans can accept suffering as God's sovereignty. This theology also builds on the understanding that the way of suffering can identify God. The suffering experienced by humans does not come immediately because it has a unique purpose for everyone. It is also found that in the theology of suffering, God suffered through the death of His Son on the Cross for the benefit of humanity. This paper is written entirely with an analytic approach by relying on various theories and interpretations of Bible verses through in-depth literature studies ABSTRAK: Penderitaan sebagai bagian alami kehidupan, akan menjadi sesesuatu yang membebani dan menjerumuskan ketika ditanggapi dengan cara yang salah.

Abstract

Sonny Eli Zaluchu, The Hermenetic Pattern of Hebrew Wisdom Literature. Hebrew Wisdom Literature is one of the most distinctive kinds of literature that can found in the Old Testament. Particular hermeneutic patterns are needed to interpret literary books. The writings of the wisdom literature of the Hebrew people are rich in various types of literary styles from being oral traditions to written forms and being part of the Old Testament canon. This paper aims to form a hermeneutic pattern in the form of defining literary categories, capturing the main ideas of the writer, seeing the text in context, and paying attention to the style of language. Studying these four patterns will help the interpreter elevate the meaning of the contents of the literature of Wisdom. Writing presented in a descriptive, analytical form. Sonny Eli Zaluchu, Pola Hermenetik Sastra Hikmat Orang Ibrani.

Abstract

Religious life cannot be separated from society. As a religious institution, the church must impact society through concrete action. One of these approaches is through pastoral theology. This research aims to provide a methodological template for academics and churches, in particular, to use pastoral theology to analyze societal problems. This is necessary because some churches are still bound by dogmas that restrict the church’s role to “spiritual” matters rather than matters of concrete social concern. So, churches often distance themselves from the social theory approach in dissecting society's problems. The analytical tool used in this paper is the pastoral cycle method. A pastoral theological approach focuses on cases that have occurred or are currently occurring in society. This paper uses the case of food scarcity, namely cooking oil, which has occurred in Indonesia. The research results show that the social theological approach, which has been shunned by evangelical theology, can be used in dissecting and mapping social cases in society to contribute to the church in determining anticipatory steps and responding with concern to these social problems. Through this research, it can be concluded that the social function of the church as light and salt of the world can be achieved by using pastoral theology. The implications of this research will encourage churches to position themselves as government partners in realizing the achievement of SDG targets on the one hand and the other hand, provide new insight that pastoral theology does not only deal with “spiritual” (i.e., intangible) matters. It can be seen that a Biblical approach can be intertwined with social analysis for the purpose of social welfare.
