Abstract

This study examines how the Instagram account @aslisuroboyo constructs negative sentiment toward the Madurese ethnic group through crime-related content. Using a qualitative single-case study design, this research applies Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) across three analytical dimensions: textual, discursive practice, and sociocultural practice. Data were collected from four purposively selected posts published between October 2024 and August 2025. The findings reveal that the account systematically constructs negative sentiment through ethno-geographic identity labeling in visual overlays, transformation of journalistic content into morally charged criminal infotainment, and the operation of othering ideologies rooted in the historical asymmetry between the Javanese-Surabaya and Madurese communities. Notably, the identity labeling mechanism has reached a stage of naturalization, functioning as a structural reflex in content production regardless of the severity of the offense.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) pengaruh pengalaman kerja praktis terhadap kesiapan kerja, (2) pengaruh kepercayaan terhadap kesiapan kerja, (3) pengaruh pengalaman kerja praktis dan kepercayaan diri terhadap kesiapan kerja. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMK Negeri 15 Samarinda dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa yang mengambil jurusan otomotif yang telah melakukan kerja praktek berjumlah 82 orang, yang terdiri dari tiga kelas OT1 29 orang, OT2 25 orang, dan OT3 28 orang . Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) Pengalaman Kerja Praktis berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Kesiapan Kerja Siswa SMA 15 Samarinda (2) Kepercayaan tidak memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan Kesiapan Kerja Siswa SMA 15 Samarinda Samarinda jurusan otomotif yang jurusan ditunjukkan. (3) Pengalaman kerja dan kepercayaan diri secara simultan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kesiapan kerja siswa sekolah menengah kejuruan 15 Samarinda di bidang otomotif.

Abstract

The stalled Mojopahit Marine Park (TBM) project in Mojokerto City has become an interesting public issue because it involves allegations of irregularities in regional budget management and raises the role of the media in shaping public understanding of an event. Studies on corruption reporting have so far focused more on legal aspects and social impacts, while studies on how local media construct meaning through language choices in reporting are still limited. This study aims to analyze the construction of meaning built by Radarmojokerto.Jawapos.Com in discussing the alleged corruption in the TBM project. The study uses a constructivist paradigm with a descriptive qualitative approach based on M.A.K. Halliday's social semiotic theory which includes the field of discourse, the tenor of discourse, and the means of discourse (mode of discourse). Data were obtained through the analysis of 15 news texts from February–October 2025, in-depth interviews with editors, and documentation analyzed using triangulation. The research findings show that the media construct the TBM issue as a matter of alleged misappropriation of public funds, presenting a discursive relationship between public supervisors, law enforcement, and local governments, and employing linguistic strategies such as metaphor, personification, hyperbole, and euphemism to reinforce the news message. These findings demonstrate that local media not only convey facts but also contribute to shaping social reality through the practice of linguistic representation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini meneliti tentang pola komunikasi kelompok petani tembakau di 3 (tiga) wilayah sentra penghasil tembakau di Madura, yaitu Sampang, Pamekasan dan Sumenep. Selain itu juga meneliti tentang bagaimana kebijakan pemberdayaan ekonomi politik petani tembakau di Madura. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori komunikasi kelompok, ekonomi politik dan kebijakan publik. Paradigma penelitian yang digunakan interpretif, jenis penelitian kualitatif, metode penelitian deskriptif dan instrumen penelitian observasi terlibat, wawancara dan FGD. Pola komunikasi kelompok petani tembakau terbentuk melalui tiga isu yaitu, pengadaan bibit, pupuk dan pemasaran. Opinion leader dalam komunikasi kelompok adalah klebun, pengurus pembibitan, pedagang pupuk dan juragan/bandhol.
