Abstract

The aim of this research is 1) to determine the independence of class 1B students in implementing P5 learning. 2) knowing the form of independence of class 1B students in implementing P5 learning. 3) know and describe the factors that influence the independence of class 1B students in implementing P5 learning. 4) find out what efforts are made by the school to overcome problems that arise in the implementation of P5 learning related to the independence of class 1B students. This research was carried out at Tugu Jebres Elementary School, Surakarta. This form of research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. This research strategy uses a qualitative descriptive design with a case study approach. The subjects of this research included class 1B teachers, class 1B students and parents of class 1B students. The object of this research is independence in implementing P5 to increase the independent character value of class 1B students at SD Negeri Tugu Jebres Surakarta. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research can be concluded that: 1) the independence of class 1B students in implementing P5 at SD Negeri Tugu Jebres Surakarta consists of 6 indicators. The independence of class 1B students in implementing P5 is categorized as 80% of students being independent. 2) the form of independence of class 1B students in implementing P5 learning includes students being able to learn on their own. 3) factors that influence the independence of class 1B students in implementing P5 learning are influenced by internal factors and external factors. 4) the efforts made by the school to overcome problems that arise in the implementation of P5 learning are that teachers and the school will always encourage, motivate and provide opportunities for students so that they can learn and be independent.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the educational games assisted by wordwall applications is effective on student interest and learning outcomes of IPAS class V SDN Tugu Jebres No.120 in the 2023/2024 academic year. The research approach used is quantitative with the quasi experimental research and non-equivalent control group design. The samples of the research amounted to 41 fifth grade students who were selected through sampling with saturated sampling technique. The data analysis technique was used the Independent Sample Test followed by the N-gain test. The results of the research indicated the effectiveness treatment of educational game assisted by wordwall application, which was obtained in the hypothesis test with a sig. value 0.000 < 0.05 on student learning interest and sig. value 0.002 < 0.05 on learning outcomes. On the basis of the N-gain test, the experimental class learning interest percentage was 57.44% with a quite effective criteria. Meanwhile, the N-gain test on learning outcomes of the experimental class obtained a percentage of 56.96% with a quite effective criteria. So it could be concluded that the treatment of educational games assisted by wordwall application is quite effective on student interest and learning outcomes of IPAS class V SDN Tugu Jebres No.120 in the 2023/2024 academic year.

Abstract

Student learning outcomes that are not optimal in learning Indonesian in elementary schools are generally caused by teacher-centered learning practices and the lack of use of interactive media. This study aims to analyze the application of the PBL model assisted by audiovisual media in grade II students at SD Negeri 03 Ketaon. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach involving principals, teachers, and students in the 2025/2026 school year. Data was collected through triangulation techniques and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study showed that the implementation of audiovisual-assisted PBL was carried out systematically through five stages, namely problem orientation, student organization, investigation guidance, development and presentation of results, and evaluation. This model is able to increase student engagement, motivation, critical thinking skills, and concept comprehension, which is shown by an increase in average scores from 62.56 to 86.28. Learning has also become more active, interactive, and student-centered. However, its implementation requires adequate time allocation, effective classroom management, and adequate facility support. Implicitly, this model can be a strategic alternative in improving the quality of learning processes and outcomes in elementary schools.

Abstract

The low level of mathematical conceptual mastery in elementary schools remains a critical issue requiring innovative instructional approaches. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in improving fifth-grade students’ conceptual understanding. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control group design was applied. Samples were selected through purposive sampling and divided into an experimental group (PBL) and a control group (conventional teaching). Data were collected using a validated essay test administered before and after the intervention. Analysis using an independent sample t-test revealed a significant difference between groups, with the experimental group outperforming the control group. The mean pretest scores were 62.43 (control) and 62.52 (experimental), while posttest scores increased to 72.21 and 80.14, respectively. The significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05) confirms that PBL has a positive effect on students’ mathematical conceptual understanding. These findings indicate that PBL is effective not only in improving learning outcomes but also in enhancing the learning process by positioning teachers as facilitators, increasing student engagement, and fostering logical and reflective thinking in solving contextual problems.
