Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of oketani massage and acupressure pressure of GB-21 on milk production in post-Caesarea section mothers. The research method used is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental research design, one group pre-posttest design. The results showed that the pressure on the acupressure point of GB-21 was sufficient based on mother and baby indicators. The statistical test results showed differences in milk production before and after pressure at the acupressure point of Gb-12 (p-value = 0.000). In conclusion, oketani massage is more effective in increasing milk production in group A, post section caesarea mothers compared to group B, the pressure at the acupressure point Gb-21 from infant indicators. Abstract

Sectio caesarea is a commonly performed obstetric surgical procedure that may cause acute postoperative pain. Uncontrolled pain can interfere with early mobilization, breastfeeding process, and postpartum maternal recovery. Lavender aromatherapy is a non-pharmacological complementary intervention that has the potential to reduce pain perception through relaxation effects and nervous system modulation. This study aimed to determine the effect of lavender aromatherapy administration on pain intensity among post sectio caesarea mothers. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test approach. The Evidence-Based Nursing implementation was conducted on May 18–21, 2026, in the postpartum ward of Hospital X, involving four post sectio caesarea mothers selected based on inclusion criteria. Pain intensity was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) before and after inhalation of lavender aromatherapy for 15–30 minutes. Data were analyzed using the Paired t-test. Results: Before the intervention, most respondents experienced severe pain, with 3 respondents (75%) reporting severe pain and a mean pain score of 7.25 ± 0.50. After receiving lavender aromatherapy, pain intensity decreased with a mean score of 4.25 ± 0.50. The Paired t-test showed a significant difference in pain levels before and after the intervention with a p-value of 0.002 (p<0.05). Conclusion: Lavender aromatherapy significantly reduced pain intensity among post sectio caesarea mothers and can be applied as an evidence-based complementary nursing intervention to support postoperative pain management.

Abstract

Uji Chi-Square menghasilkan p=0,001, dengan OR=6,7 (95% CI: 1,8–24,6).
