Abstract

All health issues in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are integrated into one goal: ensuring a healthy life and promoting well-being for everyone of all ages, which includes mental health. Social phobia is a mental health problem often associated with adolescents. Social phobia is an irrational fear of negative views of others. Adolescents with social phobia will be distracted in their daily activities socially and lose their learning because they avoid interactions that cause academic problems in school. Adolescent girls experience more social phobia than adolescent boys. Biological and environmental factors are the cause of social phobia in adolescents. Social phobia management includes psychopharmaceuticals, cognitive therapy, deep breathing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Abstract

Introduction: Postoperative depression is a condition of depressive effects in patients without symptoms of depressive mood that occurs a few weeks after surgery and persists for at least 2 weeks. It generally possesses the same symptoms as major depressive disorder. Review: Their difference is that surgery is the trigger of depression in postoperative depression cases. Postoperative depression is associated with increased patients’ morbidity and mortality, increased the risk of disease complications, reduced postoperative healing process, prolonged the duration of treatment, and reduced patients’ quality of life. Therefore, mental health conditions should always be assessed on patients after undergoing surgery. Postoperative depression therapy needs to consider the benefits of antidepressants and adequate pain management. Antidepressant considerations also need to consider interactions with other drugs. Psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy are also useful in postoperative depression management. Conclusion: This review is aimed to give insight about postoperative depression, its importance, and how to treat it.

Abstract

Normally, everybody growing old would suffer memory regression in accordance with the aging process. This changing process is due to the decline of cerebral memory functioning. There is a difference between senescence (benign forgetfulness senescence) i.e. a still normal aging process, senility (mild cognitive impairment), an intellectual disturbance occuring on elder people but not yet suffering from dementia (predementia), and dementia, a severe loss of intellectual ability affecting social function and work. Some memory disturbances classification and simple examination to differentiate them are discussed.

Abstract

Lack of experience would hamper early detection of behavioral and emotional disturbances in children. In accordance with the framework of this education and counseling program to health providers in an industrial town in Eastern Kalimantan, a guidance handout was constructed to help teachers detect any suspect cases amongst pupils of Play Groups (PG), Elementary Schools (ES), Secondary Schools (SS), and High Schools (HS) in town. The guidance consist of 15 most common deviations found in the community. The target were 78 schools consisting 14 PG classes, 37 ES classes, 15 SS classes, 12 HS classes, totaling 2,670 students as whole population sample. Four hundred fifty one children (16,9%) were detected as suffering various behavioral or emotional disturbances. Kurangnya pengalaman menghambat deteksi dini kasus-kasus jiwa anak. Abstract

Every year, sexual abuse against children is increasing. Globally, it is estimated that 3-31% of children had experienced sexual abuse. This harms children, including the impact of physical injury, neurobiological impact, and psychiatric, such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, PTSD, drug abuse, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and attempted suicide. To help children who are victims of sexual abuse, a special approach is required to ease the communication to children. Since children communicate using symbols, thus storytelling, which is part of the Play Therapy technique, is the right method to communicate awareness to children. With an approach using the storytelling method, hopefully, children will be able to understand the very situations, recognize and express their emotions properly, and minimize the negative impact after the abuse.
