Abstract

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is the most common childhood neurobiologic disorder with main  symptom of inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity and minimal occurrence in two different place settings, for example at home and at school. ADHD disorders will last sustainably from adolescence to adulthood. Mothers of ADHD children tend to be anxious, tired and desperate because they are often blamed by the environment for failing to educate children due to opposing childrens behavior, disobeying orders that result in ADHD children being rejected and experiencing low learning achievement. Mothers are also often must lose his job due to having to take care of his own ADHD child.Methods: Observational analytic study with cross sectional design of 30 mothers of ADHD children aged 6 to 12 years of Bina Karya primary school Surabaya by random sampling method. Assessment of ADHD by mothers using SPAHI (Skala Penilaiana Anak Hiperaktif Indonesia)  and maternal anxiety  assessment using Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale questionnaire Results: there was significant correlation between maternal anxiety level  and severity of ADHD with score p = 0.003 and r = 0.530 Conclusion: The degree of maternal anxiety is related to the severity of ADHD.

Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a transitional phase that causes biological, cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioral changes. One of the issues of concern is aggressive behavior in adolescents. Parenting styles and peer attachment are one of the factors that have an influence on potential aggressive behavior in adolescent boys. Objectives To analyze the relationship between parenting styles and peer attachment to the potential aggressive behavior of adolescent boys. Method: The subjects were junior high school male students who are cared for by both biological parents and can follow all of the research procedures. The research design was cross-sectional with total sampling technique. Subjects performed anamnesis related data self, parent demographic data, and peers. (PAQ), (IPPA) (BPAQ). The analyzes used were Pearson, Spearman, and Anova. Results: The majority of parenting styles was permissive (34.06%; 48.00%). Parenting styles and peer attachments did not have a significant relationship with potential aggressive behavior (p = 0.798; p = 0.071; p = 0.695). There was a negative correlation of peer attachment with alienation dimension (p = 0.001). Other significant dimensions with potential dimensions of aggressive behavior were trust (p = 0.018; 0.022) and communication (p = 0.029; p = 0.000). Conclusion: Parenting styles and peer attachments did not have a meaningful relationship with potential aggressive behavior in adolescent boys. However, there were some significant correlations between the dimensions of parenting and peer attachment with potential dimensions of aggressive behavior.

Abstract

Background: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorderduring child development with three symptoms which are comprised of inattention, hyperactivity, andimpulsiveness that may persist into adulthood. This condition can be a stressor for parents in performingparenting and may lead into a state of parenting stress. Objective: To analyze the relationship betweenparenting stress and the risk of developing Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) inelementary school children. Methods: This research was conducted in Surabaya from November 2020to January 2021 with respondents consisting of parents of elementary school children who have ADHDrisk and agreed to participate in this study with a total of 55 samples selected using a purposive samplingtechnique. The research design was cross-sectional using demographic questionnaire, AbbreviatedConners Rating Scale (ACRS), and Parenting Stress Index-Short Form (PSI-SF) which were filledout by respondents through an online form. The data were processed and analyzed using One-SampleChi-Square analysis test program with a p-value <0.05, considered statistically significant. Results:The majority of parents experienced moderate parenting stress levels (58.2%). There was a significantrelationship between each level of parenting stress and the risk of ADHD in children (p < 0.001).Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between parenting stress and the risk of ADHD inchildren.

Abstract

AbstrakSetiap orang dewasa yang memiliki tanggung jawab untuk mengasuh seorang anak memiliki kemungkinan untuk mengalami stres pengasuhan yang timbul akibat adanya ketidak seimbangan antara kebutuhan dalam proses tersebut dengan kemampuan seseorang sebagai orang tua untuk memenuhinya. Sejauh ini beberapa penelitian telah menunjukkan tingkat stres pengasuhan yang tinggi dapat memberikan dampak negatif seperti depresi pada orang tua dan timbulnya kekerasan terhadap anak. Faktor internal orang tua dan anak serta peristiwa kehidupan eksternal yang dapat memengaruhi stabilitas keluarga merupakan sumber utama stres pengasuhan, namun beberapa penelitian juga menunjukkan adanya dampak parameter demografis terhadap stres pengasuhan. Untuk itu dilaksanakanlah penelitian ini untuk mengetahui adakah pengaruh karakteristik demografi orang tua terhadap tingkat stres yang dialaminya dalam mengasuh anak. Penelitian ini memiliki rancangan studi cross-sectional dengan melibatkan 35 orang tua sebagai subjek yang datanya diambil menggunakan pengisian kuisioner PSI. Subjek dalam penelitian ini sebagian besar adalah perempuan, berpendidikan akhir perguruan tinggi atau sederajat, bekerja, berpenghasilan lebih dari upah minimum regional (UMR), dan memiliki dua anak, dengan rerata usia 37,46 ± 5,52 (mean ± SD). Sebagian besar individu dalam penelitian ini memiliki tingkat stres pengasuhan yang berada dalam rentang normal, dengan hanya sebagian kecil (11,4%) yang memiliki stres pengasuhan tinggi. Analisis bivariat menunjukkan bahwa hubungan antara faktor demografi dengan tingkat stres pengasuhan tidak signifikan dalam penelitian ini. Kata Kunci  : Stres pengasuhan, Anak usia sekolah dasar, Faktor Demografi, PSI

Abstract

Coronary heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in Indonesia. Personality is one of the risk factors of coronary heart disease. The aim of the study was to investigate the dominant personality according to Big Five Personality in patients with coronary heart disease. We used an analytical descriptive study with cross-sectional design. The samples taken were patients with coronary heart disease in Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya in May 2019. Data of personality were collected using the Big Five Personality questionnaire. The result showed that the dominant personality according to Big Five Personality in patients with coronary heart disease was conscientiousness. Abstract

Background: Psychiatric assistance is required in the integrated handling of physical health disorders in the field of other disciplines known as CLP. A collaborative approach to the field of psychiatry with other scientific disciplines in accordance with WHO health criteria that includes physical and mental health for improving health and quality of life. Case presentation: A boy, 8 years, was consulted from the Ophthalmology Department with Right eye cataract juvenile, and left eye ptisis bulbi to give pre-operative psychological assistance for eye assessment and diagnostics. Patient also complained the blurred vision since last year and cannot see anything since 10 months ago. The current condition represents the patient cannot speak, often screams, likes to injure his head and scratch his face. Patients treated in the pediatric’s ward with global developmental delay. Patients were also consulted to the child psychiatry section with childhood autism, audiology, nutrition and metabolic diseases of children, pediatric neurology, and finally collaboration with the Surabaya City Health Office for a follow-up management plan. Conclusions: Child psychiatrist as a liaison, interacting with multidisciplinary medical or rehabilitation teams, families, schools, community and local city government are beneficial in the management of child disorders and improving family wellbeing. Abstract

There is an increasing in admitted patients with cases of gender identity disorder in the daycare clinic of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division Dr. Soetomo, it is necessary to increase understanding and clinical ability in relation to gender identity disorders through psychiatry consultation discussion, so that management can be achieved properly and comprehensively. Disorder of sex development (DSD) is a medical disorder that is associated with an incompatibility between chromosomes, gonads, phenotypes and anatomy which is characterized by the development of external genital organs that are incompatible with whether it is male or female. Genetalia ambiguos can cause significant psychological stressors for patients or their families, where as a result of the conditions experienced, it will lead to gender dysphoria with the resulting effects, among others, in the form of anxiety, depression and low self-esteem, to affect the quality of life of children as adolescents and adults. . The method of preparing this report is a case analysis and the role of CLP which is given based on the results of the examination and references to management in the field of psychiatry of children and adolescents in cases of DSD from children aged 12 years. Conducted to strengthen the adaptation of patients to problems identifying gender development and to their families by emphasizing the importance of achieving optimal quality of life for children. The results of the case reports describe the role of Consultation Liason Psychiatry through communication and consultation between related areas of expertise, supportive psychotherapy and continuous Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) techniques along with psychoeducation in families providing good development results with results in reducing patient anxiety and depression, based on children's scoring Depression Inventory (CDI) of patients with Mosaicism, Mixed Gonadal Dysgenesis (MGD). The conclusion of this case report is that the problem of psychological stressors that arise in DSD requires psychiatric assistance according to the stages of child development. The important role of psychiatrists in the management of DSD cases has been recognized and stated in the joint consensus for the treatment of individuals with DSD since 2006. CLP needs to be built because of the complexity of treatment and therapy in DSD cases, which involve subspecialty pediatric endocrinology, urology, psychiatry, gynecology, genetics, workers. social nurse and medical ethics. described in the algorithm below in the management of cases of gender dysphoric. Abstract

Tujuan: Enuresis merupakan masalah yang sering ditemukan pada anak-anak. Enuresis memberikan pengaruh buruk baik secara psikologis dan sosial sehingga bisa mengganggu kehidupan anak dan mempengaruhi kualitas hidupnya saat dewasa. Salah satu faktor penyebab enuresis pada anak adalah stres atau faktor psikologis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan stres dengan enuresis pada anak usia sekolah.Metode: Desain observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan simple random sampling dengan jumlah sampel 32 anak. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar kuesioner PSS-C (the Perceived Stress Scale For Children) yang digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat stres pada anak. Teknik statistik yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data adalah uji chi Square.Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar anak sekolah mengalami stres yang tinggi (62%) dan sebagian besar anak sekolah mengalami enuresis (56%). Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan Pvalue = 0,000 (Pvalue > ) sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara stres dengan enuresis pada anak.Simpulan: Diharapkan orang tua mengenali masalah psikososial yang terjadi pada anak sehingga dapat memberikan intervensi segera agar tidak berdampak pada perkembangan anak selanjutnya. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat dilakukan untuk mengajarkan tehnik manajemen stres pada anak dan manajemen penanganan enuresis pada anak sekolah.Kata kunci: Enuresis, Stres, Anak Sekolah

Abstract

Background: Internet addiction has become a serious problem in the world, especially for adolescents. Temperament plays an important role in influencing internet addiction in adolescents. Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between students’ characteristics and temperament with their internet addiction levels in one of the junior high schools in Surabaya, Indonesia. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study, which used primary data that was obtained from students who filled out a questionnaire. The study sample included 114 students in one of the junior high schools in Surabaya. The dependent variable was the internet addiction level; the dependent variables were gender, age, student grade, and temperament. An Internet Addiction Test (IAT) and an Early Adolescents Temperament Questionnaire-Revised (EATQ-R) were the tools used for data collection. Data was collected in November 2019. The sample selection was done through the stratified random sampling technique. The data was subsequently analyzed using the Fisher’s exact and Spearman correlation tests. Results: There was a significant positive correlation between age (p<0.01), student grade (p<0.05), negative affectivity (p<0.01), and surgency (p<0.05) toward internet addiction levels. There was a significant negative correlation observed between effortful control (p<0.05) and internet addiction levels. Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between age, student grade, negative affectivity, surgency, and effortful control and adolescents’ internet addiction levels.
